They got rid of the membership and went with the sale color of the week. However, there is a…read moreproblem with the sale color of the week because they pull all of that sale color tag and put them in the back where they sit for a week (I have seen them do it). (Hence, NO Sale items as falsely advertised) why do they bother with a sale color when the employees now have to pull all the items they have previously processed and stocked weeks before. Also, Goodwill has five colors red, orange, yellow, blue and green which means that each color sits on the shelf or hangs on a rack for 5 weeks before that color comes back around. I am so disappointed that GREED has taken front seat with donated goods not only with the lack of sale items but, some of the prices for items makes no sense. I used to round my purchases each and every time and even though I am now picky on what I purchase, if the price is not plausible I put it back and I refuse to buy and to round my total. They make enough money that they don't need any extra. Which is another thing that bothers me is that if a customer doesn't round the purchase when asked I was told it goes on the employee's review. (that is out and out wrong and should not be held against the Employee, it is the consumer who decides to round or not. I decide NOT.

I NEVER shop at Goodwill because their prices are generally to high. However I stopped in to the…read moreone in Ft. Pierce, FL today because it was next to another store I was at. After finding (2) items priced at $1.99 each, I preceded to checkout. There I was asked if I had my phone number on file with them and said No. Then I was asked if I wanted to give my number and I again said NO thank you. Then I was told my total was over $19 for the (2) $2 items! The employee said that is the price unless I wanted to give them my phone number! She would NOT sell to me at the marked price otherwise. I don't see how this is a legal business practice we're it's customers are REQUIRED to give their phone number to get the marked price. I would give a ZERO star rating if I could.

Goodwill was found in 1902 by Boston Minister, Reverand Edgar J. Helms. He took donations from…read morewealthy Bostonians and hired people who were poor and who could fix the items. The items were then given to the people who worked on them or they were resold. Goodwill's philosophy is "a hand up, not a hand out". Today Goodwill has become a $5 billion nonprofit organization that provides job training, employment, and community programs for people who have disabilities that might prevent them from getting a job on their own. I like to check out the different Goodwill locations when I am traveling around and so I visited this store is located in Ft. Pierce. They had a ton of clothes and like the other Goodwill stores I have visited lately, they also had a large selection of Christmas items. I can barely think about Christmas in December never mind when it is 100 degrees out. There was a small selection of furniture as well as the the usual household items, dishes and glassware, and other assorted odds and ends. This store was extremely busy and seems well loved by the community. Nothing here for me today but I would be regular customer if I lived locally.
