Our experience there was so positive and the attention that we received was so good that we decided to have our 2nd baby there as well. We live in Ottawa but were happy to make the drive out there in order to receive the good service that your hospital provided for us. We really wanted to have the same doctors and nurses attend us for the 2nd.

The buildings are not modern, but everything is clean and well taken care of. We could not be happier with the care that she received there. This hospital is Amazingly organized and well maintained. They actually care about each and every patient they see. Shoutout to Dr Laviolette he really knew what he was doing and prescribed me the best antidote for my sprained foot. The service is quite fast and wonderful and totally happy with The Ontario healthcare system. I was worried they would refuse me as I am a quebec resident but to my surprise they greeted me with happiness and kindness Due to covid, they didn't allow me to be with any company so it was lonely in there.. but it was super well managed and they clear you in categories.. I was in the green zone so I was pretty much separated from the really sick patients and that made me super at ease. Definitely recommend this hospital. Thank you for being there for me when I needed care I am super grateful and happy :)

BUT for a non-specific visit to the ER, I would head for Kemptville. It's an excellent little community hospital, easy to get to, from the southern reaches of Ottawa, and they have competent and efficient staff, day and night. I've been there on my own behalf, and we took my mother-in-law there twice while she was living with us. On all three occasions, there was almost no waiting, and the triage and examination were professional and courteous. There's a reason that a LOT of people in the southwestern end of Ottawa choose Kemptville hospital when they can get there on their own. Only part of that reason is the normal lack of crowding and fast service. When it's an emergency, though, you let the ambulance dispatch and crew decide where to go. That's what professionals are for. If I was 'in extremis' and they said they wanted to take me to Kemptville hospital, I wouldn't object. I think the person who gave Kemptvill District Hospital a one-star review must have been having a bad-hair day.
