Staff wearing masks, masked required on those getting massages, temperature checks, over the phone check in, contactless payments, etc. All safety precautions being followed. Over the phone check in was super easy. You call before entering and the ask the questions that you would normally fill out on paper, they take your payment over the phone, so when you're done you can just leave. They are also not waiting for you with water after the massage due to covid. Had a 90 min massage today with Kyle. He was wonderful and massage felt great. Firm to deep tissue massage, which he was able to do with ease. Had lots of knots that he took his time to work out the best he could. Always checking in throughout that everything was ok and temperature of blankets were ok. Also called ahead of time and talked to Erin when booking appointment. I was traveling from IN visiting family and we discussed precautions and what I would need to do before entering so I wasn't blindsided coming from another city with different precautions. I'm so glad I gave this place a try! Some of the reviews made me hesitant but I think people need to visit more than once and try different therapists to find the right fit for them. Massage quality can be subjective and therapists approach it with different styles. I've tried 3 different therapists so far, all great, and will choose based on what I think I need that particular visit. Some may be better than others but they don't represent all the other therapists that work there. The front desk staff is very friendly and I always look forward to seeing them when I walk in. You'll be asked if you want a warming neck pillow and brought into a small lounge to wait for your therapist. My experience with all 3 have been friendly, comfortable, and great communication. They always check if the pressure is right and if you request areas to focus on. After the massage, you're presented with a warm towel and cup of water. I love the fact that I can book online and they have a membership program. The reason Massage Envy doesn't get a 5-star rating is due to some of the fine print (I think this applies to Massage Envy as a whole, not specifically this location). For example, regardless if you book a 60 min or 90 min massage, your massage is 10 minutes shorter than that. 60 minutes means 5 min (chat about areas to focus/how you feel) + 50 min (massage) + 5 min (give feedback/check-out). If you join the membership, be aware that it is for a year contract, and then goes month to month. Otherwise, still highly recommend this place and will be back often! read more

High prices. Pressurized sales pitch. Poorly trained therapists and very uneven services. This place needs to get a real manager and work on customer service issues big time. I tried 4 therapists here in search of one that might work to relieve a frozen shoulder condition. I found one that was great -- but then she left and after that it was massage therapists roulette. The place pays poorly so the good therapists leave fast and go into private practice. What's left is a pool of part-time, poorly trained workers who's skill level is too low to build a private clientele. If you need a massage therapist for health reasons just don't go here. Also, do not sign their "membership" agreement. Once you do you'll be stuck with a menagerie of poorly trained workers and no consistency in the service you will get. Bad ju-ju. I am a membership holder that just moved back to Vermont. I had a great client/therapist relationship at the massage envy O went to in Tucson AZ and after reading these reviews I was slightly nervous to switch locations. Im just going to walk through my experience. Entering the building: The ladies at the front desk were very nice and polite and even had samples of the aromatherapy lotions for me to pick which one Id like (tucson didn't have) they also immediately asked me if Id like a warm wrap for my neck which Tucson also didnt offer, and led me to the lounge. Massage: Stephanie then greeted me and led me to the room and talked to me about the paperwork I had filled out (standard) which was nice. I told her I had sprained my big toe on my left foot and even though it was the very last bit she massaged after 90 minutes, she managed to massage my foot without a bit of pain. I had put light to medium pressure on my paperwork because I wasnt sure what that would mean to Stephanie (meant deep tissue to tucson) but throughout my massage and simply telling her where she can apply more pressure worked out perfectly. One thing I would encourage anyone to consider before coming here, especially if its your first time, is to remember that there are lots of people that these therapists see and each and every one is different. I see a lot of negative reviews saying that people wont come back, but how will the therapist get to know you and your needs. And remember that when you try another place you will most likely run into the same problem. If you don't communicate to them to target certain areas or apply different pressures to meet what you like the first time expect a crappy massage. They are not mind readers, each therapist is different as well and has a different technique and idea of light-high pressure. I cant wait for my next massage from Stephanie, she was very friendly and personable. My massage was just right! And ps. The membership is SO worth it. I still need to get my first facial! read more

DO NOT GO HERE FOR A MASSAGE - they're overpriced for what they are, and then they push this membership like there's no tomorrow. The membership is a joke - minimum of 12 months for overpriced, underserviced crap and a bucketload of pain to try to get out of. Get behind on your sessions and inquire about working out a mutually workable agreement on suspending future payment, and be told they'll only talk about that after you pay up front. That was the straw that broke it for me. When I lived in California, the spa was run well, I didn't gripe too much about the membership song and dance - but this location takes it to the next level of morass. I moved out of the area, and it's the only reason that I'm not a member anymore. I went to this location for a little over a year. It's affordable: Membership costs $60 a month, and that gets you a 1hr facial or massage - and your minutes roll over if you don't use them! Plus you can get additional services or add-ons at the membership price! With other spas/massage therapist in the Burlington area charging well over $100 for a one hour session, you can't afford to miss out on this! (I never did facials here, so I can't comment on those.) My absolute favorite was Sarah Jo, and I saw her every other week until I left. She has a wonderful presence, her technique is fantastic and well practiced, and she listens to everything you say about pressure and areas to focus on. I nearly fell asleep a few times, and that is impossible for someone as high strung as I am! Before finding her, I saw someone different every time I went - and I loved everyone! You really can't go wrong. The front office staff is also out of this world! Polite, attentive, welcoming; some of the most pleasant people I speak to in a day! Plus, it's easy to schedule around your needs, and you usually don't have to wait to get an appointment for more than a day - sometimes same day! I'm just not getting the perks behind getting a membership to this place unless one were to use it more than once a week. I've been a member for a long time and that's because this is a great place to get regular massages! I've maybe had one or two mediocre massages out of 50+ massages here. Currently, I've been seeing Lauren and she is a master at destroying knots - seriously the best! My posture feels immediately better when I leave and the stress built in my back, neck and shoulders is gone! The covid protocols are great and I felt very safe and it's very clean (as usual). Some of the massage therapists are good and the front desk is always friendly and helpful. However, none of that matters if getting an appointment is difficult (no openings). I'm not sure what the problem is. They are either extremely busy or they do not have enough therapists to service their current membership. For the price of Massage Envy, I could find a great massage therapist somewhere closer to my office and not have to deal with the hassle. I now have an insane number of massage credits that I cannot use. It is easier to get an appointment for a facial, but that isn't the service I want. I see they now offer stretching as well. So, the only ways to use my credits and get out of my contract without losing a lot of money is to schedule services I don't want because the service I signed up for is not available. A most wonderful birthday!!! Three one-hour massages followed by a facial. Have never had a facial and decided, "What the hell? It's my birthday." If you ever decide to pull out the stops and do multiples, def start off with the deeper massage and work your way to lightest. John, as always, best deep tissue guy in the business. Massage Envy offers introductory prices for one massage or facial. Reasonable prices. The services were good. However, once you're done, you receive a full court press to join. The line is that you can join at that point, or it will cost more if you join later. Either way, you pay $59 per month, and that gets you one 50 minute massage; tip not included. After that, you pay a member price of $59 for any more massages in a month, or $69 for facials. They advertise a 3 month membership, but when you try to access that one, you're told 6 months is the shortest option. I fell for it. Thought I'd try it for 6 months and I could cancel after that. Bad decision. It was nearly impossible to get an appointment with the massage therapist I had become familiar with during their available hours. I work in the school system, and they don't stay open long enough to accommodate me other than on a weekend. I joined in December and couldn't get an appointment until the start of February. Additionally, if you miss an appointment, say for an emergency, they still charge you half the massage fee ($20). Understandable in some ways as you've tied up the therapist's time. I missed my February appointment due to surgery complications and was still charged AND couldn't get another appointment for two weeks. Then, they cancelled that one the night before and it would have been another two weeks before they could fit me in. Impossible to cancel the membership, no response from corporate office, and was not allowed to let anyone else use my "credits" in the meantime. Bottom line? Be careful of signing up. Lana is AMAZING, but Massage Envy is not. Their 60 minute massage is only 50 minutes, they have no amenities, no relaxation room, the massage lotion is way too oily, and the price ($95 for 50 minutes) is ridiculous. Plus the place feels more like an office than a spa. If it wasn't for Lana, the rating would be 2 stars. But she was so good that I actually want to go back. Go figure. read more

I was honestly scared to go to my massage because I didn't know whether my experience would be as disappointing as most people say or if I would get lucky and have a great massage with a great therapist(really hoped that would be the case!) Unfortunately, I didn't feel as good as I wanted to after my massage. I had the therapist focus mainly on my back with some areas that were more sensitive than others. I felt as though the therapist was simply pushing onto my knots and rolling them out. It didn't feel comfortable and I had to tell the therapist to be more gentle. I also think he should've used more oil because it felt like my skin was being torn at times. Probably the worst massage I've ever had. There was too much conversation between the therapist and I which is not what I wanted going in. Unfortunately disappointed with my experience. When I called to schedule my appointment, they booked me for a 60 minute massage, despite my request for 90 minutes, as i had a gift card. I rescheduled, and they got the time wrong. When I arrived on time, the front desk staff was very kind and welcoming. When I entered the massage room and met the therapist, she was very nice but did not spend much time personalizing my service. The massage itself was okay, but gentler than I requested. When she was done, the massage therapist told me to take my time getting dressed, and that she would meet me with a glass of water. I never saw her again. Then, I went to settle up at the front desk and realized that I was in and out in less than 60 minutes. When I complained to the receptionist that my appointment was for 90 minutes and I received less than 60, she responded by saying, "Yeah, I didn't realize that she had another appointment" and then, "Don't worry though, we'll only charge you for the 60 minutes." Now I have $25 left on a gift certificate that will unfortunately go to waste, because the price of the second massage jumps up quite a bit, and the service that I received is certainly not worth the price. My massage therapist had no idea how to interact with clients to start when I met her prior to my massage she was nervous and uncomfortable it made me skeptical about the service I was about to receive I should Of left right then! When she began to Massage with these tiny little hands it felt like I had asked my two year old niece to massage me she had no glide or cohesion to her method of massage she was pulling against the grain of muscles and tendons....she did not massage the front or back of my legs AT ALL I also payed 10 dollars extra to get the sugar foot scrub awesome essentially you pay extra to have sugar WIPED NOT MASSAGED onto the bottom of your feet then wrapped in hot towels....I left feeling worse than when I walked in when my mother whom had treated my boyfriend and I to the massage called they were not Willing to rectify the situation AT ALL!!!!! I would recommend Massage Envy in Williston! I have had several massages there by different massage therapists each of them have been very good. I tend to get a Swedish relaxation massage. I have also had several facials there. I have to say that Angie gives the best facials I have ever had and I have had many!! She is amazing and the products they use are amazing! They use Murad products for their facials. The front desk people have always been very helpful and extremely nice when scheduling and rescheduling me. I did sign up for the membership program and love it. It is $59 per month and I am worth it. It is so nice to know that once a month I get to do something for me! And I soooo look forward to it! My complaint is about the customer service rep who is only there 1 day a week (which doesn't make sense to begin with) on Fridays. I had moved out of VT and had tried to cancel my account several times. This was after my 6 month contract had already expired. So I was billed for a few more months. This woman was nasty and mean. If you fall for the six month contract, be very aware that they will continue to charge your account until you give 30 days' written notice. This franchise will refuse to refund your account after they charge you. The customer service is HORRIBLE! Not one of my massages went more than 50 minutes. I was lucky if they lasted more than 45 minutes. Three times they called me to cancel hours before my appointment. One day they rescheduled and canceled in the same day. The prices are high, and the special price is exactly what everyone else charges for a massage. Depending on who is available to give you message, depends on how good your massage is. Seriously, she found pockets I didn't know existed, plus she knew how to work hard on spots without the torture I've initially felt with other masseuses. She's an old soul in a young body. I wish i could give them negative review.....DO NOT GO HERE AND SHARE CREDIT CARD PAYMENT INFORMATION, DONT SIGN ANY CONTRACT This past Christmas, my husband gifted me a 3 months' subscription gift voucher for MassageEnvy. I ended up using my 3 months' subscription between 02/2017 to early 05/2017. Like usual, I went about my way once my 3 months' subscription ended. However, over this past weekend I noticed that I have been getting charged $65 Monthly subscription fees since May. I did not recall signing up for monthly subscription, nor anyone during my last appointment asked me if I had like to schedule a next appoint since I'll be a member. During this past 4 months, I have not received any proactive phone call to remind me to schedule an appointment, or received any flyer listing any member service promotions to hint me that I am somehow a member of MessageEnvy. In addition, I have not received any payment invoice from MassageEnvy for monthly subscription. I called Williston MessageEnvy branch yesterday and spoke with Nicole. Nicole was least helpful with my situation. I explained her my situation and asked her if I could get a refund as I didn't recall enrolling for such subscription. Nicole put me on hold to speak to her manager, she returned with the news that her manager said, I will not be refunded since I signed the contract. I asked her that I don't recall signing any such contract and she mentioned that their contract has a language that I will be auto enrolled in the monthly subscription at the end of my 3 months' gift service. I explained to her that although there is language in the contract about "Auto-enrollment for subscription" I didn't check off "Monthly subscription box", I only agreed to use my $195 worth 3 months' subscription. I explained that this must be some misunderstanding and I don't recall agreeing to such thing. Nicole said, customers are responsible to understand the terms of the contract before signing it and since I signed the contract, she can't do anything for me. I asked if I could speak with her manager over the phone, she said her manager is not available. I asked if I could get manager's name and contact information so I can reach out to her, she refused to give it to me and told me that her manager will call me back between 7-10 business days..... I mean... where is the principle of "CUSTOMER DUE CARE, QUALITY CUSTOMER SERVICE and CUSTOMER SATISFACTION" here?....extremely disappointing.... I asked her to email me the copy of my contract, she said she can only mail it to me and not e-mail. Nicole did not make any efforts to help me with my situation, if anything she made it worst for me. At this point, I didn't trust them and didn't want to wait for the contract to arrive in mail. I stopped by the branch to pick up my contract and Nicole kept showing me the language about auto-enrollment in the contract and completed ignored the fact that the initial contract term dates were listed between 12/26/2016 to 03/26/2017, the enrollment fee is listed $0, I checked off a box to pay in full for my 3 months' subscription in the amount of $195(using my gift voucher) and left monthly subscription box blank. In addition, the payment method section had my credit card information as they had asked for a backup payment method but the section was not initialed ....as I had no intention to continue the service after my three months' subscription ends. I didn't authorize them to charge my card for any additional services. When I brought that to Nicole's attention that the payment section doesn't have my initial and that I didn't authorize them to charge my credit card, her response was "I don't know about this, you initialed everywhere else in the contract"...... if MassageEnvy employees can't explain their own contract to customer, how do they expect that their Customers should understand terms of it before signing it. I mean come on, is this for real?????...I did not select monthly subscription box, I didn't authorize to charge my credit card, ....I asked her what did I do wrong here? How otherwise would I have completed this form to not automatically subscribe to monthly service? She said, you should have used the gift voucher as a gift card and not a monthly subscription to get around the requirement of contract completion. I told her that no one form MessageEnvy explained me my options as a customer during my first appointment. How would a customer know their options if an entity employees don't explain that to the customers during their first visit. According to what I discovered, there is nothing a customer could do to not agree to the terms of the contract. The contract is poorly written and flawed. At the end, I asked Nicole to cancel the monthly subscription andShe said she is not authorized to do that. read more

I was given a massage as a present. Not something I would do on my own. the place was nice. Lots of privacy and they respected the boundaries I set. They have questions on their forms so this is common. I liked the heated mattress pad. The massage was nice. Not much fragrance, which is good. The therapist worked on specific muscle groups and I could tell she knew what she was doing. I do wish I could have relaxed for about 5 minutes after the massage before having to get ready to leave, but I guess they don't want you falling asleep. When I was checking out, there was a strong effort to get me to join the monthly club. At $60 per massage I knew that was out of the question. The masseuse was great, and I have no complaints about the massage, but the front desk service is absolutely terrible. All of the girls who work there are not on the same page and struggle with tasks. I have a membership and I wanted to use the massage I got as a future session; the girl working said that I could not do that, even though my friend has multiple times. She also asked me if I wanted to add a tip for my masseuse, and I said 20%. She charged me $20 dollars instead of 20%. I tried explaining that this was wrong, and she said that she was right- I didn't feel like arguing with her. I gave up in frustration and left to get into my car and decided to go back in and talk to the other receptionist. I explained the situation and she told me that she could not refund me once the transaction went through. What do you mean you can't refund me or give me some of my money back?? This was my first and last experience here. I went on recommendation of a neighbor as I am very new to the area and asked for a certain MT. When I got there I found out that my MT had been changed to someone else. They never called me to ask if it was ok, nothing, but being in pain I went with it. They told me he was always asked for and had 15 years experience. BIG MISTAKE. The MT I saw did little more than rub oil on me. Now mind you I've had well over 300 massages in my lifetime so I know a good massage. I'm also a former MT with many years under my belt but had a major injury so had to leave the profession. To be fair I never told the MT what I did for a living previously as I find it generally puts a MT on guard. I asked for a certain set of muscles to be worked on as I was in so much pain. The MT became all flustered because it was not going to be a full body massage. We were only going to be working the back muscles and the feet. Believe me when I say that that is not a big deal for most good massage therapists. There are enough muscles in the back to use up 50 minutes easily. Well he hit none of the ones that were hurting, overworked ones that were not hurting (and injured my neck in the process), and after 20 minutes he said there was nothing more he could do with my back! On top of that he kept hitting the bones on my spine and hurting them. I was constantly having to talk to him throughout the massage which made it less than relaxing. I ended up ending the massage early because by that point it was just a mess and wasting time. At the end of the massage he yelled at me saying I had to be open to new massage therapists who did things differently! Are you kidding me? I did tell the front desk about my experience and told them to get him some CEU's - another anatomy course would be helpful as well as a pathology course. As a private MT, I always said you get what you pay for. If you are paying McDonald's prices you are not going to get a Kobe burger. I should have listened to my own advice rather than my neighbor. Things to ask an MT - How much training? (A minimum of 750 hours is a decent school) Do you do Continuing Ed? You want someone who does at least 12 hours a year of keeping up on their education. Do you have your NCTMB Certification? This is the national certification exam. Most good MT's have it. Please remember that there is no licensing in Vermont of MT's.
