First time visit, I had 2 gift cards to use so I was happy I could use them for a massage and a facial. I'm not a big massage person. Charles made me a believer! I explained I had woken in the night with a bad migraine for 6 days straight. He felt tightness in my lower neck which I did not and he worked his magic!! I was so elated to not have a migraine this morning and he is fantastic . My facial was with Jessica and she was equally as lovely. So to be fully transparent, I do have a membership here and I do enjoy the service. I get a massage once a month or two months at the very latest. Charles is amazing and communicates very well to what your problem areas are and how to fix them. But, they NEVER answer the phone. I cannot imagine it is that busy to where they can't answer phone calls like at any time of the day. The website isn't the easiest and it's a little bit outdated so the least they could do is answer the phone. Lastly, they changed from Massage Green Spa to Hand and Stone and the prices skyrocketed. I think what kept me going was the fair price for the services provided. It wasn't a gradual increase, it was all at once. Everything is an add on. I've had other massages that include some perks in the price. This one has absolutely none so to be charging $120 for a non-member massage is completely unjustified. Take yourself somewhere who offers more for the same price locally. Additionally, you can no longer bring friends with your membership credits like massage green spa allowed. Where should I start? Let's start with the fact that my appointments have been canceled now twice- in a row. My first appointment was canceled 6 weeks ago due to the "massage therapists" personal issues. Then the reschedule which was supposed to be today, just 2 hours from now has now also been canceled. Now the excuse is the therapist is claiming a back injury. I'd steer anyone that's looking to buy gift cards, or gift certificates away from this place. They're clearly understaffed and overwhelmed. When I asked about returning the nearly $300 in gift cards in my possession, I was told I could always "Gift" these cards to someone else or go to a location that's 45/60 min away with traffic. Seriously? If I regifted these cards it would be the same issue. The person would constantly get canceled last minute and not be able to book for literally months at a time, what a headache. Michelle the manager is always so helpful and so sweet. She goes above and beyond to make sure any issues with billing or appointments are resolved as quickly as possible. And, I also don't really want the say this as I might not be able to book with him once I do but James, the newest massage therapist at this location, is absolutely amazing. I have been looking for someone who really knows how to do sports massage as I am very active in not only work but at the gym. He has honestly help to release a lot of the knots I've had lingering as well as hit some new ones I didn't even know were there. I highly recommend him if you're looking for pain relief. Full transparency I was going to use my monthly credit union hat was debited from my account already and end the membership however after my experience with Starr I have decided to stay and exclusively use her as my massage therapist! The whole experience was okay. Not great, not bad, just okay. I've purchased a Groupon for a 60 minute massage with an option of sauna, so with the sauna, I thought it would be a pretty good deal, but no. First, I arrived 15 minutes early to fill out paperwork like they asked me to, but really 5 minutes enough to fill out one sheet of paper and check in. Then the therapist came out a few minutes after the appointment time to take me in to get ready, so really, you don't get the full 60 minutes. It says on the little fine print somewhere that there's 10 minutes for dressing time, but I still feel cheated on time. Second, I asked the front desk about the sauna option, and she said I can't because it's already full and I had to book ahead of time. They failed to tell me that when I called to book. I thought that was unfair, if I knew, I would have booked another day to have the sauna option that I paid for. And lastly, when I was getting the massage, I was able to feel relaxed and almost fell asleep, BUT I noticed there were a lot of pauses as if she was waiting for time to pass by. The therapist just placed her hand with light pressure on my leg and didn't move for a good while. I know it may sound like she's just doing a pressure point, but it wasn't that. I've had many massages before, and this felt more of just killing time and resting. Also, I've mentioned to her that I want to focus on my feet, but she did not work on my feet at all, which was very disappointing. His deep tissue technique went way down into the core & root of my sciatica. I went in limping & came out walking straight. No technique, no pressure, would not adjust pressure when requested. When he first walked into the room he asked if I wanted the table heater on. I stated no. He left it on. I have to ask 3 MORE times before he actually turned it off. He wanted me to start my massage on my side laying on the WEDGE!!! I have had plenty of prenatal massages and this is just crazy. When rolling over, he didn't hold the sheets. So being 8 months pregnant, I had to roll myself while making sure the sheets didn't fall off the bed. He used so much oil I felt like a slip and slide. I paid to have oil rubbed lightly all over my body. I expressed my concerns to the nice lady up front, but she was "shocked" at what I had to say. Like he has never had a complaint before. Don't recommend this place. The receptionists are rude. I was hung up on then they stopped answering the phones. My mom called and was able to get an appointment 5 weeks out. The day before our appointment, we get a call saying our appointment was canceled because they no longer accept Groupon & if we wanted a refund, we would need to contact Groupon. Came in for a couples massage a week ago and it was not a great experience. I can honestly say it was the most awkward, uncomfortable and least relaxing experience I've had. The therapist weren't very welcoming and were rushing our pre-massage consultation. They asked what areas we were needing some focus on and we told them which is something that is always asked. So that's was fine. However, normally we still receive a full body 60 min massage with a little extra attention in the mentioned area at the beginning of the session. This session however, was horrible. My therapist strictly focused on those areas I mentioned at the beginning and nothing else. She was very rough even after I told her 3 times to go lighter. My whole massage just felt so tense and uncomfortable, the complete opposite of relaxing. I was sore and still hurting from it the whole week and it's just now somewhat going away. As for my partner he too did not have a very relaxing and pleasant experience due to his massage also being uncomfortable. Also, along with our experience checking out was not very friendly either. We understand Covid has changed things but there is no reason for customer service and lack of a quality massage should be hindered. We are still paying the same rate therefore, except to have quality massage and a relaxing welcoming experience. We don't want to return but unfortunately, we have massages built up due to Covid. I've been going to this location since they opened and have had ups and downs with this location. Had issues with a previous manager but deleted my review once they were under new management, as the issues were resolved and I didn't think it represented the business anymore. Over the years, I will say the massage therapists have been a lot more consistent! It used to be hit or miss with therapists, but no matter who I see now they are good. Turn over tends to be a little high now. Every time I find someone I REALLY like, they leave, so I just have seen whoever I can and I generally like them. This is the main reason for my review- I have recently moved and was planning on cancelling membership. The past 3 times I have called, the receptionists have been usually rude. Today I was actually brought to tears. Unfortunately, I didn't get any names of the girls, but it's been different girls each time. I couldn't even finish my sentences before she would cut me off to say things like "well it sounds like you are very busy and don't have time to schedule an appointment right now." I was stunned... I called and left a voicemail 7 days ago and had just gotten a call back today. And I was sort of taken off guard that the girl didn't realize I had called a week ago. Anyways, this was not the first instance of a rude receptionist. About a month ago, I called and tried to make an appointment and she literally hung up on me after saying they didn't have availability on the first date I was requesting... didn't even ask me for an alternative date. I have been suffering from sciatica for over 9 months with no relief. I decided to see if a massage could help. Booked an hour and half at the introductory price so I thought it was a good value. I can't say how happy I am that I was scheduled with Shelly! She was amazing!! I have had the most relief to my back, leg and foot than I have had in months. She knew exactly what to do, applied the exact right amount of pressure! She is incredible at what she does!! I am considering the membership program just to come back to see Shelly! On Friday, October 7th, I had a massage appointment. Originally, I was scheduled with Julie, however, upon my arrival the receptionist advised that Michelle would be your massage therapist. What a mistake, my wife could have done a better massage. I advised Michelle that the areas I wanted massage were my shoulders, neck and traps. Once the so called massage started, Michelle failed. I went in a few days ago for a massage after hearing that they were back open from being closed for a few months due to COVID-19. Everyone was extremely friendly and accommodating. I also appreciated all of the rules put in place for everyone's safety. My massage therapist was Nino and he did a WONDERFUL job!! I asked for a deep tissue massage and he did a great job of getting to all of my knots and focusing on the areas I felt were problems for me. He even discovered some in areas that didn't bother me nor did I realize I even had knots in before. He was very knowledgeable and even discovered and helped with problems I had been having, like circulatory issues in my arms, without me even speaking about them. This business has been a huge disappointment for me. My kids put their money together to give me a gift card for this place. I was in a car accident that left my vehicle disabled while on the way to my appt in July 2023. I called from the freeway in my crashed car and let them know I wouldn't make it. They deducted the massage from my gift card anyway calling it a no show. I've been strung along for several weeks with the promise someone will look at the charge and get back to me. I've followed up several times and this still has not been resolved. And no one has initiated any type of contact to discuss this with me. Do not recommend this place. Very disappointed. Wrote the corporate office a letter to let them know what a terrible business plan they have in place. I have been to hundreds of massage places throughout the years and this has to be one of the worst ever. I spend thousands of dollars at professional places across the country. If a business cannot get you the courtesy to even get back to you, this is a bad business. My next steps is contacting the BBB as it has been long enough. I am so upset with Massage Green Spa. I have repeatedly requested that my membership be terminated since they were shut down due to Covid 19. I emailed, left voicemails, and spoke to an employee to request termination of my account. Massage Green continued to charge my credit card so I cancelled my credit card. So today 8/9/2020, Massage Green went back in my files and used a debit card that was previously on file but no longer authorized for use. They had time to go back in my file to find another card but no time to respond to my numerous request to terminate my membership since March. Even when Massage Green reopens I will never go here because they do not care about their customers. They only care about collecting fees. Even 24 Hr Fitness stopped collecting fees while closed. I'm so done with this place-I've been a long time customer and have seen many good and bad changes through the years. At this point all i see us a sub par facility with the rudest front desk team I've ever encountered. The used to have some great estheticians and massage therapists but apparently they have all left. They used to have product available to purchase but now there is next to nothing. This visit included a non working bathroom that led to a feeling of a less than clean facility. The esthetician was awful. I booked a 90 minute. She started about 15 min late and ended about 10 min early. Her technique was awful and there were long periods of time when i was just left lying on the table in the dark for an unknown reason. Unfortunately due to COVID19 I've had to cancel future appointments but I am looking forward to getting back to this. The lady who (I can't think of her name at the moment) but she is a cool black lady gives a VERY good massage! She puts her back into it for real! Like many I have lower back pain and at times I feel like I'm hunched over or I'm not standing as straight up as I should. Well the moment I leave from that massage....I have the best posture! I mean I am walking like I'm a soldier marching in formation!!! Health and wellness are so important now more than ever! You have to take care of your mind and body so why not start with treating yourself! The only issue I have is that if you become a member, as I did they want to continue to charge you during this virus situation! I don't think that is fair and I'm truly sorry for inconvenience this has caused many small businesses BUT you can not continue to charge people monthly fees without providing a service!
