We came here to check out the board game selection for Christmas. No go on the board games but I did come away with stuff for myself! There were discounts in pretty much all sections and a clearance wall in the back. They have a Crayola section which is very reasonably priced. I got a pack of 3 crazy scissors for only $4. They have stuffed animal selections from all the best brands like Squishmallow, Jellycat, and Palm Pals! The coolest part of the store was their "Pretend Play" area. They had toy versions of a DeLonghi coffee machine, Dyson vacuums, and the ooni pizza oven. They do helium balloons here. I asked if you can bring your own but they only fill the ones that you purchase in store. read more

Great non-harassment style customer service! A simple hello upon entrance and a follow up "if there's anything I can do" about 10 minutes later. Lots of selection of great educational toys and books (fun ones too). Nice that they had a Thomas table set up with a significant number of trains for the little one to play with while mom did a quick once around. The only non-English books they had were in French (which is fine), but it was nice to see that they had a good selection of Lego and also that there was a bathroom. Quick and friendly service upon checkout and also a great deal on Ravensburger Puzzles - buy 1 get the next 50% off. Will be back. read more

We stumbled upon this store accidentally. Decided to go in. I had very low expectations going in, since this is located in a strip mall. But, man was I wrong! - Lots of toys - Excellent variety - Prices are reasonable - Store is nice and clean - Decor is fresh - Staff was nice No negatives to report. As a matter of fact, Toys R Us should learn from them as to what a TRUE toy store should be like. Biggest caution is that, even as an adult, I was tempted in almost every isle to buy stuff!! Lots of cool stuff! I can only imagine how tempted I would have been had I come in as a kid! So, leave your kids in the car! ;oP read more

I went to Mastermind Toys for the first time to look at potential gifts and was curious to see what they sell. Initially the staff was extremely friendly however after looking around for not even 3 minutes a male sales associate came up to me and asked if I needed help, to which I replied that I was only browsing. What he said afterwards is what shocked me, he said "Oh well uh I guess just keep looking around then, see if you find anything, not that I care." All while rolling his eyes and sounding fed up. The attitude he presented was horrifying and made me feel extremely unwelcome. I left the store immediately and definitely won't ever be coming back, at least not with that guy's passive aggressive attitude. read more

Mastermind Toys is usually my go-to when shopping for gifts. I like the at they are someone locally owned - definitely less corporate than other options, and offer a good variety of toys. Their gift wrapping is usually I point as well. That is likely why my most recent experience was so incredibly disappointing. I went into the Burlington store to purchase 3 birthday gifts. There happen to be 3 employees gathered around the cash area. There were 3-5 other customers in the store during the 10 minutes I spent there. One employee was putting away new stock, and the other two... not sure, but did not seem busy. I spent majority of my time starring at one section, unable to find what I needed, and a lot of time in another specific section, also needing help. Not one time did some ask me if I needed help. I can't help but wonder, why now especially, when there is so much talk of online retailers putting brick and mortar stores at risk of losing business, customer service is apparently becoming less and less important. read more
