A rugged-looking area that features wire-fenced enclosures and an easy walking trail through the woods. During the summer, its one of the very few legal places that dogs and their friends can swim and play without disturbing two-legged beach-goers! There are no fees and trash-barrel service may not be available (pack it out). There is ample parking for 8-10 vehicles. No restrooms. The park is an effort of the Dennis Natural Resources Department, Animal Control, the Conservation Commission, and the Board of Selectmen. Additional site improvements were donated by Cape Cod Kennel Club, Derbyfield Kennel, Eagle Fence, the volunteers of Americorps, and the Dennis DPW. Cape Cod Kennel Club supplies most of this information. The paved walk was in and out leading to the marsh we could see the ocean in the distance and had hoped it would take us out to it, but it does not. We met two people walking their dogs who told us about the longer second trail in the woods. So we walked back to the windmill, took the side road back until we found the green trail markers. Well marked trail that made a loop connecting with the paved trail. Another nice little walk. There are several picnic tables scattered around, a restroom, playground area, gazebo and large open field that could be used for tossing a ball or frisbee.

It's a wonderful view to take in while on the Cape. Also, for the kids, there is a playground. Be careful of the bees on the grass, especially at the windmill. The parking lot is interesting, where instead you'll just pull over, with the expectation of hindicap. Great and peaceful spot.

Some people don't pick up after their dogs and I have picked up several including my own. The head guy in charge of the volunteers is very nice but he is quick with the air horn. My dog came down with some parasite and my vet asked if I frequented a dog park when I said yes they asked if it was clean I said some what. They advised to go on Fridays after the park is shut down for cleaning. I've been to the park like 10 times and had someone say something to me 8 of them. The park is easily a 4 star park if everyone would pick up after their dog and mind their own business. They have 2 parks one for small dogs no dogs over 30lbs and one for all dogs. There's a portable Jon on site for people, plenty of parking and the security is 5 star seeing it's right behind the police station. Because my 8 month old lab got a parasite from this park I probably won't be back.

It's different than what my dog is used to (gravel, concrete, & sand instead of grass/dirt) but she definitely didn't mind. It has two sides (small dogs under 25 lbs and all dogs). Unfortunately most of the dogs were on the small dog side, but my dog still enjoyed racing the small dogs from the other side of the fence. The only downside is that there is very little shade, but that's a common issue at dog parks. We plan on returning before our Cape vacation ends!
