Her vision was to help families who have families in the hospital or may be themselves an inpatient or outpatient and require medical assistance. At such a young age she had the wisdom and compassion to care about others, even while she was going through her own hardships. Her father, Kevin Sharkey, has made it his mission to continue to fulfill her dream. Molly's house has 14 rooms plus a library, an office area, 2 kitchens, 2 living room areas with games, a play area for children, and a chapel. Additionally, there is a garden in the backyard specifically meant to attract butterflies with one of the most beautiful fountains. If you are looking for a place of healing you have found it in Molly's House. We stayed for almost 2 weeks due to my son having surgery to correct his tibial dysplasia. I have never stayed at a place like this, but I know that I would love to stay here again if we ever needed to come back. The staff is incredibly loving and kind, the whole house is clean and tidy, you can cook your own meals to help save money rather than eating out constantly, and it is so close to the Saint Lucie River you can't help but go on walks down Stuart's Healthy Trail and let the breeze soothe your soul. Relax in the Serenity garden for some healing while taking in the colors of the butterflies and foliage. Maybe go to a nearby park to let the kids exhaust some of that excess energy. Whatever you need Molly's House is here to help. We were fortunate enough to meet some amazing people while staying here who made our stay even more healing with just their presence. I highly recommend Molly's House. When we move to Florida we are now considering Stuart as a top choice and I can't wait to volunteer at Molly's House. The organization is now world wide in 150 countries with 750,000 members. Every year across the country the St. Vincent De Paul Society provides 1.4 billion in aid to more than 4 million people every year. The store is staffed by volunteers and proceeds go to providing food and clothing, housing, rent and utility assistance, to the Port St. Lucie community. They sell donated furniture, household goods, lamps, small appliances, art collectibles, books, CD's, clothes, and accessories. They had a great selection and the prices were very reasonable in their clean and well organized store. They had a cute boutique section and you may even find vintage and antique pieces tucked into the shelves. Follow them on Facebook for notification of upcoming sales. If you are looking to donate, they accept household furniture, household goods, clothing, and toys in very good condition. Donations of food must be nonperishable and not expired. How they could get 12 toddler sleeping at the same time is hero status. The infant room has you put on booties when you walk in. We visited other daycares and that was not happening. I love how they organize family festivals and parades. I also love that they keep the kids engaged and on schedules. Multiple trips to play outside, afternoon strolls in a buggy . Lots of sensory activities. I wish I started my daughter there sooner. The only con is that the company in charge of the cameras has not fixed the installer so we can't download it, but I know the administrator is working on it. Best daycare in St Lucie County. Get on the waiting list ASAP. We waited close to 6 months.

Hospice liaison said "he is not ready for Hospice". Gave us brochures and went on her way. Husband was moved to Encompass, I did not feel he was ready for rehab, that night Encompass called me moving him back to Martin South hospital he was not doing well. Martin South called me that night and were sending him to Martin North for critical care. Next AM I went to hospital he was not doing well, was treated for several days they moved him out of critical care. My intuition thought they made a mistake; I was with him every day he was in the hospital watching his body slowly going into giving up. After couple days I said stop with the massive poking of needles, trying to draw blood and he is in pain. I left that evening he was going to sleep he said goodbye love you, he had always said goodnight. I prayed for him; I knew that would be the last of his pain. That morning he was in coma they moved him to a private room and then called hospice I said ok maybe they will learn something from this. We all said our goodbyes he passed away that evening. Now hospice wants to help us with our grieving, I went through the hardest time of my life. Don't believe the rosy picture they paint! Maybe a big $ donner helps with the fancy brochures but not hospice care. God took care of my husband and will take care of me.

Stop-human-trafficking-400x400 In the summer of 2015, Lynne…read moreBarletta was asked to participate in an art event in Singapore to help raise funds for a safe home for trafficked and abused girls called Dayspring. Lynne painted an 8-foot anamorphic wave that was used as a fundraiser. She worked with children from various nations to help create a block-long mural for the project. An 18-year old girl worked at Lynne's side on the art project. She had been trafficked by her parents since age 8. Lynne said, "she went to Singapore to change lives, but her life was changed forever, by this beautiful precious girl." Upon returning to the states, Lynne researched the epidemic of sex trafficking in Florida and the U.S. and found that over 300,000 children were estimated to be victimized by sex trafficking. Florida is #3 in the nation, and Palm Beach County is #3 in Florida. The need for child advocacy for trafficked victims and housing was desperate in Martin County, Palm Beach County, and St Lucie County. Widespread media about Lynne's trip and fundraising efforts using art stirred a tremendous response in the community. She was asked by the Martin County Department of Juvenile Justice to paint a 40-foot mural at the Martin Girls Academy in Stuart, Florida for girls that had been trafficked. Lynne was also contacted by the President of the Woman's Club of Stuart to help trafficked victims and consider doing a mural in Stuart Florida, early in 2016. She created and painted a mural on the ATT building in downtown Stuart. With the help of teachers, local artists, and students ages 5 to 17, the mural's creation was and continues to be a very successful fundraiser while beautifying the coastal community. The mural was covered nation-wide on television newscasts, which helped start the wave of awareness concerning sex trafficking. Catch the Wave of Hope (CWH) was born. Lynn pulled together community leaders who had a heart and background for stopping this atrocity. Initially operated under Visionary Centers International Church, CWH applied for their own 501c3 and received non-profit status in 2017. The mission: To eliminate human trafficking through education, prevention, restoration, and legislation. mural-picture-700x700 Lynne developed The Power of Art III © a 9-week art course that utilizes the right side of the brain with positive image replacement for youth and adults through simple drawing and focused attention. Lynne worked with a team of 8 therapists, including Clinical Directors Karissa Bolden and Brian Berger from Martin Girls Academy, a juvenile detention center in Stuart. The program was piloted with great success at MGA for over 2 years with girls ages 13 to 20 who had been trafficked. The Power of Art curriculum for abused and trafficked victims addresses PTSD, overcoming trauma, and inner healing. The program was showcased at the National Juvenile Justice Symposium in 2017 and presented at the Shared Hope International Annual JuST (Juvenile Sex Trafficking) Conference in 2018. In 2017, Janice Norman joined the Board of Directors for CWH as President. Under her leadership, a powerful awareness campaign took off. Presentations to organizations, businesses, churches, and synagogues in Martin, St Lucie, Palm Beach, and Broward counties were given by an all-volunteer board in 2017, 2018, and 2019. Media coverage included most of South Florida, with some newscasts syndicated nationally. Since 2017, the mission to educate people and organizations about human trafficking awareness has reached over 1 million people. Catch the Wave of Hope's legislative committee works to help change laws and educate representatives in the state of Florida. Most recently Janice Norman and her team educated local State Representative Toby Overdorf and his staff on human sex trafficking. CWH attended the presentation of Bill 219 in Tallahassee in March 2019 and addressed the Judicial Committee that passed the bill unanimously. This is a beautiful work of art a must-see.
