I've been coming here for a few months, and joined as a member for the great discounts on additional visits each month. They recently remodeled and the place looks pretty upscale, so I think the remodel was a success. The remodel included a revamped lobby, showcasing their retail products for skin care and relaxation. There is a quiet room where you can wait for your massage therapist and it has a massage chair, so if you're lucky enough to get in there at the right time, so can have a "warm-up" massage. My muscles are always a mess, so I require deep tissue massage. I've been getting massages from Steven and Peter. Both do a great job, and I think there is a benefit from their different styles. I have not had any issues with staff, and I find the hours of business to be flexible enough for my needs. I think Massage Envy is worth checking out if you're looking for a massage therapist, and especially if you're looking for regular massage therapy. I've been a member for over a year and got good service. Sally is the best therapist there. When I couldn't get a massage from anyone, I decided to cancel my membership. I was told I have 2 credits left. I called to set an appointment and was told at Lahton Ave. I get there then told it's in Brookfield. No way am I am getting there in time. I set a 230pm later at Layton. Now they want a CC to hold the appointment. They had 1 on file. I argued that so I canceled that appointment. Then I get a call from my sister in law saying ME called her saying i wanted 2 of her credits to pay for a massage. Bottom line they are theives and cheaters there. Had the massage therapist Claudia. She was awesome. Made sure I was comfortable, and worked out my problem spots, finding ones I didn't know I had. She chatted enough to be friendly, but not overwhelmed. I left feeling refreshed and physically in better shape. I highly recommend booking with her. Location is right off of 894 making it easily accessible, facility was in great shape, there is a nice recovery room that you can relax in after your massage. I have been to many massage places and have not considered getting a membership. I am really debating with myself and feel convinced to give it a go. I had my very first appointment for a 60 minute stretch booked for 11:30 today. I showed up early to fill out forms, then from 11:25 to 11:43, I sat in the quiet room waiting for my therapist. I was about to go to the front desk to find out when my 11:30 appointment would actually START, but then a woman came in and took me back to a room. She asked what issues I'm having and I explained my history with massage but that it was my first stretching appointment. She looked puzzled and said she had me down for a 90 minute massage. We went back to the front desk where they determined the therapist I was supposed to work with had taken a different client her room for MY 60 minute stretch, and I was with her therapist for HER 90 minute massage. I got no apologies. I got nothing to indicate, "we're so sorry, so embarrassed" or whatever. They just wanted me to hang on while they notified my therapist that she had the wrong person and switch us out. I told them I was leaving, and again - nothing. No apology, no "can we work with you to schedule another appointment" or anything. I'm incredibly frustrated, incredibly disappointed, and honestly? I'm shocked at the experience. I get that mistakes happen. But the crew had no idea how to handle that kind of situation, and they didn't do anything to try and make it right with me. I have emailed this same information (with names) directly to the location, and recommended they offer training to their staff on how to 1) not take the wrong person back for an appointment, and 2) if that DOES happen, how to appropriately handle the situation. First I want to give the Massage Therapist Ruth 5 stars but the scheduling, availability, trying to transfer the massages you can't use and have already paid for, is everything but relaxing and therapeutic. Massage Envy is the perfect name. Unless you are retired and have ample availability good luck, using your credits. Then they charge you to transfer and my friend wasn't able to pay the $10.00 or $28.00 for 90 minutes, which again, has already been paid for, and Massage Envy actually has the opportunity to recruit more people for memberships they can't use, anyhow they called me to pay at the home location, mind you I'm on the freeway driving home. It has been nothing but a hassle and so not relaxing or a friendly service. Would not recommend. Go to a smaller local place where you are actually more than just a donor to their organization! read more

Had an awesome therapist but the company sucks. Had a standing massage and the new front desk person "accidentally " canceled the wrong appt for the 5th time! Instead of telling the person they scheduled second they told me to walk and too bad. Wrong cancellations happen all the time. Even got a phone call saying sorry . If they make the mistake they don't reschedule the person put in in error. Cancelled membership and waited to have manager call and Katie never did. When reached she Said she processed papers and it was time we parted ways if I didn't like the policy. Asked to speak with actual manager (was told she was but only assistant) and told since I cancelled they don't want to speak with me and hung up. Awful management. They only want new clients not someone who has been a member for awhile. They discuss your private issues at desk in front of everyone and now want your social security number (did not give). read more

Went to get a massage here and ended up signing up for the subscription. No pressure, I just really enjoyed my massage and wanted to keep coming back. Oh heck no I'm not going to let you buy me out. People have a right to know what kind of service they could get. That's what reviews are all about...they drive change. Bait and switch pricing..... You list a 90 minuted massage for $75 on your website, and then when I call to schedule the appointment, I'm told it will be $135, almost double the original price! A rather unscrupulous practice in my opinion. I luckily had the forethought to clarify the pricing when making the appointment, and decided that too much of an increase just because I'm not a member. I used to have the monthly subscription, but a $60 a month subscription for a non-necessity is a bit much, and now because I don't want to pay that monthly amount, you're going to double my cost. I enjoyed my first massage at ME Greenfield today. Having previously worked in the business office of a spa, I consider myself well acquainted with the industry. I like the concept of massage envy for wellness and healing.My therapist was experienced, very capable, and attentive. I did miss the aromatherapy, which costs $12 - I guess I did not miss it $12 worth though because I would most likely not pay that add-on in the future. The surroundings are clean, sedate and comfortable, including the waiting room. I was asked about joining their wellness plan as I left. (Prepared for that, as that is part of their business model.) I think that, as long as you understand the agreement, you would be getting a fair deal. The charge is $59 per month and you get one massage per month for that fee. Months roll over if you miss one. Additional massages are booked at a rate of $39. Memberships are usable at most national locations. There are other details, but that is the basic outline. I am seriously considering a membership. Hope my FSA approves the charges, but even if they don't I think it would be money well spent. I thought the staff as a whole were very professional and courteous. What you don't get here is luxury, new agey, 'ohm', or anything cute like a 'chocolate souffle massage'. I am very ok with that, as I view this as more of a health service than as escape. I can go other places for that if desired. IN addition, this is a massage only location. There are no other services offered. If you are looking for a 'spa day' this ain't the place to go. I also like the convenient location right next to Sendik's. Although, if you shop after your massage, remember to bring a hat cause your hair will get all shmushled from the massage :) read more

Hello all stay away it was one of the worst massage treatments I ever had I had Jake. He was on my C7 and he was on my spine constantly. I had to get an adjustment and the chiropractor told me he applied so much pressure on my cervical vertebrae as if I had whiplash! As a massage therapist myself we really have to keep in shape with our bodies. In this career all I got was a bruise on the back of my neck. It was not a slow flow good massage. It was suppose to be a 90 minute treatment also was cut short. Have been a member at this location for about 5 years now. Most of the time it's easy to get an appt as they have plenty of both male and female therapists. I pay $49.99 a month for my membership which includes one, one hour massage a month. If you add on more time or have an additional massage that month, they are discounted. If you don't use your massage that month, it simply carries over and you can use it at any time or split the hour to add extra time to another massage. The rooms are typically the perfect temp and I love the heated beds. Usually pretty quiet but if your therapist is on the South side of the building, you can sometimes hear the overhead pages from the Sendiks next door. The girls at the front desk can usually help you find a therapist by explaining the type of massage you'd like. I've become a regular of some the therapists mainly based on their recommendations. Love that during the Christmas holiday they give you a free 1/2 hour. Would love to see more bonuses like that! read more

Bought my wife a massage for 90 min and foot scrub , I do it from time to time and always a different place that has good reviews on yelp , worked great till now ... Main complaint is staff incompetence , I made sure it's 90 min , but they signed her up for 60 , and said there is no way she will get 90 min , until my wife called me , and I was about to call them to raise hell , they finally found 90 min appointment in system . All that figuring out did cut in her massage time , even thought it wasn't her fault since she was there 15 min before an appointment . I gave them my card do they can charge it once it's all done , so my wife can just go for massage without having to worry about anything , well ... They didn't have next day , and she had to break out her card . Overall my wife said staff wasn't very friendly . The office staff at this location is horrible. Literally every single time I book a massage there is something wrong. Once the therapist called in and they said they called me, but I never got a call, now I booked a 90 minute massage and the confirmation call was for 60 minutes. I talked to Megan regarding the mix up, she was flippant and rude. She told me that's all we have time for. I asked why is so hard to do this at this location? And I said I will have to find another location, she told me, "sounds good." This, right here, EXACTLY how you are treated there. IF you get an appointment, the massages are good. I bought a membership for my wife years ago and for a little over a year now its almost impossible to get an appointment and was even told at one point early last summer the staff reduced hours to enjoy summer. So, currently trying to figure out how to use the 11 credits on file, but can't get an appointment for a massage. Offered facial appointments, which is not a massage nor the reason that the subscription was purchased. If you can get a massage, you hope it doesn't get canceled, which has happened several times, and then have poor communication trying to get it rescheduled. On top of not being able to make an appointment they want $10 a month to freeze the account to be able to use the backlog of credits...but is that even worth it when you can't make an appointment????? Today I called all of the local ME locations, couldn't get anything setup, I guess everyone is taking time to enjoy summer this year as well.
