This was basically a third opinion. Our first podiatrist said their were bone spurs, and…read moreprescribed orthotics. Fairly conservative, but helpful. He indicated achilles surgery might be needed. Then he joined a medical group, and we sort of wandered away. The second podiatrist went straight to surgery, which we consented to. Basically, detach the achilles, file down the spur, and reattach. After all that, the problem isn't any better than it was. Enter Dr Rowe. He evaluated the foot, and then ordered a series of MRI images to be taken. In hindsight, I have to wonder why the previous guys didn't do that! His conclusion: of course the achilles surgery didn't work because the calf muscle is a bit too short. So the spur is growing again because the underlying problem wasn't fixed. The calf needs to be lengthened. He was very up-front, very friendly, and not rushed. He stayed until all our questions were answered. We've declined for now, but I was impressed that he wanted detailed pictures to see what was really going on, and then made a suggestion that made sense. I think we have a new podiatrist. I suspect that surgery will happen, but for now we're going to live with it.

I think it important to have the office since there are TWO doctors there, and Dr Discont is one of them. Anyway, my review of the office is repeated below: My wife has had foot problems for a few years now. Initially it was a neuroma which was diagnosed by Dr Discont. The orthotics he had made fixed her problem. However, recently, she began having severe pain. X-rays revealed she had bone spurs which led to plantar's fasciitis. For this she saw Dr Krahn. Initially I was concerned that Dr Discont was not available (he was booked out several weeks). But Dr Krahn has proven to be a knowledgeable, patient, and thorough physician. He methodically applies treatments, and if results are not satisfactory, he moves to an elevated treatment. Surgery is his last resort, and so far my wife has managed to avoid it. She is still battling her problem, but progress is being made. Dr Krahn is pleased with it, and thinks we will be able to avoid surgery. And now our daughter, the soccer player, is seeing Dr Krahn for foot pain and ankle spraining. It's too early to tell, but the x-rays showed her feet were fine. She is getting therapy to strengthen her ankles, and we are hopeful that the foot pain was just because her cleats were a bit too small (even though she thought they fit fine). I definitely can recommend this office. And while both doctors are good, I'm really liking Dr Krahn.

A medical assistant has repeatedly experienced inappropriate and sexually harassing behavior from patients and has brought these concerns directly to the physicians and leadership responsible for supporting her. Despite communicating the seriousness of the situation, there has been little to no meaningful action to protect her or address the broader issue. What is especially concerning is that the response has apparently included telling the employee that she should stop wearing makeup, rather than addressing the inappropriate behavior of the patients responsible for the harassment. An employee's appearance is not an invitation for sexual harassment, and the responsibility for inappropriate behavior should not be placed on the person experiencing it. Employees should not have to repeatedly advocate for basic safety and respect in their workplace. There should be a clear process for reporting patient harassment, appropriate intervention when incidents occur, and meaningful support from the physicians and leadership overseeing these employees. I am intentionally not identifying the employee involved because this is not about putting her name on the internet. It is about bringing attention to a serious workplace issue that needs to be addressed IMMEDIATELY. Leadership needs to take reports of sexual harassment seriously, communicate clearly about how employees can report these incidents, and take appropriate steps to protect their staff.

My wife was in a boot and was in a wheelchair, at not time did they ever offer help in and out the front door, since it was an electric door. Dr. Asked questions, reviewed Xrays with me, asked my concerns and discussed further actions. We even had time for some laughs.
