It was our first time visiting Cafe Mary Grace for dinner last night and it happened to be at this location. There was a homey feel to it soon as we stepped in. Must be the way the entire restaurant was decorated... impressive. We tried Sans Rival, Cheese Rolls, Chocolate Truffle, Spanish Sardines & Olives Pasta, Mushroom Cream Pasta, & had a loaf of fruit cake to go. We liked all of it. It was almost perfect until the manager refused to give my aunt her senior citizen's discount just because she doesn't have a Philippine ID (she is now a US Citizen). How come all other restaurants we've been to gave her a Senior's discount like Cafe Mezzanine in Ongpin, Pino's in Maginhawa, Restaurants in Coron, Palawan, Jollibee, & Max's in E. Rodriguez. We even showed the manager a receipt from Max's where we had lunch that day showing the discount my aunt got for being a senior citizen. What makes Mary Grace Cafe different? Or was it just the manager? The corporate management should take a good look into this, as this is a clear case of discrimination against our Senior Citizens. As to our Senior Citizen Balikbayans, consider this as a warning. read more
