Regrettably this place is super under expectations in term to everything in my opinion.. I'm from the middle east in origin and I do have a great knowledge in how the middle eastern food should be . I visited them yesterday for dinner, lord ! Terrible entrance that you don't know here to get in from .. no one to receive you at the entrance to seat you. After I went and found the waiter thankfully he seated me. I had to wait more than a 35 min and to speak to couple of waiters just to place an order ! While ordering the waiting - kinda old man- had a weird attitude! He was kinda mocking me ! I still took it lightly.. he tried to have over ordering and was asking why you don't want soup or or ? I'm by myself and I didn't wanted to over ordering ! Ordered Beef biryani, the plate came sad ( 0 sides ) , I'm still wondering why they named it (beef) biryani ! As you will need to dig deeply and make a good search to find a little small piece of beef ! It was just a yellow rice ! I ordered in addition a cucumber yogurt as the rice was so dried . The yogurt was like a paste ! Asking for the bill alone costed me to speak to a 3 diff waiters and took them about a 38 min to get me that damn bill ! I want to give this place 4.5/5 but don't have this option. I had a chance to come back and try the masgouf and mixed mezza plate. I must say, the mezza mixed plate with humous, babaghanouj, taboula and lebna were the best I've ever had. I usually leave it to the Lebanese to perfect them, but these Iraqi guys did an awesome job. A must try. I also had the masgouf fish. It was amazing. The quality of the fish, presentation, and taste were all very appetizing. I found the fish to be big for 1 person. If you get a chance to try it, share it along with dishes. This restaurant is a solid and genuine Iraqi restaurant. I am definitely coming back for more! read more

Hands down one of the best meals I've ever had. The location on Yelp is wrong. Go to Knightsbride and Williams street and head down Williams street and you will see it on the left. I almost gave up on it after the Yelp map showed it down a private alley. I'm glad I pushed on and found it though! I had the Makhoos with grilled chicken and lamb kebabs. Flatbread came out quickly and I enjoyed that while waiting for my food. After about 15 minutes the main course came out and was amazing. Both the chicken and the lamb were easily some of the best I've had. They were so juicy and flavorful! The meal was a little on the expensive side, but I will definitely come back here next time I'm in London. read more

Three of us had a fabulous meal at Masgouf last night. Everything was great. The food was unbelievably delicious, the service was utterly impeccable, and the ambiance was just right. Most of the other patrons looked like they were from the Mideast. We had a Mezze assortment, Mixed Grill, Gheimeh (it was Dish of the Day), a yogurt drink, and small portions of various wonderful desserts whose name I do not know. I'll be back. This place is definitely a keeper. read more

The best in the West. This continues to be an awesome spot in Belgravia. Service is good and food is awesome. Not unusual to see folks eating with their hands in a most classy way. I believe this is true respect for the chef. Ordered the mixed grill with rice. Next time I will go with the salad as this is the most fresh in London. Definitely coming back. read more

The Masgouf itself is awesome, yet I would recommend for them to abandon using sea bass. Iraqi Kabab is nice, but the portion is tight.

Picked up a meal for takeout when visiting the area. All the food was fantastic! One of our best meals during a five day visit to London. The restaurant was very nice looking with some outside tables, but take-out was best for tired kids that day. read more

Very unusual, we found Iraqi cuisine to be a blend of Lebanese, Persian and Indian flavours. The staff were very welcoming and nice to us. The food is of really high quality, and you feel transported in one of the Arabian nights. Quite healthy, too. I would definitely go back there as it's a very decent value for price. read more

This is a review of the lamb Kouzi. The lamb was delicious- and the side that they gave was also very tasty. However, the amount of nuts and raisins in the rice was not enough so i asked for more and they gave it without extra charge. The service was quick even though the restaurant was packed. The bread was fresh and is complimentary of course (this is an Iraqi restaurant) ;). Will come back for sure! read more

Maybe I smell, maybe it was because I was eating alone, maybe it was because I was the only one there not of middle-eastern descent, but I was not at all feeling treated like a guest at Masgouf. Arrived around 9pm and after giving my order (Labneh, Arab Salad, Tikka Chicken, Perrier) to a suited gentlemen, I sat at my table, and sat, and sat. A nice family was seated next to me a few minutes after I arrived, ordered, and had their starters out soon thereafter. Fifteen minutes later, still with not even my water, I flagged the server - he said it would be right out. 10 more minutes go by, nothing. Table next to me now has hot food being served. Again I flag a server (different one) he goes to check and a while later comes back and apologizes and brings pickles, dates, and vegetables (comp'd), my water, and says my food is coming. Seems like they entirely forgot to put my order in - OK, it happens, time to enjoy the dinner. 10 more minutes later my cold starters are arriving (yea! - 45 minutes after ordering I get my starters!). Chicken follows shortly thereafter. Food was ok, I'd give it 3 stars, not bad but nothing outstanding, good portions. Having been here for quite a while now, restaurant almost empty and it's cold, so I flag a server to get my check and walk back to my hotel, another 10 minutes go by, I flag another server, again waiting. You see where this is going? I had to ask for my check four (4) times before anyone would bring it to me. Even the family next to me (now on desserts and coffee and chasing their daughter around the restaurant) were commenting on my situation. OK, I can take a hint, nobody else in the restaurant getting poor service, you don't like me here. The person finally bringing my check (the final fourth person) was the same one who apologized earlier again apologizes and takes the service charge off my check (no kidding). Being fans of Middle Eastern food from out time in Michigan, we decided to try this Iraqi restaurant on our last night in London. We ran across it by accident as we made our way back to our hotel from the Westminster area. The flat bread brought as a starter was superb, especially when teamed with a dish of hummus. We all had a chicken kebab marinated in yogurt, and they served a very airy type of rice that I had never seen. It was very thin and looked much like shredded coconut. The restaurant was very nicely decorated, and we found the food to be excellent. Our friend who had never had Middle Eastern food raved about the meal. The check was not a bank breaker as one would expect from a London restaurant, especially one in pricey Knightsbridge. read more

Stumbled into this place on my way to Kensington park. The food and service were excellent. I had the mezza platter, which included hummus, baba ghanoush, tabbouleh, dolma, and tzaziki. That came with flatbread and in ordered a falafel appetizer. It was so much food and all of it was delicious. I particularly enjoyed the pickled vegetables. The food was alright. Nothing to write home about. The staff was extremely rude and slow, especially with my elderly parents. They seemed to be patronizing, and were nicer to the other Arab-speaking customers. One of the staff was a trainee and his trainer was scolding him in front of us. Very unprofessional. Didn't seem to have their act together although they seemed well staffed. Took forever to take our order. One of our plates had greasy fingerprints. Neither my family nor I will ever go here again. 0 stars for customer service. Food was okay, but I've had better. read more

Nice tabbouleh and excellent grilled fish. Do go for the fish of the day selection, it's market fresh and grilled to perfection. Yummy!
