This review is long overdue. I've been coming here for a few years for both asian body and deep tissue massages, and while I've had a few good sessions in the past, my recent experiences have just been disappointing. For one, they spend way too much time on the gentle warm-up phase. The initial 20 minutes of a one-hour session are just light compressions over the blanket, which feels like they're just running down the clock. It leaves much less time for the actual technical massage work. Honestly, I could pay $5 to sit on an electric massage chair at the mall and it would be equivalent to this part of the massage. The bigger issue however, is pressure inconsistency. My shoulders and glutes always get the most focus by default, and often to the point of being painful. Sometimes they'll spend the majority of my remaining session drilling into the same sore spot, unless I beg them to move on. Meanwhile, the rest of the body (arms, hands, head, legs, and feet) gets only a very rushed, light pass at the end. To be fair, I even asked the front desk about the difference between their Asian body massage and a full-body deep tissue. I was told that Asian body is only light-to-medium pressure, and that I'd need to pay extra for deep tissue if I wanted more intensity. I actually prefer stronger pressure overall, which is why I mostly book deep tissue. But deep tissue should still mean a balanced, full-body session, not just excessive focus on one or two areas for most of the appointment. I've had excellent deep tissue massages in the past where the therapist maintained steady, firm pressure throughout and gave every area the right amount of focused attention. Compared to that, the massages here are a huge disservice. Communication doesn't help much either. I do speak up, but most of the therapists seem to struggle with English. That's fine in itself, I'm not looking to chat, but it becomes a problem when I try to tell them what I want. If I politely ask them to ease up on one area and later request for more pressure on another, they often get confused and give up. After a few requests, they stop responding and I end up just trying to get through my massage rather than actually enjoying it. But to be very clear, language itself isn't the issue here--the best massages I've received were in Asian countries where I didn't speak the local language, and yet they still knew how to provide a consistent massage experience. Last but not least, the front desk can be pushy and judgmental about tips. This is particularly off-putting if you've just had a session that actually left you feeling dissatisfied and unheard. Normally, tips encourage staff to provide excellent service, since better work means better gratuities. But here, a higher tip feels almost mandatory regardless of the quality of service, so it seems like there's little incentive to go above and beyond. Honestly, I used to highly recommend this business to friends and colleagues, but after several recent visits that have left me more upset than relieved, it's time to give up on this place. This place is a hidden gem! My spouse went here last month and had a massage with Sharon--she couldn't stop talking about how amazing it was for weeks. Naturally, I had to drive her back there tonight, but Sharon wasn't available this time. Still, she came out just as relaxed and happy as ever. From the moment you step in, the atmosphere is super inviting--calm, soothing colors, soft lighting, and a warm, welcoming vibe. The staff is incredibly friendly and makes you feel right at home. Even without Sharon, the experience was still fantastic. My spouse walked out with that same blissful, relaxed look on her face, and she couldn't stop talking about how great she felt. I'm not really into massages myself, but I love seeing my partner come out of there feeling like she's on cloud nine. I've come to a few conclusions in my journey for massage therapy: You know you're in the wrong place when 1) forced tips after massage are commonplace 2) they do that *plop plop* hitting crap...NO professional masseuse does this 3) they don't bother asking anything about your pain location 4) they don't ask your pain tolerance 5) they use industrial sized plain old baby oil as the default instead of some kind of herbal or minty oil 6) there's a box of Kleenex nearby 7) there's a sign that says something about asking for sexual favors 8) they are open past "normal" hours 9) you receive lackluster effort and basically an oil bath as opposed to to a thorough massage I do appreciate the glass of wine & the prices. read more

Sharon gave me my massage this evening. It was the best massage I've had in a long time on the central coast. Deep tissue along my shoulders, back, buttocks and hips, then got my thighs and calf's, I didn't know they were tight but she got in there and did wonders - she then stretched out my quads and hips/back with a side stretch. The work she did on my neck and shoulders was needed and intuitive driven. She knew when to lighten up, she didn't just go hard. It was fantastic. Had a couples 90 minute oil essential therapy session today. Out of this world. My daughter just had a baby and her stress is literally gone right now. Scheduled a 5 o'clock for 2, for 45 minutes foot massage, didn't begin until 5:13 and started as a dull movement very barely any pressure. Then my masseuse took off about maybe about two to three times for about 2 minutes each time and ended my massage at exactly 5:50. I paid 80 plus 20 dollars tip for false advertising of 45 minutes and was only worked for 37 minutes minus 6 minutes of in between break time the masseuse granted herself. Total of 31 minutes of the. Their cat could've done a better job for some catnip. No stats and the guy still has the nerve to smack his lips when it's a $20 tip as if it wasn't enough.... as the business manager tries to find all and any excuse, she should be more apologetic instead of indirectly calling me a liar about her staffs underperformances. Bottom line, this just goes to show the customer isn't always right at this facility I should have known not to make the appointment over the phone when the guy was already being rude over the phone... I have been super stressed and not threw out my back the other day, flaring up my sciatica. Along with migraines the past three days I knew I needed a massage. I looked on Yelp and Massage Yee & Spa was the first to pop up. Super nice because it was right across the street from me. I walked in to a very nice and clean unit, and a friendly greeting from the secretary. He was the one that had called me earlier to confirm my appointment. When I first booked the appointment I thought I wanted Asian Body Massage, however after indicating that I have sciatica issues and migraines currently, he suggested a deep tissue massage instead because it would work more effectively with my needs. Upon arrival he checked my temperature and confirmed that my masseuse would be on time for the appointment. He also offered me a glass of wine complimentary. Note: there is also water and other non-alcoholic beverages. However, the red wine was a great start to relax and get in the mood as I had arrived 15 minutes early. I was shown to my room where I would undress and go under the covers. Kristin greeted me a couple minutes later and got right to work. I was so amazed about how great the massage felt. She really worked the areas that I requested and found more spots that needed attention. She did full body front and back, being very respectful and delicate with her movements. I've been here before, I came back because I had a good experience. The masseuse were good, then on my last visit I would consider it my worst ever. I made an appointment, Clara was her name (not sure if it was her real name). She was wearing a mask, which is good not until I turned over found out it was on her chin. No big deal but she was sniffling from the start, dunno if she is not feeling good or what. The worst part was, she was using just one hand most of the time, interchanging with her elbow. It seems like she was being lazy, or don't feel like working. They were my legit massage place until this disappointment. And yes, I got sick the next day, started with a sore throat, and sniffles. I booked online a Swedish massage for $65/hr but when I arrived the gentleman told me he switched my appointment to a deep tissue because I put that I was in pain from my lower back and sciatica's. He failed to tell me about the price difference. $2 bucks to pay with my cc AND asked if I was going to tip. Ugh, I spent a lot more than I wanted to. I was looking forward to a good nap from relaxation but the deep tissue was painful. Reading some of the other reviews, they clearly don't pay their employees enough and rely on tips to make up the difference. read more

A Gem of a place! I got the Asian body massage combo with essential oils, and it was such a lovely massage (especially after a long and stressful week!) The atmosphere is calming and clean. When you walk in they take your temperature and offer a small glass of wine or bottle of water. The massage was amazing; always making sure you are comfortable with the pressure. The hot stones and essential oils are a really nice touch, but even without it, I think it would have still been a great experience. The prices are fair and I've never been pressured to tip, unlike some of the other places in the area. They also have military discounts! Always a good idea to book online or call ahead, as they are usually booked if you walk in, but are willing to schedule you in at a later time in the same day if they have availabilities. I was able to get a same day appt for a 30min asian body combo massage with hot stones at Massage Yee & Spa. I'm so glad they've reopened in 2021 since Covid-19 started. They are very safe, and check everyone's temperature. At the moment, you are required to wear a mask the whole time, but the temperature inside is cool so I didn't mind. While I waited I was offered both water or a glass of complimentary wine. My masseuse was friendly and at the beginning checked in with me and asked me how I liked the pressure. The music is relaxing and the ambiance is fantastic. I loved the hot stones! I plan on coming back for a massage here more regularly for some much needed self care.
