It was fun to learn a little bit about her and a lot about just the nature preserve and all the little fun facts that we probably wouldn't have known otherwise. The property is lovely, and everyone at the barn is so welcoming and friendly. Everyone gets along well, and the environment feels peaceful, supportive, and drama-free. They also have roping every Friday, which creates such a fun atmosphere and is amazing to be around. There is also a wonderful trainer at the barn who is knowledgeable and caring. When I had to move my horse, Jen and everyone at the barn were still very kind, thoughtful, and helpful throughout the process. They made sure I had whatever I needed and treated me with so much respect. I still spend time around the barn because that is how welcoming they continue to be. I expected her to give us a little more instruction since the groupon did indicate "lessons." Some horses were more obedient than others, so choose wisely haha. The ride itself was pleasant. I would've wanted to go up a nice trail or hill but we just went around the neighborhood streets. I recommend this only if you have a Groupon and if you're going with a great group of friends. This is definitely for beginners. If you're an expert at horseback riding, you'll probably get bored.

Melissa did not take this into account when teaching my daughter. She would give her several verbal cues at one time which would overwhelm my daughter. She also seemed and get irritated and continued to focus on what my daughter was doing wrong and not praising or encouraging what she did correctly. I never received a response from Melissa which is extremely unprofessional. I've also seen her texting on her phone during a session which is very unsafe. I canceled my remaining sessions and will not be returning. I regret spending my funds on this experience since my daughter seems to have zero confidence now.
