I understand they have a schedule to work around, but I wish there were 1 or 2 "freebies" for cancelling with less than 24 hours notice (or at least only charge half for 12 hours notice). We recently decided to try a pet sitting service for our cat when we went out of town. However, the second time it was a little less consistent with the caretaker - who was not either person scheduled the first two times we used the service. This most recent time, during a 9 day service, 5 different people were assigned to come into my home to care for my cat. When I asked about this, Marcy said they use a team approach and clients need to be aware that they can make changes at any time to the service provider. When I asked if I could receive communication ahead of time about these changes, she stated that I was not a good fit for their service and they would no longer accept service requests from me. Mainly because I asked for communication about who is going to be coming into my home. That is very unprofessional to not be willing to communicate with a client about the service provider who will be caring for your pet and coming into your home. This company assumes that every client would allow several different people whom they have never met into their home without clear communication about this plan or the providers. And if you ask for advance notice for communication, you are rejected from their service. USE THIS COMPANY WITH EXTREME CAUTION if you are concerned about the people who enter you home and if you like to have open communication with your provider. ADDENDUM: I am writing this after reading Marcy's response to my initial review- I was informed prior to our trip that there would be one individual providing service while we were out of town. While we were out of town, I began to receive feedback from several different service providers about the care they provided for my cat-- BUT- without any communication from Marcy or anyone at the company. Upon our return I asked about this because I was expecting one provider and she said that our provider had an emergency so that she found different people to cover. What I said-- and I do not believe there any attitude to this response- was that she or someone should have contacted me to inform me that there was an emergency/change of plans. I never met any of the individuals who came into my house - was not even told that this was an option prior to signing up with this service. My issue with this was the communication between Marcy and ourselves about the provider for our cat's care. And when I asked if communication would be able to occur in a situation like this if we use their service again, she said we were not a good fit and would not accept any service requests. I cannot imagine any person not wanting to know who was entering their home and to be informed when someone unexpected was going to be entering their home. Again- I urge EXTREME CAUTION in using this company if you would like to have good communication and if you would like to know who is entering your home when you are out of town.

The gentleman on the phone was so helpful and informative and made it easy. When it came time to drop my dog off the staff were so friendly and kind, and they were extremely attentive and took detailed notes of all the items I brought with my dog and any of her quirks (e.g., severe allergies, doesn't play well with others, etc.). The space was so clean and large. I felt very reassured dropping her off as I went on vacation. When I came back to get her, the staff was helpful and, again, extremely kind and talked about her time there with details that were definitely unique to my dog. She was happy, healthy, clean, and well groomed. All of her toys and leash items were accounted for and they even ran a toy out to my car that they had forgotten in her kennel. Two years after boarding my dog at Olde Towne Pet Resort, I am still dealing with health issues…read morecaused during her stay. I am not one to complain, especially in a public forum, but the lack of care my animal received was egregious. During her stay, my dog experienced an ear infection so severe that she developed acute dermatitis from scratching. The sore or 'hot spot' on her cheek was unmissable when we picked her up, but The staff tried to pass it off as if everything was normal. The groomer who prepared her for pickup had the gall to pretend he didn't notice a massive weeping sore on her face. For her condition to have reached this point, she would have needed to scratch constantly for days and not be noticed by the staff that were supposed to be spending 'cuddle time' with her daily. As anyone who has ever had a pet with an ear infection can attest, the behavior is far from subtle. Any remotely observant and competent person would catch it. Worse, I reviewed the update photos that were sent throughout her stay, and red spot on her cheek is visible in every shot and getting progressively worse. This means that the staff overseeing playtime let an animal run around with blood on her face for days without investigating. This is utterly unacceptable. My dog also came home with constant bouts of diarrhea that we assumed this might have been a bug she picked up in boarding, but it turned out to be colitis. Our veterinarian confirmed that this was most likely stress-induced. It has made me wonder what trauma my dog experienced while being boarded that would cause her to develop a permanent bowel condition. Her colitis has caused her enormous suffering and I am still trying to manage the condition years later. As others have reported here, the staff did not feed my animal the way they were directed, and returned what was supposed to be an empty bag of dog food to us half-full. So to recap, they underfed my dog in addition to neglecting an ear infection and resultant severe, pus-weeping skin infection, then tried to pass my pet off to me as if nothing happened. Whatever they did or neglected to do for her led to a chronic bowel condition that has rendered her partially incontinent. I was appalled by the dishonesty I experienced from the staff, but decided at the time to let it go, and simply swore never to give Olde Towne my business again. I figured my dog would bounce back, but she didn't. Reflecting that she has never been the same and that she experienced pain and neglect at the hands of the people I entrusted her with, I feel the need to let other pet owners know what they might be in for if they board their animals here.

After talking to a lot of walkers, I met Jennifer and the rest is history. Jennifer came over, met P, and talked to me generally about dog ownership & her services. Jennifer is super knowledgeable and a compassionate person for people and animals - this was so helpful because it put me at ease with giving someone access to my house & my new puppy!! Jennifer assigned us Jimmy as a walker - and that was P's BFF from that day forward. Jimmy is such a good human, would txt me updates, if needed, and treated Princess ...like a literal Princess! He was always on time, always communicative, and if the rate case he couldn't cover a walk, Jennifer took her out! They even convinced my little chi to potty in the rain & snow (something I struggle with to this day). Eventually some route changes kicked in and Isa was our walker. Isa was so sweet as well, and helped me fit P in a proper harness (which is tough for the little ones) in addition to being prompt & communicative! Additionally Jennifer sends consistent updates to clients through the portal, it's flexible with scheduling, and send a super cute newsletter with helpful information - esp for first time dog owners.
