Beautiful little bakery with a huge parking lot! This place gets packed and for good reason!…read more Apple cider donuts are phenomenal, the almond cookies are delightful and soft, the fresh orange juice is well worth $5 a cup, and the muffins are huge. So many things to choose from, good luck!!

Today, was a cloudy and cold Wednesday mid morning. The place was busy, but no long wait times. The food is always good. Everything I've ever eaten on the menu is good... but I have a special affinity for pig 'n the blankets, banket, and any Mexican inspired breakfast item in the menu. Today I had the chorizo Benny. It was fabulous and worth the $15 imo. Our waiter, Pedro, was the best! He's worked there for over a decade and knows the family that runs this restaurant--- 3 Dutch brothers--- he gave me a run down on the lore and all the pictures are of their family photos hanging around the restaurant. I think that's pretty cool. They will be opening and expanding into a new restaurant location on the corner of River and Lakewood Blvd sometime in the near future. That location will have more of a "hipster" vibe with breakfast cocktails, etc. Check them out when you want... but if you don't want to wait come during off peak hours and off season times. Make sure to peruse their bakery for some goodies to take home. Salud.

Jho Mary's Paradise is a really fun place to get some Mexican style snacks and treats!…read more I first noticed this place after eating brunch at The Biscuit nearby and their storefront caught my attention with all the bright pictures of yummy looking food. I walked inside yesterday and was greeted with very friendly service. They have a menu on two TV displays that switch slowly back and forth from Spanish to English. Each item has decent pricing and ingredients listed. I also found that the pictures below were helpful on me deciding exactly what I wanted to try. I ordered strawberries & cream, Elote loco, and Mango en palo. After ordering, I looked around at all their fun snacks and I also noticed they have a fun area for pictures with some fancy chairs and a custom neon light of the name of the store. The food came out a decent time after ordering and I was very satisfied with everything. The strawberries & cream was super delicious: basically strawberries and cream in a cup served with a spoon. The Elote loco is corn on the cob with the option of getting either one or two of the following: takis, hot Cheetos, or Doritos. I chose hot Cheetos and Doritos. The corn was drizzled in sour cream and nacho cheese and some of the chip crumbles all over and then more of the chips surrounding it. This was my favorite item ordered by far! I can't wait to come back for more! The Mango en Palo was honestly the sweet and sour combination I needed after the spicy kick from the Elote. Mango en Palo is a fresh mango on a stick drizzled in some sour sauce and tajin! Sooooo good. I will definitely be coming back here because not only were these snacks and treats Instagram-worthy.. they were actually delicious too! Check them out if you're nearby! :)

Packed with nostalgia, this parlor never fails to bring their A-stuff day in and day out. You can't go wrong with anything on the menu, and you DEFINITELY can't beat the value. They have a lot of unique sundae options, which made it surprisingly difficult to choose. I ended up getting the Peanut Butter Shipwreck with vanilla ice cream, and it was delicious. The ice cream-to-topping ratio was perfect, and the combination of hot fudge and cold ice cream brought everything together really well. It was also very reasonably priced for the portion size. My only critique is that I expected it to be made with hard ice cream rather than soft serve. That said, the soft serve was still very good. It does melt pretty quickly, though, so don't wait too long before digging in. There's plenty of outdoor seating, and they even have a mini golf course in the back. The whole place has a fun, laid-back atmosphere and is a great spot to hang out with family and friends. Their soft serve cones also looked incredibly good and picture-worthy, so I'll definitely be trying one of those the next time I visit.

I was looking for places to check out on my recent Holland adventure and this place intrigued me…read more.. because it's a bakery/cafe that has chicken tenders....!! I LOVE chicken tenders. I drove up and loved the spacious parking lot. Walking in, the bakery was well lit and clean, and a bit overwhelming. They had so many kinds of baked goods, including some Dutch specialties like banket. (I honestly have no idea what that is but I know it's a Dutch pastry.) You can order 2, 3, 5, or 12 tenders at a time, and you can get them as a combo (with fries and a drink) or just by themselves. I opted for two tenders, one plain and one with original dry rub which is kind of like a ranch flavor. I also ordered a Diet Coke. The food didn't take too long to come out, and the tenders were hefty and super crispy. I liked the dry rub, but I think I'd just go with plain next time because they have the most delicious honey mustard. The Diet Coke was also super crispy and this was such a nice snack. They also have a menu of breakfast options like egg sandwiches, bagels, avocado toast, etc. The lunch menu is rounded out with salads, sandwiches, and mac and cheese. If I lived nearby I think I'd be a regular here!
