I love Massage Envy - long time member - and Kristopher is one of my favorite therapists. He is very experienced and goes right to the knots, going slow enough to make it relaxing at the same time. He listens to you if you have something specific you need and adjusts the massage accordingly. I always feel super comfortable because he is very respectful. He will chat with you if you want to talk or be quiet if you are quiet. I have a huge amount of tension in my shoulders from stress, being a side sleeper, and computer work, but I left feeling relief not only in my problem areas but in muscles I didn't even know were bothering me. I had such an amazing experience with Jamar on July 19th! I walked in feeling quite sore and holding a ton of tension. Before we even started, Jamar took the time to talk through my problem areas. It was incredibly eye-opening; we realized I had a massive amount of built-up, pent-up stress trapped in my body. He addressed this by connecting my upper and lower body work seamlessly, intuitively encompassing the entire area to completely release the specific type of stress I was carrying. Instead of feeling pounded on, I got off the table feeling deeply relieved, loose, and genuinely better. To top it off, his post-massage aftercare instructions were fantastic and added so much to my entire healing process. He gave me specific advice like drinking plenty of water and lymphatic drainage tips to harness the effects of the session. Applying his techniques at home has been so beneficial, and between the work on the table and the aftercare, I genuinely feel like a new person. I have been to this location twice and the second time I signed up for a membership because I was so impressed with the staff. Kaleigh at the front desk is a sweetheart and knows her stuff. She can recite the membership details by memory but never pressured me into a membership or any add-ons. My therapist, Joycie, is amazing. She is kind and very knowledgeable. She makes your comfort her first priority and checks in with you throughout the massage. She is a wealth of knowledge and does or suggests what she thinks is best for your situation without pushing anything on you. I chose her by chance the first time, but now she is my regular therapist because I was so impressed with her. I had been having chronic pain in my back and had been to multiple doctors/chiropractors, etc but the first time I actually felt any relief was after my first session with Joycie. If you are wanting to get a massage, you should definitely check out the Massage Envy location in front of Imperial Oaks. You won't be disappointed. read more

I have been coming to this location for at least five years now, maybe longer. They've never let me down! The staff is so friendly. They work with you and know you by name even your second time there (without looking at the computer!) I used to go here solely for massages. I have switched massage therapists a few times only when my therapist leaves to pursue other adventures. My latest massage therapist I have been with for about two years or so. His name is Trent and he is beyond what words can describe. He specializes in deep tissue massage. So, I wouldn't recommend him if you do not like hard massages. I'm always sore and like nothing but hard massages, so he is perfect for me. They are very respectful of what your limits are, what parts of your body you want worked on, touched as well as adding any enhancements. They regularly update your preferences yearly to make sure things haven't changed. And the massage therapist also asks you as soon as you enter the room what May be bothering you and where you want more focus. I recently- in the last year - have started going her for facials as well. Megan is awesome. They have numerous types of facials, from regular to microderm infusion and many others. Similar to when you're getting a massage, the facialist asks if there are any concerns you have about your skin and what you want the focus to be for the facial (whether that is a goal or just to relax or whatever). You get text messages and phone calls to remind you of your appt. They let you cancel your appt without any cost up to 10pm the night before your appt. If emergencies come up the day of that you have to cancel, they work with you to only charge half, but still have to charge part because they have to pay the therapist something. I definitely recommend this massage envy! read more

First time getting a massage at Massage Envy. First thing I would like to mention is the AMAZING customer service experience with Brittany. Start to finish (from booking to out the door after service) Brittany was EXCELLENT! Next up clealiness. The place was tidy, restroom was decent ,the massage room was ok I didn't get that super clean spa feel. My massage was mediocre. It was an uneven body massage each counterpart did not get the same treatment, My feet were totally left out and I checked the box that I needed feet due to plantar fascitis. Also a 60 min massage is booked but you only get 50 minutes. The reason for that is a 5min consultation with the therapist and 5 min to disrobe. My expierence 5 min was not taken out for consultation it was a quick ask what area I needed focused attention on took all of less than a minute. In my opinion the therapist should have reviewed what I listed on the computer questionnaire and that didn't happen. To the massage therapist credit he was professional. My visit was ok but I did feel it was very "McDonaldish" The pricing for the membership is not bad but it does require a one year membership. This place is good for an on the go massage but do not look for any bells and whistles. They also offer stretch and facials which I think is a great combination. Lastly I may visit for a stretch but not a massage again. I gave 4 stars because of the great customer service Brittany provided. Overall the place is a 3. I will be comparing with another Massage franchise just to see how the two differ in service quality. Stayed for that review. read more

My husband and I were unemployed due to COVID, and despite a layoff we were not allowed to cancel our membership and were expected to pay the outstanding balance for the months we not only didn't use their services, but given the pandemic, probably couldn't or wouldn't have used them anyway. We didn't even receive a bill until 3 months later, after I assume they were allowed to reopen. When we provided all the documentation they asked for to cancel, they still said we couldn't. UPDATE: This was originally a 1 Star but I upped it to 3 stars. While corporate has inflexible policies, the GM Shananda makes up for it. After going back and forth a couple times, she was able to cancel our contract and she was always professional over the phone and email. read more

After not having regular massages for a while, my back was beginning to really bother me since I spend most of my day sitting in my desk chair at my laptop. I really needed a massage, so I thought I'd take a look and see if I could find a Massage Envy nearby and check for any promotional deals. Lo and behold, there's a location about fifteen minutes from me and for first time visitors, you can get an hour massage for only $39. I called and booked an appointment right away and, since they're open until 10 pm, had no problem finding a time to fit my (at the time) weird work hours. The massage was fantastic. I like a deep tissue massage and was delighted to find out that this is one of their specialties. I was incredibly happy with the massage, so when leaving, I looked into their membership packages. Previously when I had gone, monthly memberships were around $90 a month or so (I believe), which isn't bad, but you can find other massage places that are close to that. Now, though, monthly memberships are only $49 and while you have to sign up for a year, if you don't use your massage in a given month, it rolls over to the next month, so you never lose any unused massages. After debating about it for a few days, I went ahead and signed up and I've been very happy with my choice. All of my massages have been good with some of them being downright spectacular. The close location, late appointments, and almost always available appointments (I've even made ones on the same day) makes this one of the best decisions I've ever had. When I went in for my massage tonight, it turns out that the location is a year old, so they're running a special for new members. You get a free 1/2 hour massage and 20% discount on all products. If you're not a member, you can get massages all week long for only $39 an hour (no limit on the massages). They also have drawings for free massages and other items like bath oils. This offer is good until October 24, 2009. Bottom line, everyone out there can probably do with a massage at least once a month. Massage Envy makes it easy and affordable to take care of yourself and give yourself a little pampering at the same time. Who doesn't love that? read more

This evening was my first massage with this location. I have used Massage Envy before and never been disappointed! The two ladies at the front were very friendly, professional, and attentive to my needs and ensuring I had everything completed before my session. I chose a deep tissue massage with the detox aromatherapy. My massage guy was Christopher. He was very nice and inquired about the specific areas I was looking to improve. Neck, shoulders, and feet. He did a fantastic job! Within a few minutes, I already felt relief in my neck which is what I was looking for! He gave me lots of insight on how to stretch and keep up with daily routines so my stress and tension doesn't get as bad as it did! I would recommend him to anyone as well as this establishment! Don't sign up !!! HORRIBLE!!! I tried to cancel several times and was told I had to sign a cancellation document . They said several times they would email me a cancellation form but never do. I finally cancelled the credit card that massage envy charged monthly . I explained to the massage envy employee that "I never get the promised" cancellation form. I had a 60 minute Facial which I get every month. However this was my first time at this location. My skin has a mind of it own and sometimes it's fine, but that usually only lasts about a week. It's difficult to find a esthetician who is willing to work with you and teach you more about your own skin to help it get better permanently. I had Shannon and I am in love with her and her work ethic. You automatically get that she is very passionate about her work. She is knowledgeable, caring, and goes out of her way to learn your skin and teach you new methods of care. If you are looking for a great esthetician SHANNON is the one! At 12:10pm I accidentally booked an appointment for same day at 12:30pm with a male massage therapist. When I got there I realized what had happened and and was told there was no female therapist openings and I would be charged for same day cancelation if I canceled even though I booked appt 20 minutes earlier. The therapist didn't lose out on any other booking within that 20 minutes. They charged my card on file immediately. Massage Envy Imperial Oaks will never get another dollar from me again. I had a membership with Massage Envy since March of 2012 paying $59/monthly which includes a one-hour massage. Toward the end of 2013 I realized I was stacking up credit massages that I did not have time to take (at least five). I attempted to cancel my membership and was told I must visit the franchise to do so. I went into the Rayford Road location on February 26th, 2014 to complete my cancellation. After completing paperwork and explaining to Kelly the reason why I was cancelling my membership she told me I could simply freeze my membership at no extra charge and could come back and redeem my already accumulated massages at a later date. I was told my membership would reactivate on August 25th, 2014. Today (8/16/2014) once again I went back into Massage Envy on Rayford Road to complete my cancellation since I know I will not have the time to redeem my massages and continue to get charged for them anyway. I filled out the cancellation form and realized that the fine print on the cancellation form stated I would be charged yet again for another month. I completed the form but instead of writing my name to authorize payment I wrote "NO FURTHER PAYMENTS AUTHORIZED." The manager signed the document approving my cancellation and asked me to wait a moment while she got the attention of the franchise owner. I then met Bob, the franchise owner, who insisted that I still owed him another payment. I told him I will not pay. He told me he would turn me over to collections. While I was leaving he then stated he would refuse to cancel my membership on the grounds that I refused to pay for another month. I have read the "MEMBERSHIP FREEZE REQUEST FORM" several times to be sure and there is no indication whatsoever that I would owe any additional fees until my membership reactivated which would not occur until August 25, 2014. My credit card was also charged on February 26th, 2014, ironically the same day I first appeared at Massage Envy to cancel my membership. That would clearly constitute a 30 day cancellation notification which I had originally provided in writing prior to offering me an alternative freeze option. read more

I write this as I should be getting a couples massage with my wife. She was supposed to have a prenatal massage. But obviously that didn't happen since I'm writing this. I cannot express how pissed I am. Not for me, but my wife, who is 39 weeks pregnant and has been looking for some relief. Time date etc was confirmed with credit card info. Looking forward to a relaxing time with each other before our little girl gets here. But nope. That didn't happen. Some brilliant person, I use brilliant very loosely, didn't put us in for said confirmed appointment. As were checking in for nonexistent appointment, brilliant person sees that shock and sadness on my wife and doesn't help any further. I have to ask her for the next available appointment or if there is something available elsewhere. She says next week. See above about 39 weeks. Next week aint happening. If you choose to go to this place, get the name of the scheduler so you can give them a piece of your mind when your appointment doesn't exist. I have been here before and I can assure I will never go here again, and I will tell everyone who listens to make the drive across the freeway and go somewhere else. Also, the owner sat in his office the entire time this went down. I'm sure they will say you must have made the appointment elsewhere but I know for a fact that didnt happen, if it did, someone would have been calling to ask where we were. I was were I was supposed to be. Update: Since I had written the review, the owner called me, left a voicemail asking if any other location called to see if we were on the way. He asked me to call him back. I did. Me being in sales I understand the value of customer service and how far it can go, Mr. H!@@#$s did not. He again asked if we booked somewhere else and had we gotten a call. I told him we didn't get a call from anyone looking for us. So I knew we were in the right place. We don't just randomly give credit card info out. He did not want to take any responsibility, or apologize for the inconvenience. But he did try to rebook us(lol). By then it was too late. Trying to get my wife taken care of, I got her an appointment elsewhere for the next day. It's not couples massage but it will take care of my girls. He was very mad that we were not going to our "home" massage envy since it's the closest to our house. I would NOT recommend Massage Envy - Imperial Oaks! I paid in full for 12 months and was explained to that the 12 one-hour long massages did not expire and I had access to all 12 immediately. However, today, AFTER my 90min massage, I was told that I lost 4hrs of massage because my membership expired in October and they didn't have a card on file to auto renew my membership. A call to let me know my membership was expiring and I would lose 4hrs would have been nice! Or maybe when I called to schedule my massage appt I could have been notified that my membership was expired and I would have to pay the full price of the 90min massage. Then I was told that they could "un-expire" my lost hours, but only if I signed up for a new membership today and paid a new membership fee of $55. The 90min massage I received was great. The customer service not so much. Way to nullify my 90min massage by adding all this extra stress. read more

This is one of the worst locations I have had to deal with. It had nothing to do with the massage I receive, but the people who work there in the front and the management. I signed up for a contract in August for both m husband and I then we decided that we were no longer interested. I cancelled the contract 3, mind you 3 times and am receiving letters from a collection agency on their behalf. I called them trying to find out why this happened and after speaking with Tammy, the General Manager at this location, she basically told me that there is nothing they can do about it and that after 6 months of no payment, because Ive cancelled 3 times, that they'll just have to wait for the company to drop the collection and that it's "out of their hands" and I just have to "wait it out." Are you kidding me?! Because of the incompetence of your staff, I have to "wait out" a collection against me?! She was NOT helpful and I will not be recommending this location or any other location of a Massage Envy to anyone! I will go and find another place to take my business. read more

I have been a member at Massage Envy since 2011. This was just one of those things that I let go on for much longer than I should have, since I have never really bein satisfied with their services. Throughout that time I could count on ine hand the number of good massages that I have had. Mostly the 'therapists' are mediocre or just plain bad at what they do. They just go through the motions without any understanding of how to individualize a massage and actually address your issues. ( I have a shoulder and upper back issue that can be quite painful). The contrast is stark when compared to some of the higher end spas where I have received massages while on vacation. It has always been such a disappoint after receiving one of those to come back to the mediocre 'hit or miss' massages at Massage Envy. On one occasion I encountered a decent masseuse there that really helped me. i felt he might be a reason to continue with my membership and try to use the many massages that I had built up, but he soon left. Which brings me to a discussion about their 'customer service' and shady business practices. They called to let me know that the card that they charge monthly for membership expired. I told them at that time to go ahead and cancel my membership as I no longer use the service ( I had something like 15 massages built up that I hadnt used) They informed me that they could not cancel my membership unless I allowed them to draft my card for the next month and come into the spa to fill out a cancellation form, which I did. I told them I had not been using their services because I was unhappy with the quality of the massages there, had several built up that I would never use and would they please waive the next months fee and just cancel. They not only refused to do this, but called a couple of days later to say that they would be charging my card AGAIN and I had until the end of the month to use all of the massages I had accumulated. Though I had long ago met the terms of my 12 month obligation, they referred to a 30 day cancellation policy. There was never an acknowledgement or apology during any of those conversations for the poor quality of service I feel I have received over these years . In long run it does not really make sense to become a member of Massage Envy....just a way for them to entrap you because they know the repeat business concept won't work for them since they obviously cannot produce consistency in their services.. You only save $20 per massage by joining and then potentially end up with wasted massages that you'll never use or can't give away either, as their gifting policy is as absurd and restrictive as their other policies! read more

I have been going to this location for 11 months and have used the same therapist the entire time. I was disappointed in my therapist's reaction when I confided in her about some medical issues I was going through at my last appointment. I was being tested for rheumatoid arthritis but my rheumatologist wanted to rule out some other things first and I was waiting for the test results concerning anti-bodies to a childhood virus that could have caused RA like symptoms. The therapist clearly misunderstood what I was telling her (despite me clarifying the situation at least twice) and did not want to give me a massage for fear that I was contagious even though I assured her that the doctor was only checking to see if this was something I could have had in the past. I left feeling upset and embarrassed. I called corporate the next day only to find out there is nothing they can do as each location is individually owned but they did submit a request for the owner to call me. I spoke with the owner the next day and was appalled by his brashness and lack of an apology. He completely sided with the therapist and was unwilling to meet my terms of cancellation (I had requested a refund for the current month's massage that I was refused and asked not to be charged for the final month of my membership.) because I did not meet the company's early cancellation requirements. At one point in the conversation when I pointed out that I clarified twice to the therapist that there was nothing contagious about the situation, he challenged me by stating that maybe that was said, maybe it wasn't. I am sorely disappointed in his lack of professionalism and unwillingness to make amends to the situation and would recommend someone look for a local massage therapist not affiliated with this chain. read more
