I moved to SLO county at 23 weeks pregnant, and in the middle of the COVID pandemic. It wasn't in my birth plan to move, and it wasn't in my birth plan to deliver amid a pandemic. When I got to SLO, I was in desperate need of a new labor and delivery team, and my original doula, put me in touch with Paris as a prenatal massage therapist. Paris has 15 years of experience in prenatal massage, and she gave me bi-weekly treatments that eased so many of my pregnancy pains through second and third trimester. Around the same time I started seeing Paris for prenatal massage, she completed her doula training. Being a very controlling, type-A person, I was apprehensive at first about working with someone who hadn't attended births before, but Paris and I had such great rapport, and I felt so cared for by her throughout my pregnancy, and so we hired her as our birth doula. BEST DECISION I MADE FOR ME AND OUR FAMILY. Paris was SO generous with us, taking care of both my needs and my husbands needs. We also had a 7-month old Corgi at the time, who she showered with love during our home visits. When it came time to birth my son, we called on Paris before my water broke, as I was in need of pain relief. Since Paris and I had worked together for months, she knew my body and tension points well, and quickly worked out a ton of labor pain I was experiencing (Moms, spend the money on yourself and hire her for at least 3 massages before delivery. It'll give Paris a chance to familiarize with your body patterns and it'll make a HUGE difference come labor day!). She also taught my husband techniques to manage my labor pains before leaving - since at the time (9pm) I wasn't dilated much, we asked her to come over to help with pain management, and then she drove home, only to come back about two hours later (11pm) because I'd moved into active labor! My midwife, Tanya Walker, who I also highly recommend and who's been in midwifery for 16 years, told me, "I cannot believe that was the first birth Paris attended, she's amazing and I'm totally going to refer her to my clients." So for my Type-A worriers who want someone with tons of experience, please consider that personality fit is of far higher importance. Paris is loving, compassionate, thoughtful, and generous. She's all the things I most wanted and needed in my prenatal, labor, and postpartum experience. Paris also worked with us to create a package that included massages for both my husband and me at our postpartum appointment. So she showed up with her massage table, and my husband and I each got a one hour massage about a week after our son was born. IT WAS AMAZING. Our bodies are doing tons of new things in caring for a newborn, and having some pain relief via massage in the days/weeks after labor, and not having to leave our home to have it, was game changing. I can't recommend Paris enough. Both as a massage therapist, and as a doula. I feel honored to have had her partnership through my pregnancy experience. read more

I would highly recommend using Paris for both a doula and a massage therapist. I had back labor with my first child and new a body worker would be an amazing doula for my situation. By the time I went into labor I had built up a relationship with Paris and she knew my body with all the prenatal massages I had. She worked HARD during my labor - essentially constantly pressing on my lower back. I was much more comfortable during my second pregnancy and I attribute part of that to having regular massages. I also had my partner get massages so he could get to know her and relax during the pregnancy too - this was a high selling point to him to get a doula and it's much better than telling your partner you're worried about them supporting you during birth because they have no knowledge of birth I also could relax because I knew Paris would be able to do all the things I wanted without forgetting (taking pictures, contacting people at the right time). My partner and I were SO AT EASE simply with the fact that we didn't have to make the call on when to contact our midwife. Paris came to our home for the prenatal/postpartum appointments and massages-it was great to not have to travel especially postpartum. read more

I'm 27 and have had severe chronic low back/hip/leg pain for the past 2.5 years. I've seen multiple doctors/specialist and got multiple images/scans done to figure out the root cause and reduce my pain with little to no success. I have seen so much progress in such a relatively small time just by coming here and seeing Paris, who I was referred to by my chiropractor. I am not back to 100% yet but am 100% confident I will be under Paris care. I've gained more range of motion and went from having to take muscle relaxers + anti-inflammatory medication daily to only taking anti-inflammation medication on major flare-ups which is now only about every 3-4 days. This woman is magic. Easy. I schedule out appointments and sometimes I think, "oh this is going to be easy!" And then as soon as I get on the table Paris has found 10 spots that are crazy tight. Before writing this review I only write them if I had a very bad experience more than 2 times or a good experience more than 3 times. I have never had a massage professionally done. Recently I had shoulder surgery and it's not healing as I expected. So talking with my PT having additional massage will help us keep from getting frozen shoulder.
