I was referred to Dr. Alexis by our family doctor to discuss treatment for my skin cancer. I promptly received a confirmation in writing for an appointment on Sept 4th. I called to asked if there was an opportunity to come in sooner and I immediately received a call back informing me that Dr. Alexis would see my, on July 2nd. Arriving at Kingsway Dermatology and Cosmetic Centre offices the team greeted me professionally and made me feel very comfortable, assisting me in completing some forms and offering me refreshments. I was asked a few questions and invited to have a seat. Within a few minutes, I was escorted to an examination room to meet Dr. Alexis, in privacy to discuss my concerns and condition. Dr. Alexis was so very kind in her approach and made me feel very comfortable and assured that she could help me resolve this skin cancer problem. I immediately received an initial treatment and together we decided on an appropriated time to begin further treatments as soon as possible, considering the time of year and my work schedule. This whole experience was professional, comfortable, efficient, respectful and reassuring to me, that Dr. Alexis will assist me in getting through this as soon as possible. In my current role, one of my key responsibilities is delivering and ensuring my team provides outstanding customer experiences with every client every day. I would highly recommend Dr. Alexis and her associates who are supported by a wonderful and professional team at Kingsway Dermatology and Cosmetic Centre. They have exceeded my expeditions. Dr. Kozak is an amazing Doctor who saved my sisters life. The only reason why I'm rating his office…read moreso poorly is because the secretary refuses to book my sister another appointment. When we ask why, they say we need to find a doctor closer to the area we live in. Their tone & attitude is horrendous and we are schocked because the previous workers were always so kind. Because of my sister not being able to see Dr. Kozak for over 2 years, her mental health is declining & we cannot find another doctor good enough to help her. He was the best and was the only doctor that ever helped her with her mental health and medication. My family is struggling now. The office wouldn't let us talk to Dr. Kozak to ask him if he could even refer us to another doctor that he recommends. We are desperate & it's just so disappointing when you find a good doctor & then get shut out with no real reason and no guidance. His staff does not reflect who he is as a person or as a professional & we are heartbroken and disgusted from their behavior.

However when I got there the service was less than expected in such a professional setting. The receptionist was not warm and welcoming and my expression of thanks went unacknowledged. The specialist, though she appeared knowledgable, was not sufficiently explicit and did not provide precise answers to my questions. Generally I felt as if I was being rushed and my concerns were brushed aside & not given enough attention. Overall, I left the office feeling like it was somewhat a waste of my time and like all my concerns were not fully addressed.

I could even walk to his office (which, by the way, has moved since this listing). Warning bells should have gone off when I noticed how full his waiting room was. Every time I ever went there, I had to wait at least 45 minutes and rarely did I ever get more than 5 minutes with him. He was my family Dr. for my first pregnancy, and he told me women who had homebirths were crazy and of course I would want an epidural because I am an anxious person (I don't know what made him think that as I have never been clinically diagnosed with anxiety issues). I went on to have a home birth (which I never told him about, since he was very anti-home birth and anti-midwife). The last straw for me was when I booked a physical with him, but was really sick. I showed up in the hopes he could treat me instead of doing the physical. He said, "Oh, I guess you're too sick for the physical," and sent me home (after asking if I could get home on my own). I had to go to a walk-in clinic later on, where they diagnosed me with bronchitis and asthma (which I have had on and off since childhood). They were totally shocked this Dr. didn't check me out or prescribe medication for me when I was so sick.

I most recently have an ear infections and he said I should flush out the wax first. The flushing was so painful that I cried out in pain. I asked the technician for antibiotics but she said the doctor had left for a 2hr lunch. It was clear there's an infection. I had another sleepless night and went to another doctor today, who said you should NEVER flush an infected ear because it can pierce the ear drum and cause permanent damage. He immediately prescribed antibiotics and said we could flush in a few days once the pain is gone. Go anywhere but to their clinic for health and safety! Please!
