4/12/17 Had a refrigerator repair, warranty rework. Required an initial visit to look at the issue and order parts. I was assured the parts would take 2 -5 days to arrive and a call to schedule the second visit would occur. After 10 days, no call was received to schedule the second visit. I called Master Tech to find out what was going on. I was told the parts were not in yet, but the work could be schedule for 3 days out. I asked if the parts had been ordered. The answer given was "The parts are not in yet." I repeated the question and got the exact same answer. I take that to mean Master Tech had not ordered the parts and only did so when I called. I do not trust Master Tech to follow through on their commitments read more

I've never experienced worse customer service in my life! Our first appointment with a technician was on 7/30. He told us they would call us with an estimate shortly. I waited two weeks and then I had to finally call. I had to then tell them to order the parts and then they NEVER called me to let me know when they were in. I finally called again after two weeks and they said "ok, sure we could come out in 2 days with the parts." Then, I never received a call the day before in which they should have told me the refrigerator needed to be shut off 24 hours in advance in order to put in the parts. So when he came (today) he said he couldn't do anything at all. It's been a month since the first technician came. Also, the office manager is rude and did absolutely NOTHING to make me feel better about the situation. I told her how frustrated I was as a customer and she superficially just said "well, sorry you feel that way." She then called back to defend herself telling me that she spoke to the person who had made the calls to notify customers the day before had tried to leave a message but that my voicemail hadn't been set up which isn't the case because I've received several voice mails. And she said he called at 3:00 p.m. when I was home and would have heard the phone and it also wasn't 24 hours before our appointment (she said "oh well, that would have been OK"). She told me that they had done their best and I said "if it's your best you should have tried to call again to notify me." She was more interested in defending and arguing than being empathetic or making the customer feel better. I can't even deal with them. It really has been an awful experience. I called Big George's instead and their servicemen will come out. read more

We have a 6 month old Whirlpool front load washer that sounds like a jet plane taking off in our basement at the end of the cycle. I went on the Whirlpool website to schedule service and was directed to Master Tech Appliance. Because I can only be available after 1:30 Monday-Friday or Saturday I called MT and requested an afternoon appointment any day of the week or Saturday. The person answering the phone was extremely negative and said "NO we can't do that and we haven't been opened on Saturday for at least 2 1/2 months. Our appointments are scheduled geographically and since you live so close to our shop you will have to have a morning appointment." She then said we are currently swamped so I will have to call you back. When she called me back she gave me the same message. I told her since they could not accommodate my schedule under any condition I was calling Whirlpool and requesting an alternate repair company. When I talked to a Whirlpool agent I told her that the MT representative answering the phone is extremely rude and not the least bit accommodating or helpful. Whirlpool arranged for a different company to come and service my machine. That company has called to confirm the time and said on the day of service they will call and let me know the time frame as well as the technician calling 30 minutes prior to his arrival. I hope to never have to call Master Tech Appliance for anything especially since I can't get past the person who answers the phone. Customer service is obviously not their priority. read more

I've been using Master Tech for years and their customer service is outstanding. I find their technicians to be very professional and knowledgeable. read more

Joining the chorus of others unhappy with Master Tech. It took over a month to get our oven repaired. 2 weeks to get the first visit scheduled. Another 10 days to get the part in. Then another 2 weeks before they'd come install the part. That is a long time without an oven. I actually liked our repairman, but the phone experience is awful, as is the level of communication they provide. read more

I needed my dryer fixed, and they scheduled me for the week I called, and when I called back to confirm, they had it for a week later. Who can wait that long for important repairs? I was going to try them again, even though I am reparing AGAIN what they fixed once, but now won't call them back. I see why they have such low ratings. read more

After given the model number AND serial number the tech came to the house and did not have the proper parts to fix the appliance. Stated would order and they would call with a new service appointment. I called them 5 days later and the part was still not ordered because they were "waiting for me to call and let them know if I wanted them to order the part"! The phone help was extremely rude when trying to resolve the problem. I would look elsewhere for if you would like to receive good customer service. If you have the time to do all of their leg work and make sure that they follow through with THEIR jobs.....give them a call read more

To start the tech Sean brought his girlfriend with him. Were they hoping to take advantage of my empty home? We had multiple appt over about 6 months, before my fridg was fixed. Through all the appts our floor was damaged twice. The owner came out to see the floors promising someone would call. We never heard back from them, even after making multiple calls to the owner and leaving messages. Funny thing, the owner was never in the office when I called. Do not let them in your house! read more

My oven died on Weds. the day before Thanksgiving. I was in panic mode since I was having 18 people for dinner. Called Mastertech and they sent someone out by 3:30 p.m. and they were able to fix it Can't thank them enough! I know that they get a lot of bad reviews, but I have never had a problem and we have used them several times. read more

Master Tech came out on a washer problem. They advised me how best to get the repair done (which didn't include them) and didn't charge me for the advice. Very commendable. read more

I have used Master Tech for many years for my own home and for property we own. Over the past year, I have major difficulties with them regarding billing. They had my credit card on file, then tried to tell me I didn't pay when it was another persons bill, and on and on. I thought we had sorted out the confusion. Last winter I told them to pay MY bill and then take my credit card out of their system. Last month, my handyman called them to fix something and they told him I never paid my bill from December. I called them upset about ANOTHER billing problem and accusation I didn't pay my bill. They blamed the confusion on my handyman and told me they thought I had told them to remove my card in December without paying the bill. Does that make any sense of anyone? I am tired of arguing about this and do not plan to use them again. read more

It literally took over 3 months for them to fix our washing machine. First, they said the problem was too much detergent and tried to leave. My husband had the tech wait and showed him that it was something else. They ordered the part and said they would call us in a week when it came in. A week and a half later we called them and they said the part was in and that they would send someone out the following week. The tech came out, said the problem was fixed but it wasn't. Took over a week for them to come back out and not fix the problem again. They ordered another part. When that finally came in, they rescheduled at least two more times. Each reschedule was a week or more from the date they were suppose to have come. When we called to complain, we were told the technician was sick. When I asked about another technician coming out, I was told that wasn't possible. I still have no idea why not. I don't think I've ever been more frustrated with a company. read more

If I could give this company a zero I would. I do not live in the Ann Arbor area but because of my washer being a Maytag and part of it being under manufacture warranty and the other under extended I was forced to use them. My first appointment on October 13, 2016 with them was a no show. They called after hours and left a message that the tech was tied up on another job and would like to reschedule. I returned there call within 5 mins but was sent directly to a message stating they were closed. The next day when I called they could not even schedule right a way I had to wait until the 19th of October. Which then parts had to be ordered. So finally on the !st my washer is suppose to be fixed. Once again he is running late. Tech was still in my home after *pm. Left without even checking washer. so guess what.....when I went to do a load of laundry the following morning it flooded my laundry room and ruined ceiling tiles in my finished basement. I've called the company. They act as if they could care less about what happen and that they would check when they could send someone. I said oh no you will send someone today. My return phone call back was he will try and make it out there today. Excuse my language but what a sorry ass company! read more

I called them to have my GE washing machine fixed, which is still under warranty. Very friendly on the phone, however lacks important information about the company. A week later my 'appointment window' was from 12 - 2. Around 2:45 I called asking where the technician was and they said he would be there soon. At 3 my doorbell rang and I showed him to my washing machine. You ask why I rated them one out of five!? Because upon the technicians arrival an hour late, I was informed they do not cover warranty work for GE. Hmmm.... WOULD HAVE BEEN HELPFUL A WEEK EARLIER WHEN THEY ASKED ME THE MODEL NUMBER AND IF IT WAS STILL UNDER WARRANTY!!!!!!! All the manager could say was sorry. Next time I have a week of my time to waste I'll make sure to call them. read more

They came to repair my dishwasher after missing the first appointment. They told me that I bought a cheap unit and it was my fault it was broken. After charging me more then the dish washer was worth, I used it for one week and the same problem happened and again they told me it was my fault and didn't warranty their work. BAD PLACE!!!!!! read more

Extremely poor service in March, 2013, which cost me money today. Master Tech misdiagnosed the "grunting sound" of my Samsung refrigerator, saying it was the ice maker. I politely disagreed with the arrogant serviceman, but said "you are the expert so I won't argue". He replaced the ice maker 3 days later, it didn't fix the problem, he came back and took it out and just left the house without a word, even though I asked him to wait while I got additional info. He just rudely left while my sister who was here was asking him to stay for the additional questions on the next step. The refrigerator went out of warranty right after that, continued the loud grunting, and then broke. I now have to pay for repairs through someone else due to their incompetence. DO NOT USE THEM!! read more

Could not be more disappointed. I was born and raised in Ann Arbor. I like to try to stick to local businesses when I can, which is why I called Master Tech when my freezer stopped making ice. The tech came out multiple times, never here for more than 5 minutes. Each time he would either hit one button to confirm there was no ice, or replace the ice maker. With the new ice maker, it would not make ice. He told me this was common and he had a defective one and would order a new one. Come out, replace it, then a week later come out and confirm yet again, no ice. This happened multiple times. Finally, he called the manufacturer. They told him to check the internal temperature. Turns out the unit was bad. I wasted almost $300 and a couple of months when he could have checked the temp on day one and told me I needed a new compressor. He said they won't work on LG compressors. He said I had to call the manufacturer. When I called Master Tech to complain, they told me they did exactly what I asked them to, repair my ice maker. I told them my original complaint was that it did not make ice. That is why I called a professional service to diagnose the problem. They said they would talk with the owner and get back to me. Never heard from them again. I called another tech service, and as soon as I told him it did not make ice and the brand, his response was "It is a common problem for the compressors to go bad. Did you check the internal temperature?" I would advise you use a technician that knows what they are doing, and can admit when they made a mistake. A refund of some of my money would have helped me feel a little bit better. read more

I called to make an appointment and was givien a 4 hour window and after the 4 hour window expired, I did not receive a courtesy call. I called the office and was informed that the technician was sick at his last stop and would not be able to make the appointment. I was re-scheduled for the following day with a 2 hour window and again the 2 hour window expired and no courtesy call. I did not call the office back because I was not going to give them my business for poor customer service. About 45 minutes after the 2 hour window I received a call saying the technician was at my door and informed the caller that the technician is not welcomed and that he may leave. I informed the office of the poor service I had received and would not be needing there services. I highly recommend that you look for another service repair company. I would of thought that the office would of excaleted my complaint to the manager who could of followed up with a solution but never did they reach out to me. read more
