Lately I've been eating at two restaurants and this is one of them. I just adore Indian food and I am always willing to try all the new spots. This restaurant had opened a bit ago, and well, not wanting to go to my usual spot as my friend hadn't had a good experience there, we chose to go somewhere new and Masala Majesty it was. The first time I went, my friend ordered a dal dish. I forget what it was exactly, but it was tasty. I ordered the chicken tikka masala, found it a bit chunky, but surprisingly good. We accompanied this with vegetable samosas and garlic naan, and the portions were just right. I had seen they had a sign outside for a Sunday buffet and we vowed to return. As it stands, another friend mentioned Indian food and we wound up there. We wanted to do Sunday originally to try their buffet, but it just wasn't possible, so we did a Saturday lunch instead. My friend ordered the butter chicken and I had the chicken tikka masala as I'm a creature of habit. We accompanied this with vegetable samosas, gobi Manchurian, and garlic naan. Again, this turned out to be a winner. Truly, every friend I've gone with and I have enjoyed this gem. We need to go back though, mainly to see what's the story with their Sunday buffet. Each time we visit, we think, "we need to add this to our weekly rotation!" The restaurant is clean, the customer service is off the charts, and the food makes you close your eyes and give thanks! If you are new to Indian food, the staff is happy to make suggestions and give explanations. My husband ordered their take on a whisky sour and it was the best we've ever had! I don't know what magic they put in there, but it retained the essence of a whiskey sour but melted the rich Indian flavors. SOOOO good! Clean, authentic, great service. Casual restaurant located in a strip mall with plenty of parking. Appreciated that they had Indian music playing. Rahul was our server and was awesome. He was friendly, knowledgeable, attentive. All of their entrees come with a soft, wonderful long-grain rice. If you finish the rice, they automatically bring another bowl so you're never left with a bowl of curry sauce. Ordered the mutton korma (lamb), butter chicken and chicken tikka masala with chicken that had been cooked in the tandoor. AHHHHmazing! When it was originally delivered (in really cute cook pots) I thought we might need to order more, but that bowl holds a lot more than you think and there was a lot of meat at the bottom. We are big eaters and all had leftovers. Each of these dishes was amazing. We could not decide who had the more delicious dish they were all that great. We'd try 1 and decide it was the best, but then try another and decide well maybe that one was the best. lol If you've been looking for a new Indian spot, head over to Masala Majesty and ask Rahul for some recommendations. You can smell the spices when you walk in, which is a plus. The food was delicious and came out promptly. The medium spicy was a bit stronger than expected, but manageable. Lots of flavor. The naan was a bit more burnt instead of browned than preferred. My only complaint was the soft drink charge is $3+ and they bring you a can with a glass of ice. I know they need to make money, but for a can that cost under $1 should not cost over $3 in a restaurant. read more

Discovered this place on the Tallahassee Foodies FB group. Walked in for lunch on a Thursday and was immediately greeted by the host. We were promptly seated with the table already set with a jug of water on the table. Waiter gave us some time as the menu is very large. My group settled on the butter chicken and lamb shank biryani with a side of garlic naan. This restaurant has the option for you to order your spicy level which is nice. The food came out shortly after and it was simply amazing. The butter chicken and naan was some of the best I've had. The lamb shank biryani was at a perfect spice level and the raita (yogurt) that came with it was a good compliment to the savory dish. I've already visited again within a week of my first visit. First time visiting Masala Majesty. It was like a barn find for Indian food here in Tallahassee. I ordered the chicken 65 appetizer and Onion Kulcha. The spices were very potent and delicious for each item by themselves. Even more Inticing when combining the naan and the chicken with the sauce marinating into the Kulcha. The service was accommodating as well. They made sure we had everything we needed for lunch. The ambience was very open and a little tight for the booths. Overall the experience was solid A1. We'd been here once before --about a year ago-- and absolutely loved the place. Second visit not; so much. We got a mixed bad of good and not-so-good. First off: It's still sparkling clean inside and nicely decorated. We stepped inside and it was a couple minutes before we were acknowledged and somebody finally just indicated to us to "sit where we liked." Staffing appeared to be an issue. There were perhaps 3-4 tables occupied... and service was so sporadic I'd hate to see them slammed. We had a new waiter and his English skills were not up to our previous waiter. We had difficulty with almost every single communication, water, beer, apps, bread, entrees. We would certainly expect and adjust to this difficulty in a foreign country; It's just not fun to have to grind through these culinary subtleties and uncertainties in your own. The communication was so bad I was wishing for a pictogram menu to make things easier. We could not remember the name of the appetizer we'd had a year prior; so we ended up with some "OK" Samosas. Not very exciting. Also due to comm issues, my wife's Goat entree arrived first and we lit into that ... and it bit back! We DID ask for hot; it was quite delicious and pretty dang HOT. I personally made an Indian-food faux-pas; I coughed and shot some of the very hottest bits up into my tender retro-nasal cavity. My bad. We laughed at each other's tears. The rice was extremely long grained, flavorful, and cooked and spiced to perfection. The garlic Naan was the finest I have ever put in my mouth. My entree arrived next, it was the Lamb Rogan Josh --it too was deliciously spiced and mercifully was not quite as hot-- allowing my tongue to cool enough to be functional. The lamb was noticeably less bone-y than the goat, but it was terribly dry and very tough. I should have sent it back! Another complaint; I sure wish they offered more (LOTS more) vegetables with their meat dishes. PS: WE do very much love the "Indian Cooking" TV shows they display on the TV monitors! read more

Recommended to try this place from a family friend and it def exceeded my expectations- I could not find these drums of heaven anywhere here, the way they make it in India and I finally did. This Indian Restaurant is fantastic. I am originally from Australia where we have great Indian Food and in the 30 years of living in the USA this is the first Indian restaurant that compares to what I remember. We were greeted by Raj who also helped us with our ordering and gave us some really good suggestions. We ordered Samosas, naan bread, chicken popsicles, Tandoori Chicken, Butter Chicken, Mixed Biryani and Papadums. All the food was delicious with the right amount of heat and flavor. I loved the mint sauce too. The restaurant is very clean and had nice quiet music playing. All the staff are friendly and always smiling.
