Loved my experience at this establishment! I booked my massage session through ClassPass and it was overall a seamless experience. This was my first massage ever and I'd be lying if I said I was not scared. However the staff here made me feel comfortable and welcomed me with open arms! I loved how all the staff over communicated and was responsive if I had any questions about the process and location. I loved my masseuse she was very helpful, provided guidance of what she was doing and overall was a great conversationalist! She must have had magic fingers because once I left there smiling ear to ear feeling like a new person! She taught me so much about the body I was not aware of. Also, I loved the ambiance of the place, it gave a warm and comforting feel. I instantly felt relaxed once I was inside! I definitely recommend this place if you're looking for a great massage with great staff! I will definitely be back to get another massage! read more

Heads up: this is located within a residential building. I booked this on Class Pass, and the instructions on there made it easy to find. The vibes inside the massage room were good (running water sounds, nice and dimly lit), and the massage therapist Serita was friendly. I got a 30 minute upper body massage, which helped relax me. (This was my first massage, so I don't have much to compare it to, but I am still sore in my shoulders a day later. Not sure if this is normal or I needed to drink more water?) read more

I had an amazing DEEP tissue massage by Kieran, who addressed my concerns and understood the root cause of my tension. Many friends have recommended Kieran for massage and rolfing and I understand why! I left feeling relaxed and eager to book another massage at this cozy neighborhood spot read more

Had an otherworldly experience at massage grotto with Bijan. His style was deep, energetic and focused. He dedicated attention to being in tuned with my body and what it needed. He is a rare practitioner and was very fortunate to be able to book his services. Highly recommend. read more

You guys have got to go here at least once. This was my first experience with Kieran at Massage Grotto and it was really wonderful. The space was very cozy and quiet. You could tell Kieran was really paying attention to how my muscles were relaxing and which needed more attention. Lovely experience. read more

I had a great experience here! It was my first deep massage. Bijan was warm and welcoming, so it was easy to feel comfortable. He really listened to what I needed and I felt like I had a lot of time to relax. He's also genuinely fun to talk to. My upper back felt so much better after this massage! Lots of tension gone. I'm very grateful. I hope to go back in the future. Thank you! read more

Interesting den-like location on the bottom floor of an apartment building shared with other residential tenants. The room is warm has a fireplace. There is only one room and different masseuses have the room on different days of the week. My masseuse, James, was a good listener and asked questions to tailor the experience. read more

Magical!! I came to Zeke after a long 3 days at Outside Lands, and in short, I feel like a new person! The atmosphere is very tranquil, with running water and soothing sounds. The oils that he uses smell amazing and really awaken your senses. Zeke made sure to ask where he would like to focus on, but he also found tight spots on my body and focused on those too. It felt like I was in there for more than an hour, it was amazing! I highly recommend if you're looking for a full body massage!! My star rating: 5 - I would be a regular customer 4 - would go back again 3 - probably try a different place 2 - not very satisfied 1 - turnaround and run read more

Massage Grotto SF - Massage Near Me - San Francisco, California

Massage Grotto is the BEST in SF. As a San Francisco native with a love of massages, I've tried many a place in this city-- from high end to affordable. I've just gotta say the massages here are the best, yes even better than those I've received from high end spas. Justin is the best and is so intuitive with a gift for bodywork. I always feel brand new after his massages. I've also had Krisi a few times, and she is wonderful as well. Both are great listeners and understand the body. I aim for a massage every two weeks and will be a regular forever! Highly recommend! read more

Justin was an AMAZING massage therapist. At massage grotto, he sets up the table in front of a real fire place so the atmosphere is extremely welcoming, cozy and warm- just like his personality! I've had two massage therapists as partners, so I really know what a good massage is, and I have to say that Justin gave me one of the best ones of my life. Like most people, I have varying tolerances for pressure on different parts of my body, and Justin did a great job of not only communicating and asking what pressure I was looking for in problem areas, but also did an excellent job of being present in his massage work and noticing and flinches or tenses in my muscles and responded quickly and appropriately each time. That's really impressive and the mark of a seasoned therapist who is actively engaged in their practice. 10/10 would recommend! read more

My session at the Inner Richmond location was lovely. Krisi was very receptive in listening to my problem areas, things I've tried before, and areas I didn't want touched. She was excellent in explaining what she was planning to do for our first session, answered any questions I had before we got started, and made sure I was comfortable throughout the session. When the massage part completed, and we were recapping what she did, she made suggestions on what I could do, in addition to coming back for future sessions. Given how tense my shoulders were, if we continued our time together, she recommended that I come see her at least once a week (although, she was in no way pressuring me to do so.) She mentioned Massage Grotto does have a Package Special of 5 sessions for $400, which I think is a great deal. I'm currently incorporating that into my budget, and actively saving up for it before I make my purchase. read more

World-class deep tissue massage is what Zeek delivers, you will be blown away by his expert technique and thoughtful and responsive application to your particular muscle structure and pain points. All massage therapists are not created equal and Zeek is a top 1% professional who I feel so lucky to have found in SF. Their hours are also amazing, the best availability in the city, you can book 7 days a week up until 9 PM! Book through their website, instructions are all very clear and they take payment through venmo. If you want more than 60 min massage just book multiple sessions back to back and shoot a text over to the business number to give a heads up. The massage room is super clean and cozy, with a fireplace and very comfortable massage table. Zeek even provided a bottle of water after the massage. On top of the fantastic technique and communication with me, he used the most amazing creams - hands down beats any other massage oil or cream I've come across. It will make you feel like you're floating on a cloud, I think maybe it's arnica with something (will ask next time). I get deep tissue massages very often and have been to some of the best spas in the US, including at the Waldorf Astoria in Maui, Ritz Carlton in New York, and tops spas in SF and LA. Zeek's massage is not beaten by any of them. (Which is no surprise after learning Zeek came from the Ritz Carlton spa and was one of the go-to therapists for John Travolta's visits to SF. John Travolta, if you're reading this please don't visit SF too often so the rest of us can book with Zeek ) There are two therapists here, Justin and Zeek ; I've only gotten massage from Zeek so far. read more

Can't wait to go back. I appreciated that Justin had a Feng Shui consultant guide him on how to set the space up. The wood-burning fireplace was cozy and the entire room was comfortable. Justin focused on the areas of tension I mentioned and made sure he was applying the amount of pressure I was comfortable with. More than any other masseuse I've gone to, he moved my arms and legs and head around to loosen them up and stretch them, which felt amazing. I also loved the rosemary and peppermint essential oil he used. He gave me great ideas of how to relax and relieve tension from my muscles. I can't wait to go back! read more

Always grateful for my monthly massages with Evan! A friend recently gave me a massage gift card to a high-end spa where the massages cost over $200. The massage I had there was comparable, if not worst, to my affordable sessions with Evan. He is always very kind and attentive- making sure to check in with me throughout about the amount of pressure. He remembers particularly tight or sensitive areas from previous sessions and gives suggestions on how to prevent tension in the future. I always leave feeling refreshed and relaxed! read more

I am writing this right after getting an amazing massage from Zeek today while waiting for my husband to get his hour of bliss. Zeek is hands down one of the best in the art of bodywork combining masterful technique and intuition. As a 40-something woman, I've had my fair share of massages and have tried a bunch of places in SF (lived here 4 years). Somehow an hour massage with Zeek feels like much longer. We are going to be regulars for sure! read more

Zeek is a kind and skilled massage therapist. I have had on and off neck pain that was compounded with minor whiplash from recent car wreck. The massage he gave me such relief, my neck was less painful and more mobile. He does a fantastic deep tissue and can adjust the massage to problem areas. Not only is the massage relaxing but also extremely beneficial. I am happy to have found this place after being in search for a massage therapist in SF for a while. read more

[Classpass review] NO CALL NO SHOW. Justin's system is not properly connected to Classpass and expects users to go through a terribly complicated flow - booking through CP and then again on his website to make sure that appointment time is available. I never received a message from saying he was already booked for the time slot I booked on Classpass. When I arrived, I waited for 30 mins and Justin did not show up. Didn't answer the phone or text back. He messaged me later on saying that he was vacation and that is the process to schedule a massage. When I book on Classpass, it should be simple - I use it for convenience so I don't have to deal with every provider's website and booking system. So Justin needs to get it together. He is also very terrifying/aggressive in that he threatened to sue my friend for a Classpass review she didn't even write. Sounds like someone who can't handle feedback to me. I wouldn't make an appointment here, simply out of fear that Justin will go from normal to scary. read more

Evan is amazing and always gives me the best massages! He always asks how I am feeling and areas to work on . He also always communicates with me throughout my massage about pressure and pain. If you need a a amazing massage, go here read more

I had the most amazing massage with Zeek! I found GrottoSF through ClassPass but now I'm a full convert to a direct patron of theirs. I had such an incredible experience at the Massage GrottoSF. Honestly, it was the best massage I've ever received. Zeek took excellent care of me and we had an inspiring delightful chat. He made me feel welcome, comfortable, and valued. I could tell this was the type of place where you could chat with the massage therapist OR relax is silent serenity. I am one who usually has a challenging relationship with massages, and most of them are painful/unenjoyable; however, Zeek helped me find the perfect amount of pressure. So much so that I was able to melt into the chair, feel my tension leave, and had such an enjoyable experience. 10/10 would recommend and I plan to visit again soon! read more

Great massage by zeke who clearly knows what he's doing. Relaxing space with good aroma and music

Great massage! Cool "grotto" environment with fireplace, super comfortable massage table, great aromas and heating pads. Justin was very friendly and responsive to feedback, customizing the massage based on injury. Also a nice/convenient location in a beautiful building on castro st. Good price booking through ClassPass but probably better to pay directly for future sessions as it's a better deal for Justin. Thanks and highly recommended read more

Truly exceptional massage experience. I was toiling whether to book or not for this weekend.... and I'm so glad that I did. I needed it more than I realized! Justin was truly welcoming and a consummate professional at his skill. He acquainted himself with me by asking of past services and any areas of focus that he draw his attention to while perform the massage. The studio was comfortable and set for a relaxing 60-minute session. I felt completely removed of tension and stresses of the past week after the massage and appreciate Justin for helping me to arrive back at my core. Please consider his services if you are looking for a very congenial person and a masseuse of incredible talent. It will be a worthy return on the investment in yourself. read more

Justin's new space is truly amazing. It is warm, cozy, and inviting. That fireplace! I felt really heard and the massage felt customized to my needs. The areas that were really bothering me (for days/weeks) were worked out by the end of the massage. I wasn't feeling my best going in, but by the end my spirits were totally lifted and I had a lovely chat with Justin, who is incredibly friendly and passionate about his craft. I cannot recommend the Massage Grotto enough. read more

Zeek is hands down the absolute best masseuse in the country, possibly the planet. My partner and I are attorneys so we are constantly at our desks which leads to a bit of back pain and stress. We see Zeek several times a month and it's made a world of difference. Zeek is professional and an absolute expert. I will never go to any other masseuse in the City. I cannot recommend Zeek enough. read more

I've been to over a dozen massage therapists in SF since moving here 3 years ago and Justin is hands down one of the best massage therapists I've work with. Instead of applying one technique (swedish, deep tissue, sports massage), Justin incorporates many forms of massage therapy and tailors it to address areas of tension, knots, stress, etc. It was a healing experience and I'll definitely be back! read more

Originally had an appointment set up but my could not make it due to friend going to the hospital. I immediately messaged Justin to let him know if I can move it but the guy was quite unwilling. I understand that you have a 12 hours cancellation but could use some flexibility. Someone not sympathetic about this is someone who I cannot recommend or go with. read more
