I can say that I'm not the one to like or eat sushi, but when I tell you I bought the Mexican Fiesta roll and it changed my entire look on sushi. It was the best I've eaten. What a great addition to the area! We've eaten here several times and each time has been good food and friendly, fast service. Prices are kind of high and their seaweed salad is noticeably meh, but otherwise, no complaints here! Dining room is comfortable and spacious. The recommended review that shows for me when searching for this video talks about getting sick from the food, but that hasn't been our experience at all. Heard about this place in Waukegan to get sushi and we got surprised the first time coming. It has a drive thru if you can believe it. Master Sushi may be a misnomer of a name but it still wasn't that bad though. A cheaper option but not crappy flavor. There was actually quite a lot as far as portions. Coming here and finding out there was a drive thru was making us feel uneasy about it. It's got a dining area inside, and you order at the counter covered in big pictures. This for sure wasn't a high end place, but it still ended up having okay taste. Good enough. It's about $8 for a roll. The Avocado Roll is the one for vegetarians. All the others have meat or seafood, which is the one bad thing about it. The roll was good though. Got to say it was better than expected. It's located on Grand Avenue at McCaree. 5 stars for Master Sushi in Waukegan! The staff are very friendly and make your bowls very fast here. I only tried 2 bowls this time, but they also have a bunch of rolls and a few appetizer options. I dined in, but thought it was cool they had a drive thru for sushi I have never saw that before anywhere for a restaurant like this. The fish is extremely fresh and the portions are good, there are plenty of tables inside to dine in and it's very clean and new looking. When I first started coming here, I would order in person. The cashier would let me know that since I ordered the grilled shrimp bowl and would take of things, I could substitute it for something else. I chose mango and it was an amazing choice. Then, when I would order through the drive thru, SOMETIMES they would add it. Other times they'd "forget". Today, I ordered again and asked the cashier if they added the mango and he said no bc the owner said they couldn't add it because it was an extra cost. I told him that in the app it does not give you that option. He said he knew that but that the owner has been lazy and procrastinated making that change in the app. He also mentioned I am not the first person to mention that. I don't mind paying extra for it but it's not good that it's not an option in the app and that they refuse to substitute it when asked. They should listen to their clients since this seems to be a popular choice. I don't plan on coming back here again - sucks that they have to lose a customer due to poor and lazy management. read more

I stopped by master sushi just to try it out. I ordered myself the sushi burger, I got the kids nuggets, and the kids meal. The sushi burger sounded like a cool thing to get, but it was a little tough to eat. The sauce on top was cute but hard to not get it all over your hands. The burger was tasty. The kids loved their food. For the kids meal you get a small roll, an egg roll, and a capri pouch. The service was good, the cashier was helpful, and gave us the most popular picks. We dinned in, it seemed like the drive through was really busy. We waiting about 25 mins for our food. Next time it might be better to go through the drive through for less of a wait time. read more

I must admit I approached this sushi restaurant with caution due to the 'drive in' concept, however after friendly guidance from the nice girl working the counter I enjoyed a delicious grilled salmon rice bowl. Overall it's a unique take on a sushi place. There's some creative items on the menu. If you're looking to try something different, but not necessarily amazing tasting sushi then you won't have a problem with the food. I just feel like it should be more flavorful considering the interesting ingredient lists on these rolls. I also noticed the Spider Roll seemed like it was missing some ingredients & maybe had replacement ingredients as well? Bathroom also was unkept and pretty gross. Since it's fairly new I would think they would want to make a better impression. It's a brand new place so I'm sure it'll take time to perfect what they're trying to do.
