We had L&S give us a quote on a new roof. Gentleman showed up in basketball shorts and t shirt in the middle of winter. Didn't go on the roof for inspection, didn't go in the attic for inspection. Simply climbed 2 steps up the attic ladder breaking a step on the ladder following it up with a comment "this is why I don't go in attics!". Shined flashlight and said "yup you need a new roof!", some attic inspection that was. Gentleman was more concerned about what homeowners did for work to determine a price for quote. Don't flag my review simply because you don't agree with it, practice better business and you'll get better reviews.

I recently contacted ASR to request copies of the original contract and warranty. I was told that neither document was available because of a software system change. The only record I received was a receipt showing the installation date and amount paid, and even the last name on that receipt was spelled incorrectly. The lack of the original contract and warranty makes it difficult to verify what work was performed, what materials or terms were included, and what responsibility ASR accepted for the installation. Providing only an incomplete receipt was not an adequate substitute for the original documentation. During the same conversation, the representative told me that the warranty had to be transferred within one year of my father's death. However, I had no way of knowing that ASR had installed the roof until recently, after contacting numerous roofing companies in an effort to identify who had performed the work. I also contacted the city and was told that there is no roofing permit on file for my address. I understand that permit records can depend on the age and circumstances of the work, but the absence of any permit record adds to my concerns about the documentation and history of the installation. The lady representative stated that she had sent the receipt to my home. After waiting approximately three weeks without receiving it, I called back to follow up. I spoke with another employee to determine whether there might be additional information on file and to ask whether my name could be added to my deceased father or have the existing records transferred to me. Rather than assisting with that request, the original lady representative (3 months on the job) was on the phone line with the current representative (3 way call) and accused me of "going behind my back" by speaking with another employee. Her response was unnecessarily hostile, rude and unprofessional and made a reasonable attempt to resolve the matter feel like a personal confrontation on her. I was left feeling dismissed rather than helped. I understand that records can be affected by software changes and that warranties may have specific transfer requirements. However, the missing contract and warranty, the incorrect information on the only receipt provided, the unclear warranty/transfer process, the lack of a permit record, and the poor customer service together left me extremely disappointed. I expected a company that installed such an important part of my home to maintain accurate records and respond to legitimate customer concerns professionally. Based on this experience, I would be very hesitant to recommend American Standard Roofing.

Low bids are usually associated with cutting corners and low quality. Our only complaint, if you can call it a complaint. is that they are very busy and it is difficult to get on their schedule. He was right on with his estimate and showed up and got to work. We worked out with him ahead of time the design, the steps, the color, height, etc. If he had questions while working on it, we always discussed next steps to make sure there were no surprises. The biggest thing is John is on the job when work is being done and he doesn't sub it out to others. He and his team worked their butts off whenever they were on site. There were a few days in between, since forms need to be made, concrete has to cure, aggregate needed exposing and other activities. So the whole process took about 3 weeks, but we were never concerned that he wouldn't be back to do the next step. He kept us informed every step of the way. Plus - he just seems like an all around great guy, very personable and good workers on the job with him. Our patio is gorgeous, everyone loves it and so do we. We would hire him for any project if we needed work done again.

One of the driveway slabs of concrete near the fence had a buried tree stump that prevented them from completing the job. Totally understandable. Kevin told me if I get rid of the tree stump he'll come and finish the job and give me a good deal when I'm ready. Again totally understandable. I foolishly paid him the total balance for the entire job even though they didn't do everything that was promised with the expectation they'd come back and finish the job they were paid for. Big mistake. I've been contacting Kevin for now over a year and half trying to get him to do the right thing and finish the work. He has upselled me on a new cost to get the remaining job done after I have already paid him. I reluctantly agreed because of the position I'm in and he still hasn't honored his commitment to completing the job despite me agreeing to pay him twice for the same job. He called me on the phone in November and gave me his word he would make it right. Still nothing. Just a repetitive cycle of ghosting and poor communication. The driveway is chipping already and flaking to the point I will have to pay for repairs on top of trying to get the job done. This job was done in July 2024. Very frustrating and downright insulting that this company doesn't honor their commitments and disappears on you. I paid 12k for the entire project and it is devastating when a contract company can't deliver on the work they promised but have no problem taking all your money from you. To these companies 12k may not seem a lot but to the everyday person like me who works a normal job this is a huge amount of money to spend that is taking me years off to pay, all with the job undone. All you ever ask is for people to do the right thing and this company hasn't. If I were a new customer I would have them sign a binding document that holds them to the entire scope of the project otherwise they might disappear on you like they did with me. Paul Jr was on site and they worked diligently and professionally every day. Our job was more than just paint! There was alot of carpentry detail done!! Adding custom window "framing," corner trims and my FAVORITE PART, cedar shake shingles to the covered porch with custom built pillars!! It adds to that custom look!!!
