I have never done this before but I left J&R and went to another place nearby. I have been for plenty of massages here and without a doubt this would be the worst massage or should I say lack of massage I have received. Massages are important to me and I rely on them to keep me balanced with life and to sit there during a massage and realize that it's not going to get better is frustrating. I realized it was all over when I asked the masseuse to go harder and he said he was warming me up but alas this was not the case. Another frustrating thing is you can not make an appointment and if you do call the number someone answers and last time a lady said she would look on the cameras they have in the premises and told me no one was there - I was in my car and less than two minutes away and I rock up and there is someone well and truly into a massage and someone else sitting in the chair waiting. I left. It troubled me for a couple of days as I'm a creature of comfort and once I find a good thing I stick with it as it had ticked all the boxes. I get a massage often so fortunately, I've found a place nearby for massages but as I mentioned it's disappointing as it was my go to place for relaxation and healing.

I'm a manager myself, and deal with over 700-800 people a day so I fully understand everyone has off days. But customer service should always still feel welcoming and professional, Especially while paying premium prices 1st, the booking of the massage was quick easy and efficient. So credits there 2nd, the massage itself, I would say was bad/Below average. Not what I wanted in terms of therapeutic, or deep tissue. I understand deep tissue massages involves firm pressure, but they should not feel painful or leave someone feeling injured afterward. She actually hurt my lower left back, and left a small bruise on my bone. I left feeling exactly the same as I came in except feeling sore in a bad way. For almost 90 dollars before tip, don't waste your time coming here. I also found out afterward they offer a 45-minute option, which was never mentioned on the phone. I was only told 30 minutes or 1 hour. Customers should be given all available options upfront instead of partial information. And 3rd, she got visibly upset that the Tip wasn't "big enough" and told me "sir, the minimum has to be 20 percent", then she grabs the sign where the prices are, turns it around where there's words on the back, and as im reading the first sentence or two she quickly turns the sign back around so I couldn't read it at all. Seems to me like she forgot about the customer experience, and there was a reason I put the tip as I did. But because I felt like she really needed the money I changed it , and gave her 20 percent or at least close to it. A few extra dollars won't hurt me , but it's more so the principles. Coming from someone who is a manager, and received a bad service that ends up costing well over $100 total, these are what you need to focus on as a business. If these can't be fixed, it's time to start letting people go. -Customer experience -service quality -Communication -Professionalism All need major improvement. I Will not be coming back here again.

A good friend of mine recommended this place but sadly this place did not help at all…read more Gina tried some moxibustion, gua sha and acupuncture for my elbow pain. While the heat from the moxibustion was temporarily comforting it didn't provide much relief afterwards. I would have left my review at 3 stars if the therapist did a good job but the treatment wasn't effective, however, I seriously and honestly felt that she wasn't very competent. I told her that one of the needles really hurt, and she told me that it shouldn't. Well, it sure did, and even if she said it shouldn't, it doesn't help, physically or psychologically. Moreover, she focused exclusively on my elbow, even though I told her how it hurt at other points along the meridian. Other therapists I had been to had felt along my upper and forearm, even the shoulder, and had relieved my pain by massaging along those points, instead of directly on my elbows. TCM views the body holistically, rather than just zooming in on the area where the symptoms manifest. I am therefore very surprised and disappointed that she so narrowly focused on my elbow. When I didn't feel any better, she basically just put some ointment on, did more gua-sha. She was very vague about what the problem was ("Is it the tendon?" "Hmm, maybe." "Or could it be the muscle?" "That's possible too.") and just ended the session saying that she hoped the pain would go away in a few weeks. When I left my elbow hurt more than before, from all the rubbing ETA: Adding this in response to the owner's message: If you read my other reviews, I am not a Yelper who go about trying to hurt businesses. The simple fact is that I went and did not feel satisfied with the treatment and reported so. I had gone to other Chinese doctors with the same elbow issue, who diagnosed the problem and achieved better results, so I know what a good treatment is. The best was when a doctor stuck a needle in my right knee to relieve the pain in my left elbow. Immediate relief. That's what awes me about TCM. Moreover, a good doctor, whatever traditional she comes from, should care enough to listen to a patient's treatment history, especially when what she attempted does not help. To not listen, and then turn around and blame the patient for complicating the illness, is wholly irresponsible, and in my opinion, bad karma indeed.
