This was the WORST business experience I have ever had. If you value your home's safety, do not…read morecall Enchanted. The timeline of their negligence: Jan 15th Appointment: The technician replaced our thermostat and told us our 20-year-old stove likely had two more winters left. However, as soon as he lit the stove after the install, it began exhibiting smoke blowback. He told us it was "not a huge concern" and left. Current Issues: Since that "repair," the stove will not stay lit and requires constant resets. We are fully aware the unit is old, but we expected professional service to keep it running safely as promised. Dangerous Advice: When I called on Jan 30th to report the worsening smoke, "Tina" told me to wrap the piping in aluminum heat tape. My research confirmed this is unsafe and NOT a recommended fix for pellet stove piping. Zero Follow-Through: I was promised a callback on Feb 2nd. It never happened. I had to call repeatedly on Feb 6th and 10th to get any response. Hostility: During a 13-minute call on Feb 10th, Tina was aggressive and dismissive. When I told her the stove wasn't depositing ash and required constant resets, she literally asked, "Well, what do you want me to do?" The "Disappearing" Appointment: I paid a $100 deposit for a Feb 20th appointment (8 AM - 9 AM). When I called at 10:16 AM today to see where the tech was, Tina claimed there were "no notes" for our residence and blamed a "system update"--despite having already taken my money. This company is highly unprofessional and dismissive of fire hazards. I am currently waiting 3-5 days for my refund and will be filing a formal complaint with the BBB. Save yourself the headache and the risk--go elsewhere.

Last year (of the year before) my wife and I went into the store and a nice guy talked us through installing an igniter. We bought it in the store and installed it and it's worked for a little over a year. We had a guy come out to fix our stove. He replaced that new igniter and didn't repair the problem. We called into the store the day after. Woman in the store called us back with an attitude. Told me there was no record of us buying the igniter. Why would I lie about that? Then she told me the guy can't come back for three weeks. He cleaned the stove for a few hundred. Didn't notice the problem. Came back and didn't fix the problem. And now he sent come back for 3 weeks? Of course they did charge us for the new igniter! Very disappointing!

Two stars because at least the people I've worked with have been nice…read more This was the installer used by our builder, who admittedly is an unscrupulous scumbag who skirts code whenever possible. (We unfortunately did not find out that bit until too late.) We have a direct-vent gas fireplace. It is like having a damned hole in the wall, it lets in so much cold air. We had a pilot light installed to help warm the draft, but, truly, it doesn't work on the coldest days of winter. I guess maybe I can heat my house in a power outage with it, but while we have power it actually makes my house colder. I understand that this is just the design of the direct-vent fireplace, which makes no sense. If your business is based in New England, you shouldn't be selling fireplace-shaped holes to put in people's walls. I have my fireplace covered up in a desperate attempt to keep my heating bills down, and I plan to remove or replace it as soon as I can afford it. Heating is just too expensive to have a pretty fire a few times a winter. If you live in New England and you're thinking about getting a direct-vent gas fireplace...DON'T.

Wonder how a company stays in business when they cause their clients to have to call in to find out…read morewhen their appointment is so you know when to be there for the service. They have your email address, but they insist that your job is to call them. Worse yet, I was given a window from 2-8pm to be hanging around so I could be there for a cleaning service on contract. You pay for a contract with the expectations that the company will be more responsive because you have committed to them with a contract and pre-paid annual service plan. Nope. Not this one, you are no better off than just calling in and getting whatever service they will offer if you were unfortunate enough to have had your builder choose them for the original installation. It's a "locked in" system where the company won't service a fireplace they haven't installed.

Spoke with representative Steff and explained that I had a hard thick glaze of creosote that had ignited in the chimney the previous day. Steff, who was pleasant and professional during our conversation, said she would try to get a technician to my home today. I was quoted a price for the job which was fair and reasonable. Thirty minutes later, a Kiwi utility truck entered my driveway. Technicians Gabe and Regan introduced themselves and I gave them an overview of my woodstove and chimney. They wasted no time and immediately went to work. They thoroughly cleaned the chimney and removed all the glazed creosote; they went on to clean the stove, stove pipe, chimney cap and screen. A thorough inspection was performed, and I was happy to hear the clay flue was in good shape. Upon completion of the job, they vacuumed the area around my stove and cleaned up loose debris from outside. These two gentlemen did a great job and where very personable, knowledgeable. Gabe was at the ready with information on products currently on the market for upgrades and equipment that enhanced safety of wood burning stoves and chimney liners. This afternoon, I received an email from Gabe with my inspection report and before and after photos. What an absolute satisfying experience from start to finish with Kiwi. I highly recommend this company for your chimney service needs. OUTSTANDING WORK! Thanks Steff, Gabe and Regan.
