Me and my husband just got married, we wanted to do a dance for our first dance and found Mary Louise and Jim. Luckily we lived in the same city as these amazing instructors. Our song choice paired with a rumba style dance. We just got married yesterday 11/2/24 and started lessons back in September. It was amazing learning from them, Kind, thoughtful, encouraging, and talented are some of the words I'd use to sum up our experience with Mary Louise and Jim. Everyone loved our dance they went absolutely wild for it. Such an amazing addition to our wedding it made it that much more memorable!! read more

I have some pretty severe health problems including an injured right knee and lower back pain. I also have breathing difficulties due to lung disease. A familymember and my physical therapist both recommended Mary Louise King, because she has a personal training and workout regimen designed for people 60+ who have health concerns, but still need to exercise. I can't say enough about how good she is. A lot of the exercises can be done while seated, and it's a pretty thorough and balanced workout. My heart and adrenaline really get going! It's safe and I really enjoy it! She's a very pleasent person, too! I highly recommend Mary Louise King! read more

I am 82, but Mary Louise King taught me how to shag dance, and she did so well that I could dance with the local dance club dancers!

I am a Latin & Ballroom dance instructor. We teach wedding dance lessons for bride & groom, mother/son and father/daughter. I also teach group fitness classes. The lovely light feeling of feeling poised and balanced is what I give my clients.

History

Established in 2016.

I was born with leg weakness. When I was 49 years old, I lost the use of my left leg due to a back injury. I used chair-based exercise and mat-based yoga and Pilates to strengthen my core and heal my nerves. After I was healed, I certified in these areas and started paying it forward by teaching group classes for other adults, trying to prevent them from having pain. In 2014, I started Latin and ballroom lessons. My legs were strong! I started teaching dance lessons with my dance partner, Jim Wallace, and opened my own studio so that my clients could learn in a private setting. I learned best with private lessons rather than group lessons in which people trade off and share partners. Private lessons cost more than group lessons, but they are safer and my clients learn much faster and have great fun with my concentrated attention on what their goals are.

I love to dance and am helping others find the joy of movement. My partner and I teach couples to dance at their weddings. I am a Baby Boomer who wants to be as healthy and fit as possible, and I have a great desire to help others do the same. I teach group classes using a chair for support as well as mat exercise, where students exercise on a floor mat.

this is more than just a dance studio . I personally don't dance here , but if it tells you…read moreanything I just signed up . I will admit the location is ghetto , but it's worth it ! when I first visited the studio with my girlfriend I felt good vibes . I walked in and there is a desk with a nice staff ready for your payment . to the left there is a waiting room for your parents . there is a table in the middle , and comfy chairs for parents to bond and wait for their child's dance lessons to finish up . Dance lessons are about two hours , and they are worth it ! The main teacher is Lee . He is funny and believes in every single one of his students . although , when you are in dance class and he sees you lacking he will say something . all the dancers have a click there and it's just like a family . They have competitions locally and some out of state . I went to a couple of local competitions and they are amazing . I totally suggest there ! can't wait to be a dancer next year !!
