Top notch!! Dari and his team are the best. Many times I have sent clients his way, usually in some sort of rush, he always comes through. Want a tailor that knows their craft, search no more. Dari to the rescue. When you decide to give him a try during your next oh sh!t moment, tell him that the Rockstars sent you.

Dari is amazing! He tailored my wedding dress - I was swimming in it when I brought it in, and it fit wonderfully when he was done with it. He had to bring the shoulders up, bring the waist in, hem the skirt and lining, and he added a bustle so I would be able to dance. He also slimmed my husband's tie. We've already gone back to have non-wedding clothes tailored. Dari is super friendly and knowledgeable, and his work is exceptional. I can't recommend him enough!

I didn't have time to send it back to the company to try and redo it before the wedding, so I took it to Dari.

Overall: Trustworthy place for alterations and custom work…read more He's clear about what's realistic, what isn't, what he can do, and why. Alterations: George transformed a delicate silk dress so the top half not only fit but flattered me. It had the perfect balance between loose and structured. He added a built-in bra with no visible trace and perfectly matched darts on both sides, plus a high-quality liner that feels invisible. I can just throw the dress on and feel comfortable and polished without extra layers. Worth every penny. Fabric: He sources materials within a reasonable budget without sacrificing quality (though some fabrics may cost more, I think it's worth it). He found a perfect liner match for my silk dress that feels incredibly soft. Design: Versatile with a strong eye for design across styles, from casual to formal to couture-like pieces. He can also create custom clothes tailored to your body and personal style. Price: Reasonable. Quality work reflects the value. Sewing Classes: Two great experiences so far. Hands-on, practical, and tailored to your pace and project. Relaxed and informal, which I like. He starts by getting you comfortable on the sewing machine right away and shares helpful tips as you progress. He's patient with questions and plans to offer more project-based classes in the future, like tote bags. My Projects so far: 1. Organza blazer: Adjusted the upper sleeve design to hide small holes. Now, it looks subtly more unique. Learned how organza fabric behaves and how to plan, prep, and mark before execution. 2. Sheer burnout velvet top: Undoing a previous alteration and redesigning the fit of a delicate, boxy top with two finicky layers. He walked me through the full process--from prep to execution--including stitch removal, fabric behavior, needle selection, machine basics and maintenance, tools worth having (and not), measuring and marking, steaming techniques, cutting precision, darts, shaping the armpit area cleanly, secure stitching methods, and possible fixes if mistakes happen. Next session will focus on finishing the top, adding a built-in side zipper, and learning how to use my new Pfaff sewing machine. Space: Small but well-equipped with multiple machines, a few seating spots, and one curtained dressing area. Tucked into an alley among creative, independent businesses with a welcoming community feel. Extra: His gentle, golden-eyed dog, Gray, makes the space even more welcoming. He loves pets and tug-of-war and stays quietly nearby.

I recently took a $2K couture evening gown to Orhan for fit alterations (it was too big) and a…read moreredesign of one element of the dress. The fit alterations need revision as the top half of the gown does not fit and feels twisted on my body. The problems are: a. The center of the bodice is no longer in the center, clearly evident due to the sheer illusion panel in the front (see photo). b. The waist was taken in too much so it is tight and causing puckering at the back waist and the zipper is misshapen (see photo). c. The skirt of the gown has puckering (that I have experienced in the past caused by the lining not being adjusted correctly when the dress was shortened). Orhan said he left room in the waist that could be let out to fit, and he thought this would also correct the problem of the off-center bodice. He denied that the puckering in the skirt had anything to do with the lining and took great offense to my blaming the puckering on his workmanship. He said there is no puckering. The puckering all the way down the diagonal front seam is obvious (see photo). He agreed that he would address problems a. and b. at no further charge as I already spent $650 for the original alterations. In the same sentence he also offered to refund my money. Then he threw out a zinger...he said "I think you have had a problem with us from the beginning". I wasn't sure if he was accusing me of ethnic racism or something else. I told him of my long history with Erol and Feliz before the business was sold to him and his partner, and he said that Erol and Feliz were good business people but horrible tailors, and that he was the excellent tailor. He repeated "you have had a problem with us from the beginning". My husband spoke up this time because I have been unfailingly polite to him and everyone in his shop. I did want him to fix the dress so it was wearable but after him going down this path I decided to take the refund and leave. When someone claims to be "the best", "an expert", "tradition of quality", holds considerable experience in dress alteration services", and charges the prices they do, they should expect to be accountable when there is a substandard outcome, especially when working on such an expensive garment. I took photos and measurements of the altered dress because the naked eye doesn't always see everything, and this seemed to offend him too, but it helped me understand why the dress felt twisted. He should have been embarrassed by the work product, not angry at me. I do not know if the gown can be fixed. The two shoulders are no longer the same width. The left front bodice is not the same length as the right front bodice when measuring shoulder seam to waist seam. Same problem in the back of the bodice which clearly does not have a level horizontal waist seam anymore (see photo).

As he knows English is my second language, therefore, my grammar may not be perfect. This may reflect racism within this organization. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- -Jessy responded to my review with lies. Just think twice before you hire his services. The business owner left the items outside of a building after collecting the EXTRA money. GREAT PRACTICES !!! Good Job Jessy I recommend that anyone utilizing his services refrain from advance payment, as he consistently employs policy justifications to increase charges. 1. If he was at my residence for an extended duration removing the curtains, why was there no comment at that time? He charged me the full amount at that time. Also, he charged me extra to take them down and put them back. He did not put them back. 2. Should he have found any urine or like material on the curtains, why did he not reach out to me? he worked for over 5 weeks with the items. 3. He is lying, he did not deliver on time. He was late 3 or 4 days. 4. My behavior was not hostile. I inquired regarding several matters: the additional fee for reinstallation (despite prior payment), the urine issue (never mentioned until the day before), and the debris charge (given my offer to handle it). 5. He blocked me from Facebook and Insta so I couldn't add a review. No wonder why he only has good reviews on his website. I told him "I will pay the extra, BUT this is not fair". I said: "I will add this type of practice to your review, so people won't go blindsided to your services". I paid the extra charges, and as soon as I paid, He send me an angry text saying " I will leave the items at the door of your building". He had no idea if i was there or not. He did not care just to leave plastic bags outside the building. One more time: he waited till I paid his extras, and then he left the items outside the building. He scammed me! ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- -Moises---- WARNING - WARNING - WARNING I recently hired "Trim and Proper" to do curtains for my apartment. The total I was quoted to pay was around $750 to $800 so, as you can see this was not a cheap job that i was having done. I dealt with Jesse specifically. To say the least, this was a traumatizing experience. After asking questions about additional charges that were dropped on me, he proceeded to attack me regarding the fee's; he accused me of being difficult to work with, lashing out at me over text messages and adding fake fee's to my bill, including pet feces clean up. I am unsure where she got this notion. The job was supposed to be measurements, creation and hanging the new curtains. Once I started to question these phantom charges, he sent me a message basically saying I did not read the terms. Yes, there were terms, but he was lying about the fee's she was adding to my invoice. I begged him to honor our original quote, but she was not giving in. I told himthat I would write him a bad review and his response was that since i was going to leave a bad review, he did not have to commit to our agreement. Guess what? My curtains were left in front of my apartment building, on the curb in TRASH BAGS. And just so everyone knows, I paid the invoice in full despite the traumatizing experience he placed upon me. I am now left with trash bags and wrinkled curtains that I was trying to have hung for my family thanksgiving meal. See pictures attached. I also have text messages. Way to go "Trim and Proper". I really hope that she comes to her senses and realizes this is horrible ethics before it's too late for his business.

I was so so so nervous picking someone to do my wedding alterations but they were so great here. So we went back the next day and it was busy but our dresses were ready. The whole process of checking out was confusing. Both of the dresses that we took there just didn't fit how we wanted them to and we paid to much for what we got. Then when I went home and tried on the dress again I noticed a 2 inch hole where they were supposed to take my dress in. So overall very disappointing.
