Unfortunately very disappointed with my experience today. I bought a Groupon for a 60 minute massage with one elevation add on of choice and a couple hours before my appointment I got a text my massage therapist had an emergency and wouldn't make it. I was rescheduled with someone else for an hour earlier. I added the facial massage elevation and was very excited for it and when I got there I was told my new massage therapist didn't have experience with that technique and instead she could rub aromatherapy oils on me. That didn't seem like a worthwhile elevation so I asked if she could do a hot stone or any of the other elevations and was told no she doesn't have that experience. Interesting because at the end of my massage my massage therapist recommended I try hot stone for my tight muscles and that she specializes in it. I could immediately tell my therapist was new as she seemed uncomfortable and awkward. She struggled a lot with the sheets and kept pulling at them which took from my relaxation. At one point she revealed too much skin from pulling too hard. Whenever she would finish an area she'd ask if that was enough and if she should move on which again took from the relaxation. I paid for a 60 minute massage and when I got undressed it was 2:01, but when she finished and I went to get dressed it was 2:55 so I didn't even get my full time. The place is clean and relaxing, but I'm sad that I couldn't get the full massage experience I had paid for and was looking forward to. read more

Meagan has hands of a magician. I spent 5 days in the hospital in excruciating pain. I have a slipped disk and sciatica. I have been in so much pain I thought what have I got to lose. I booked through Groupon and was lucky to get Megan as my therapist. She is very attentive and aware of the needs of her client. She made sure to check in however kept it minimal to allow me to enjoy the peace and calming music. I would go 9/10 only because I really enjoy the hot stones as part of the massage and asked specifically for extra time with hot stones. Megan did incorporate them slightly however I was expecting a nice massage with them. Please don't let that take away from her skills. Love this place! It's super clean, the front desk girls are so friendly and the massages amazing! While Maricela is my favorite, the others I've had have been excellent also. I did have one facial there but was a bit disappointed as the therapist skipped the shoulder and neck massage and the facial just so-so. However, Massage Heights has offered me a free upgrade if I were to try another facial - which I may do with a different therapist. They use Dermalogic products which are great (no animal testing) - but a bit out of my price range. I joined for the year as I wanted to commit to regular self-care. I am also very impressed with the ease of their online booking through their app. Parking in their lot can be a bit of a challenge but there is parking in the main part of the shopping center. read more

I am a Registered Nurse here in San Diego where I work with critically ill and high acuity patients. I have received massages for many years due to the strenuous nature of my job. This was not only an unprofessional massage, but I was left feeling injured. My massage therapist, Kimberly, was pushing so hard and caused so much pain that I was left with a bruise near my neck. It is unacceptable to be left bruised after a massage. I asked her to please stop getting so close to my neck. She was using finger point pressure and was placing heavy levels of pressure on areas where I have hardly any muscle or fat and leaving my right arm with tingling down my arm post massage. Furthermore, she was coughing the majority of the massage without a mask (which would not alone be enough to write a review about - but given that I was actively in pain and feel hurt post massage, the large amount of coughing in an intimate setting near me was an additional detterant.) Furthermore, I have called and spoken to someone from massage heights 3 times now asking for a copy of the paperwork I signed at the beginning, and I have just now received it. As someone who works with patients and cares for them, I believe Massage heights needs to be held accountable. I was born and raised in San Diego and have gone to wonderful masseuses in the past and would highly recommend them. Massage heights; however, is not one I would recommend. read more

This was just okay for me. The massage was a mix of feeling like I was just getting lotion rubbed on and digging deep into my muscles and pausing on it while dug in. It hurt a lot but I beared through it thinking ok maybe this is good for me... I really like my massages swedish style which is what i picked, not deep tissue. I also got an additional facial added on which was supposed to involve using stones to massage the face but for me, it was like 1 minute of massaging my face and then laying the stones on my face, on my forehead, and either side of my nose. The receptionist asked me how the facial was and I explained how it went to her and she said it was not supposed to be that way and did not charge me for it which was very nice. She also stated that the masseuse I had focuses mainly on digging into knots and there are others that are more swedish style. I wish i would've gotten a choice or been given someone who does more swedish for my swedish massage rather than someone known for deep tissue. The receptionist was very nice though offering to honor the first time guest price for me next time and made recommendations on masseuses. However, this was about 35 minutes from me and I only came here because my husband gave me a spa gift card and this was the closest one to us that accepted this spa gift card. I wouldn't go out of my way to come back personally. 3 stars for the good customer service and semi decent massage and overall ambiance but it is pretty expensive honestly. read more

In fact, of perhaps 500 massages I've had in my life, 3 of the worst have all been at Massage Heights 4S Ranch. While they've tried to work with me on this, ultimately they seem to not have a high enough standard of hiring so as to have allowed too many new, inexperienced and unqualified therapists on their staff. My husband and I have been dealing with a variety of aches and pains. After researching I decided to buy a Groupon for this location. It was kinda belated Valentine thing, but more so it was his first massage, needed a little hard holding. It was very easy to book the appt. When we arrived Jamie greeted us and helped us with the paperwork via tablet. Alex and Cathy were are therapists. They both did a great job and applied more pressure when requested. They had a breast plate that was almost like a lumbar support under my neck when I was on my back, very cool. I have never experienced that before. We both did the hot stone which was very nice. The place is modern and very clean and smelled just like a spa should. I also did aromatherapy, which was great. Because it's membership based they need to tell you about that. But I did not mind and felt no pressure. The manager Destiny also said that if we did not know yet we could use the Groupon again which is their introductory rate. I am very disappointed in my overall experience at massage heights. 1. I have found one or two out of the many therapists that I felt were actually competent and good at their job. The others, I would have to say need to reconsider what their occupation is because they're doing a disservice by putting their hands on people. 2. I remember getting a massage once by a therapist who gave me an attitude when I told her to slow down, soften her grip and not go so fast, it was like she was trying to speed her way through the process. 3. It really seems like the therapists there have no intuitive talent to recognize depth or where pain is and work on it. They function as robots. 4. My most recent experience left me actually feeling violated. I told my therapist THREE times to slow down and stop going so fast with her technique. She quickly said ok and kept doing it. She totally didn't listen at all. This is NOT ok!! If someone has a sexual trauma history and their therapist doesn't respect boundaries this is triggering and a serious violation. I should not have to tell the therapist more than once to do something. After this event-the owner Destiny called me to talk about it and acted like she wanted to hear my perspective so she could help her therapists "do better." But the issue isn't something you can instruct. They either have talent or they don't. Destiny then told me not to swear next time I come in. Excuse me, but I am an adult and I will use whatever words I want to! I was not violent, I was not directing my anger towards anyone either. And I have every right to swear! Maybe they'll turn their act around when they get SUED. Needless to say, I canceled my membership. I am happy to never have to be subjected to abusive, disrespectful so called therapists who lack basic talent ever touch me again. Oh, and this entire establishment is the same. I've been to other massage heights locations. I was actually sexually assaulted by one of the therapists who actually reached up to touch me under the sheets several times. A massage experience that started out amazing which slowly declined after becoming a member... A year ago my husband and I moved to the area and excitedly booked a couple massage at Massage Heights. Because of the initial experience we decided to both join the monthly membership package and the first couple months were great and then, it wasn't. Not only were there never any openings when we wanted to or were able to go together, (we both work full time), it was always one thing or another with this place. We would book appts and then quickly get a call, on more than one occasion, that they could only take one of us (not much of a date day together), or they had to reschedule us, or worse, couldn't take us at all. Frustrating. I had the same masseuse for months that I loved and when she left I wasn't notified or anything until my next appt. Unprofessional. The massage heights experience I have had has made me believe that this business has been super successful in growth and client acquisition but then the internal business hasn't grown to match the success. The customer service and over all experience is now lack luster as a member. Newest frustration is that I have been trying to cancel my membership now that the year I committed to is over and guess what? It's not something that can be done over phone or with a push of a button? Shocker. It has to be cleared through management. Again, frustrating and disappointing. Put a button on the app that allows you to unenroll when the contract is over. Donna at the front office, you are a gem and care about your job. That's evident in my interactions with you. This place is delightful! Today was my first time at Massage Heights, and my first massage by a male, and it was amazing. Donald has very intuitive hands and knew exactly what my body needed. My shoulders were very stiff and by the end of it my right one (had lots of tension going into it) went down dramatically. I felt like I was on cloud 9 the entire time. He was very respectful(absolutely no weird or creepy vibes), and made me feel extremely comfortable. 10/10 recommend this place and Donald as your masseuse. read more

My wife and I have been coming here for monthly massages for a year now and have enjoyed every massage we have received. They have a great monthly membership plan for a 60 minute massage that in the end saves you money so highly recommend it! The front desk staff are always so helpful. I have probably had to call and reschedule because of Covid exposures within our household and just typical schedule changes and they always are so understanding. They do book up pretty quickly so sometimes trying to schedule two massages at the same time on a weekend with not much notice was difficult, but I would just book our massages a few weeks out and would never have an issue find a day and time that worked for us. The rooms and overall environment of the location is peaceful and clean. I never felt unsafe which is important when laying face down into a massage headrest. They have hand sanitizer throughout the location. Every massage therapist we have seen has been great! I just recently had a deep pressure massage done by Crystal and it was one of the best... scratch that... THEEEE best professional massage I have ever gotten. I was actually sore when I left the building, but that GOOD kind of sore that you know that the next day you are going to finally not have that ache in your back. And my wife has never complained about any of the therapists she has had. They all seem very knowledgeable and really listen to your troubled areas and spend time focusing on those areas so you get exactly what you want out of your time. read more

I have had several massage therapists here, Jennifer and Shireen are best. Jennifer a little more patient with working out the "knots" not rushed like others. She literally nailed my problem areas and thoroughly smooth them out. When she went over the area, it's like an iron over wrinkles...OMG Jennifer you are the best. Shireen's pressure was slightly stronger and overall massage was satisfying. You will walk out like they've lifted a ton off your shoulders. I would be very happy with either Shireen or Jennifer!! My husband and I have gotten many couples massages in our years together, both high-end and cheaper places. Our experience wasn't enjoyable. First off, they take 10 minutes off of your paid time (for a 90-min massage, you only get 80 mins of passage time), fine that's pretty standard. We had a 7:30pm appt, arrived 7:15pm to fill out their fancy questionnaire even though the masseuses didn't even focus on those spots, didn't get called in until 7:40pm, we were finally undressed and under the table at 7:45pm, and they stopped our massage at 9pm on the dot as if we actually started on time at 7:30pm. Both of our masseuses were all over the place with their work, very fast in their movements, and very rough. It wasn't therapeutic or relaxing. They were also very noisy with their flip flops squeaking the whole entire time. We got a deal on Groupon but would have been pissed if we had paid the full price of $270 per person for a 90-min massage. The full price is insane for the quality of work. I was also excited to try their essential oil aroma therapy but it was literally a spray bottle and not an essential oil infusion. So yeah, our time was cut short even though we arrived early, the massage was very rough and fast, and the prices are insane for what it is. You're better off going to an Asian massage place for less than half the price for the same quality. read more

My friend and I were in town for a girls trip to San Diego. I booked a massage and facial for us which was no problem. I had my facial first and it was one of the best facials that I have ever had. I had Lisa and she was great! Very good hands, attentive, personable, and did a wonderful job advising me about my skin. I did a microdermabrasion facial and my face was so silky soft afterwards. I wish I lived closer so I can come more often. My massage, I had Shireen. Shireen was great! Her pressure was perfect. I asked for firm pressure and she was able to provide that through out the whole massage til the end. I asked her to primarily focus on my neck, shoulders, back and butt which she did. I don't usually fall asleep during massages but I was almost there! One of the best massages I have had in awhile. I would definitely recommend Massage Heights and come back when I'm back in San Diego. I'm so sad that I didn't live closer. Massage Heights in 4S Ranch - It used to be good but is now very bad. I have been with them for years. They had great therapists in the beginning and they have all since left this location due to internal conflicts. Destiny, from the front desk, is one of the worst customer service representative I have ever interacted with. She's not that pleasant to the clients in-person or on the phone. I dread getting a call from her to confirm my appointment or when she's working up at the front desk. There has been so much complaints about her but management does not do anything. They rather their clients go to another location which I am now considering. They have lost a lot of clients due to this person and they have a lost a lot of really good therapists as well. Destiny is not professional or friendly in my interactions with her. She always has to be correct in everything and is rude and this is speaking with a client doing something as simple as scheduling an appointment so I don't know how she can be confrontation about that. But she manages to make it a difficult conversation. I have switched to scheduling on line. I hope management does something about her before they lose more therapists and clients. read more
