Available appointments are few and far between. It is impossible to stay with same masseur without having 6-8 weeks between appointments. Main reason I am giving this establishment a one star is their cancelation policy. The cancelation policy requires minimum 12 day delay after the customer has verbally requested termination of contract. This means that the business can charge your card for monthly membership 12 or more days after you requested the termination. You are required to agree to these terms in writing before they will permit you to terminate your contract. This is simply an unethical money grab. KEEP YOUR MONEY LOCAL! read more

I had a massage ere a few years ago and it was great but I didn't sign up for the membership. Life has been really stressful lately, so I figured I would treat myself and decided to go back here. The girl at the front desk was really helpful in explaining everything to me and signing up for a membership was fast and easy. I booked my first massage and enjoyed it today. Jessica was my massuse and she did an amazing job. My shoulders are always really tight because I am on the computer a lot for my work, and she made them feel the best they have in a long time. Everything was really clean and everyone was very friendly, and never once did I feel pressured into buying anything. If anything it was the opposite, I was shown a list of add ons but assured that I didn't have to buy one. (which I did and highly recommend the hydrating boost for winter!) read more

Highly disappointed!!! After being a loyal member for 10 years and always paying on time I missed a massage this weekend. Never have missed before. Didn't receive a reminder call. Asked for the manager to call me to discuss the possible charge and he/she didn't have the professionalism to call and discuss. Poor reflection of customer loyalty. read more

Okay this is a really hard review to write. I went to Massage Envy today with my best friend on a gift card from my husband. I need to break this review down into two parts. 1. The Massage... 5 stars. from the moment we walked in, it was a pleasant and relaxing experience. Friendly staff, great pre-massage treatment. The massage itself (given by the amazing Jess) was wonderful. Truly, one of the best I've ever had. She was funny and nice and did WONDERS for my stress. AWESOME AWESOME AWESOME. 2. Post-Massage... 2 stars. So given the massage was amazing, imagine my surprise when we exited the spa area to run into what I can only describe as a timeshare scam. Apparently Massage Envy sells monthly memberships for $60/month for one hour long massage a month. Plus other random discounts. The girl was really nice but it was really uncomfortable, and such a downer after such an amazing birthday gift. My friend and I politely tried to delay answering, and then the sales pitch was on, "is it the cost?" "what's stopping you today?" "can you ask your husband?" Listen, if I'm sitting through a timeshare pitch, I better get free Disney tickets in the end. And I don't see any Disney tickets in my hand right now. read more

Can't go five stars just because it wasn't over the top good, but it was a pleasurable experience and it was my first massage, which I really enjoyed. The staff, including the people at the front desk, were all nice and my masseuse was fantastic, making the ninety minutes FLY BY! I had a different experience than reviewer Brittany G. Yes, I was asked about the membership and actually, I bought it. The experience was such a pleasure that the thought of going back was too appealing to pass up. However, later when I realized that I wasn't within 25 miles of a Massage Envy Spa, I called back to the Massage Envy in Maumee and talked to their manager who assisted me in canceling my membership. read more

I got a membership and several months into it my credit card expired. They called me several times, but I was so busy with school and work at the time that I could not call them back until a couple weeks later. When I listened to the voicemails they told me that my payment had not come through and that they had reported me to a debt collection agency. So of course that upset me, since it is a PRE-PAID service, and a service that is supposed to be a relaxing experience. So I got my card information updated and kept going. I then had a health problem and they would not give me a massage because they didn't want to risk causing me pain and getting sued. At this point I had already wanted to cancel my membership, but I had several pre-paids built up so I didn't want to waste all of them. But because they wouldn't give me a massage it caused me to have to go for several months longer than I wanted to. Then when I finally filled out the paper to cancel my membership the paper said that my membership wouldn't be canceled for another 30 days. So I expected to be charged one more time because it said that they wouldn't cancel it for 30 days, but they charged two more times! I called to see what was happening and the first time I called the lady at the desk said that she couldn't do anything and that the manager wasn't coming in until 3 pm. So I called at ten after three and the lady at the front desk told me that the manger was on the phone and that she would tell her to call me back. I was expecting a call within the next half an hour or so, but it never came so I went on with my day and was away from my phone. Two hours later she finally called, but I was busy doing something else and did not receive it. In the voicemail she told me that she would cancel my membership and that I had four weeks to use my pre-paids. I was really upset that they won't even abide by the amount of time that it says on the paperwork, but expect you to uphold everything on your end or else they will report you immediately to a debt collection agency. After this experience I will never go to massage envy ever again. Many of the massage therapists were good, but the manager and the people working at the desk are awful and don't know how to treat customers well. With their bad business practices I don't see how they can survive for long. They also push very hard to get a membership the first time you go, which is not relaxing whatsoever. read more
