I can't believe that FOUR years to the day, was my last visit to Ahwatukee Ankle and Foot Center. It has flown by. Visited again today for a new foot issue so wanted to share more. Filled out the customary paperwork and waited. As I returned the paperwork, a familiar face down the hallway said, "hello." It was Dr. Beecroft. Hmmm, I saw him four years ago...does he remember me? The staff at the counter and in the exam room were both excellent and friendly. New faces, though. They hire the best people! When he saw me in the exam room, Dr. Beecroft said he did indeed remember me, not my name or what he'd seen me for, but he remembered where I work and the goal of getting me on my feet (literally) for a busy fall semester. That's amazing! I've never had a doc with that kind of memory and I told him so. He skillfully conducted the exam using an ultrasound machine, showed me what was going on, and very gently gave an injection to reduce inflammation. We discussed the treatment plan moving forward and frankly, that's what I love. Sharing the plan with me is key to my recovery, right? So the GREAT news is, nothing has changed in this office, save for a few renovations. Same superior service, same excellent care, same amazing doc. Very bad experience here a couple of years ago. As I type this, my toe hurts worse than it ever did before Crezee "fixed" it. Had a bunion and a bone spur to correct, and occasional pain in my toe that basically went away when I changed my exercise routine. Crezee said he wouldn't know if he had to fuse my toe until he cut me open. I naively assumed he'd never have to fuse it because it didn't hurt anymore (which I repeatedly told him and he clearly ignored). I forgot to consider that he was financially incentivized to fuse it. I absolutely hate having a fused toe, and as mentioned above, it now bothers me FAR more than it did before he mutilated it. He clearly didn't listen when I said it didn't hurt. He was extremely dishonest about the fusing. He never mentioned the true recovery time, and he flat out lied and told me it wouldn't affect my athletic ability. If he were honest and cared about his patients, he would have told me I might want to hold off on fusing it until/unless the pain is unbearable as I now know that many patients must really regret getting joints fused, like I do. They also don't respect your time. I had dozens of appointments there, and only one of them didn't start over 15 minutes past the scheduled time (often far later, 30-40 minutes). To add insult to injury, Crezee had the nerve to charge me $25 to fill out 1/3 of a piece of paper so I could attempt to get reimbursed for a knee-crutch purchase (very likely because ad revenge because I didn't buy it from them, more on that shortly) which could have easily been done during one of my many scheduled appointments. When I pointed out how unfair that was, I was told "it takes time to fill out" as a justification...so my time doesn't matter when my appointments start 30+ minutes late, and apparently I have to pay extra to have their greedy doctor fill out 1/3 of a page & sign it. Also, ALL the reviews about ridiculous charges are accurate in my experience. The final straw for me was when Crezee popped a blood blister without asking and billed me $91 for "draining an infected abscess". The "infected abscess" part was news to me, as he didn't even disinfect it OR put a bandage on it. Seems odd to allow a patient to stick an uncovered "infected" foot wound into a sweaty sock, but what to I know? That's the gist of it. I may revise this later if I remember more about my experience, but I just wanted to get this down since my fused toe is hurting again thanks to "fuse happy" Crezee. They'll view you as an ATM, not as a customer. STAY AWAY! read more

Today I went in to see the same Dr my husband did ( Dr. Richardson ) and had both of my big toes fixed! He was very considerate to my needs and comfort and took care of my issues right away! The pain was extremely minimal because of his skill. He also helped making it easier by getting me and my husband to laugh. The ladies helping were amazing and humorous as well. That really helped me because I was stressed! If I ever have feet problems this is where I'll go! They were the best for me! Thank you again!! read more

I'm disappointed in this place and honestly it's an EASY fix they can make to remedy it. I'm NOT lying when I say this, they're late EVERY appointment I've EVER had. Not 5-10 minutes either. We're talking 30 minutes before they even call your name, let alone when the Doctor actually gets into the room. I can't in good faith return to a business that does NOT respect their customer's time. We have careers, families, & other responsibilities to attend to where they need to stop being so profit hungry booking so many patients back-to-back. Unfortunately this company severely lacks in customer care- so much there was even a sign upon entering instructing patients to be nice and have kind interactions with personnel. Red flag, perhaps?Our experience has been less than stellar. From the check in process where the front desk staff asked my husband his name several times while speaking to other staff, not retaining anything and was seemingly bothered by his presence, to the rushed physician who said surgery was needed, the rude surgery follow up coordinator who was ill equipped to provide surgery details and refused to review financials claiming they don't give itemized statements before surgery and to just "expect at least paying the deductible first," to the dismissive office manager who doesn't know how to connect the patient portal, answer messages or follow up.....we have sent two messages since 2/17 that have STILL gone unread/unresponded to.....the sign now makes complete sense- explaining why patients may be frustrated with staff and their care... Needless to say, we abandoned ship, transferred care to OrthoArizona where staff and physician alike were excellent, professional, and attentive - and where ironically surgery was not recommended at all. Always get a second opinion, folks! Sometimes a bad experience paves the way for a good one. While this may be a suitable place for some, they really missed the mark with us. While I'm sure they don't care about losing a patient or two, at least they can read that their cumulative errors created an indelible negative experience, or the yelp review will also go unread. I had already gone to a podiatrist and he didn't know what is was so I was relieved to finally know what was wrong with my foot. Ahwatukee Foot & Ankle Center - Right before my foot surgery performed by Dr. Crezee of Ahwatukee Foot and Ankle. - Podiatrists Near Me - Phoenix, Arizona

There are several reasons Ahwatukee Foot & Ankle gets 1 star from me, but I'll start with the financial reasons, as that is the most upsetting. I got custom orthotics, and was told they verified my insurance and they were not covered, so I was asked to cash pay $480. I paid this as I wanted to proceed with the orthotics. A few months later, I was told I needed to cash pay for "strapping" (taping my foot) because my insurance only covered 3. I told them I knew that was incorrect and I was told I needed to cash pay and I need to understand my insurance better (which I found very rude with the way this conversation was going). I told them put it through my insurance, I'm not paying today. Sure enough, insurance covered it. This set off something in my mind to verify on the custom orthotics, as I realized they didn't know my insurance at all. And again, insurance covered it! So $450 refund came my way. Long story short with this, DO NOT trust their billing department. They will push you to cash pay and it is not always correct, which is more money out of your pocket then is right. Had I not checked, I would have been out nearly $500 between the two billing issues. 2nd, if you use their Physical Therapist, do not expect to have your appt completed on time. There is one PT specifically that shows up consistently 15 minutes AFTER the office opens (and after my appointment time). I respect people and their time, so to consistently feel like my time is not respected was frustrating. I understand doctor's offices can run late throughout the day, but to be the first appointment of the day and to watch the person you're appointment is with walking in 15 minutes after you were supposed to see them is just unacceptable. I escalated this to the front desk, but I'm not confident they hold their team accountable as it was a repeat issue and other staff members said that she is always late. Finally, the doctor is very nice - no complaints there. I do want to say almost every appointment I had to wait at LEAST 30 minutes to see him after my appointment time. But this is the doctor, I understand he is spread thin, so it was an annoyance, but not a make or break for me. So to sum it up, if you value your money and time, don't go to this practice. I've found a new podiatrist that treats me like a customer they want to retain, and it is very refreshing. read more

For the last 4 months or more I've been receiving health insurance claims from the wrong health insurance. After countless emails, letters and phone calls trying to resolve this problem the billing office of Ahwatukee continues with their incompetence unable or enable to resolve this matter. I'm appalled of their negligence on this matter. I don't know how they remain hired. If I would have known before hand of what they would put me through I would have avoided that office like the plague. Stupidity should have its limits but unfortunately that's not the case with this billing office. read more

If I could give no stars I would! This place is the MOST unprofessional establishments, I have ever visited. As I was checking out I was advised payment due day of service. I was under the impression my insurance would pay for it. As I'm checking out the female taking the payments requested for another female to come over due to myself not having the money to make the payment. The female comes over and says well we give you several warnings of payment due of service. No hi, no smile, no empathy. I told them I don't have a problem paying if I would've known my insurance wouldn't cover the visit I would have been more prepared. One of the females decided to ask the front desk person did she advise me of payment. The front desk female explained to her no she didn't nor gave me a call before my appointment. They allowed me to leave, told me to call on Wednesday to make my payment which I plan on doing. I called to speak with the office manager about the customer service I recieved the office manager Kathy left a voicemail with the following...."I just want to let you know I looked over everything it looks like you do have a fairly large deductible that has to be met and most people get a packet from their employer that they redone and so they usually know that they have a deductible at the beginning of the year. We do collect all copays coinsurances and deductibles on the date of service stated in our forms." I dont work for insurance company nor in the medical field. Majority of patients will no nothing about their insurance and anyone in the medical field knows that providing explanation of insurance and payment before a service is necessary. Patients are only worried about their pain. Setting expectations is "good" customer service. Again no apologies no empathy. I looked at the reviews which a lot of other people has had the same situation happen. I called today to speak with Kathy. Trying to explain to her it's not about the payment. It's the staff, including herself, on how they talk to their patients, and that this would have been all avoided by me having my appointment on my payday if they had simply done their job with follow up call prior to my appointment OR EVEN advising me about my insurance and payment BEFORE providing the service!! It's the customer service that's my concern, not at all the payment. I told her I would make the payment and I will not return back due to the horrific service I recieved. She said ok! Like it doesn't matter to lose patients that are paying for her livelihood!! There was no compassion on how to remedy the situation!! (( Just the fact the patient was wrong)) I feel horrible for the doctor because he was awesome! The staff, created a risk of not only losing business, but reputation. The doctors really need to reevaluate their staff and how having a good staff makes all the difference for their business. HORRIBLE. This was the most unprofessional medical practice i have ever been to. I have been here a couple times with my children but no more! Last time we were seen till 30 minutes past the appointment time. Doctor showed up LATE from lunch and didn't even hear an apology. Not to mention when i asked the "MA" where they went to school I am told they were taught in office?? It is ILLEGAL for them to be preforming X-Rays without proper training and certification. Criminals! Their eyes light up when they see what your insurance will cover. I went in for pain that was more than likely plantar fasciitis. I filled the forms out prior to going in. They ran my insurance and told me what was covered and how much the appointment will be. I was called to a room and asked what the problem was. I explained my symptoms. The medical technician commented on how small of a deductable I had and how amazing it was that x-rays and injections were covered. She left the room and came back to tell me the doctor wanted x-rays, before he even saw me. Took the x-rays and then the Dr saw me. Had he seen the x-rays yet? No. He used a sonogram to discover that I did indeed have plantar fasciitis and a severe case, in his opinion. He suggested a shot of cortisone and wearing an ankle brace for about 8 weeks. He then excused himself to look at the x-rays. He came back and gave me the shot. After he left, the technician came in with a box, opened it up, threw away any internal packaging. Put the brace on me. I didn't. She did. Then handed me a clip board to sign saying I received the brace. I walked to the front to pay and set a follow up appointment. Here is where I was first told the cost of the brace. Brace yourself: $133.00. I was in shock. That seemed like a lot of money. I even exclaimed that I feel like I'm being fleeced. I got out of there for $170+. I started talking about this appointment at dinner. The more I thought about it while speaking about it, got me thinking about how much the brace would cost on Amazon, they never fail. Get this, $59.95, free shipping! I was livid. I still am. What happened to me at that office? I called the next day to talk to the office manager about my experience. A brace was PUT ON me by a technician from their office, asked to sign that I received it AND then told how much it was, once I was at to the front of the office, where I had to walk to. I shared with her how the experience and the exorbitant amount I was charged is very disturbing. I got the usual "I'm sorry you feel that way". "I'm sorry YOU FEEL THAT WAY"! Hold on, let me call the bank and see how much that was worth. Surprise, nothing. I asked if they will take the brace back? Obviously, no. I asked if she thought perhaps I should have been told how much out of pocket this would be BEFORE putting it on me? She said "we told you what your insurance covers when you first came in". Really? That excuses being charged double the price of an ankle brace? Decent people of our community, I say to you, I got fleeced. And so did my insurance. Did I need the x-rays? Debatable. Did I need the shot? Probably. Do I need the ankle brace? Not at DOUBLE the cost! But I had no choice as I had already worn it and signed that I received it. Criminals! Despicable practices! Fraudsters! Money hungry office that could care less about you unless you can afford it. Heed my warning, do NOT go to this office. Let my example steer you away. read more

Dr. Beecroft assisted my son with his ingrown toenail issue a few weeks ago. The office was very accommodating with our busy schedule and able to get us in quickly. Minimal waiting time in the waiting room and we received both consultation and treatment at the initial appointment ( = just one co-pay!) The Dr. and his assistant both helped out and gave us great information regarding aftercare and what to expect. Thank you! You guys are great. read more

Dr. Beecroft is a great surgeon. He is one of the few doctors who actually spends enough time with his patients to explain everything and to answer every question. He will review information until you understand it. His assistants are friendly and professional, as well. I have has several office visits here and there was no problem scheduling them and I never waited more than 15 minutes in the office. read more

I want to give a heads up of a horrible experience I had today at Ahwatukee Foot and Ankle with Dr. Crezee. I was waiting to be seen in the exam room when Dr. Crezee comes in. He begins his exam and realizes he needs a magnifying glass to check if the wart on the bottom of my foot is gone. He leaves the room to go get one and does not return. Next thing I know he is in a room across the hall with another patient. I wait a few minutes to see if he will return and he does not. I climb off the chair and step into hall to find out what happened. I explained to a nurse who goes to talk to the doctor. Dr. Crezee tells her that he is not coming back, he decided to see the other patient since that patient he has known and been treating longer and I could see his partner instead if I want. ( I hear him say this to the nurse) The doctor never returns to my room nor apologizes for his rude behavior. The nurse gets the other Dr. - Dr. Stewart who is lovely btw. I have never been treated so unprofessionally in my life. I am a valuable patient as well and deserve to be treated as such. I just want to warn anyone who goes there to be aware of this disgusting behavior by Dr. Crezee. I would NEVER recommend him to any one! read more

The first time that I went in to see Dr. Beecroft for plantar fascitis was in 2009. He gave me a lot of education that I had not received from other doctors, plus he gave me information on how to manage it. I completed the physical therapy and received some orthotics that I still have to this day. I recently went back this fall to be treated for some foot pain. Dr. Beecroft is still kind, patient and a great listener as I remembered before. That is why I chose to return to this office. I highly recommend him to anyone having foot issues. Finding really good doctors is rare nowadays. For those of you that had a bad experience with insurance problems, don't blame the doctors for something that they cannot control. Just remember that health care is a business. Yes, podiatry is really expensive but if you walked out of there with new knowledge and less pain, there doing something right! read more

Two reasons, beyond simply Dr. Beecroft is an excellent Doctor. Dr. Beecroft has an outstanding bedside manner and wonderful attitude. My wife went in for bunion surgery and another issue. Dr. Beecroft has been extremely present beginning to end. My wife is about 2 months post-surgery. When you or a loved one has surgery, you don't just want anyone cutting into you. More importantly, you want someone who will empathize and be compassionate. How does a Doctor empathize and be compassionate regarding a surgery he/she performed over 200 times? Dr. Beecroft has mastered how. I recall waiting for my wife while in surgery. Afterwards, Dr. Beecroft came out to update me. What I liked best, he pulled up a chair alongside me and brought an x-ray. I felt like this was his first surgery and this was what he thought a great Doctor "should" do, which is to sit and stay awhile. Most assuredly, it wasn't his first surgery. Yet, hundreds of surgeries later, he still believes that what a great Doctor "should" do, spend time not just with patients, but time with patients family members. Again, it's his marvelous bedside manner and attitude towards his patients. He was prepared to spend however much time with me, if I required. I found this classy. His behavior is also reminiscent of the pre-surgery interview when I grilled him with 100 questions. He never hemmed and hawed as the questions were rapid fired at him. Ahwatukee Foot & Ankle Center (address 15810 S. 45th Street, Suite 190, Phoenix, AZ 85048) recommended sold us 2 ankle braces (BioSkin brand) in their office. Those ankle braces did not work for my daughter. When I tried to return the merchandise office and specifically Dr. Kelvin Crezee refused to refund my money. This office made evaluation for my daughter's ankle, recommended and sold us merchandise which has poor quality and did not work for my daughter. In addition they refuse to refund my money and demonstrated very poor customer service being rude and very unhelpful to us. This is unacceptable for medical office and supply provider. I would NOT recommend for anyone to use this office. It's bad. very bad!!! Poor medical service, poor quality, poor customer service. read more

As someone who moves relatively frequently, I always struggle with finding new places to go for care and would absolutely recommend this place if you are in need of some foot care! I recently injured my foot jumping into a shallow pool--yes, it was dumb, and yes, I knew better. When I hit the cement bottom I knew my foot was hurt. I finished my laps but when I tried to climb the steps out of the pool, the pain was really bad. Using leftover crutches from my kid, I went to urgent care, they X-rayed my foot saw a heel spur and claimed that was the source of the pain. I explained That I had no pain until I jumped. They were dismissive and just stuck with the position that the heel spur was the source of the pain. I went home, and not believing the diagnosis I called Ahwatukee Ankle and Foot. I was able to get an appointment the next day. The doctor was very nice, and when I explained what happened he said "that's not a heel spur". He was not dismissive at all. Within seconds he did an ultrasound of my foot and found that I had broken my heel. He showed me my broken heel and then the non-injured one. I'm no radiologist, but the two big breaks that I saw were pretty obvious to me.They got me a boot, explained no weight on my foot for 6 to 8 weeks, and had rental knee scooters available if you don't want to crutch everywhere. Everyone in the office was super nice and accommodating. I am not happy that I broke my heel, but finding this office made the experience a lot more bearable. I highly recommend them. read more

Dr. BeeCroft is great, but unfortunately you will never know what your charged until the bills start rolling in. Every time I go, I'm told what is and isn't covered and then get bills with mysterious charges that they can never explain. Oh, this was put in a wrong day, oh well I guess it wasn't covered like we thought. Serious!? As much as I like Dr B, I will be finding a dr with more competent staff. read more

I had an ingrown nail that was driving me crazy. I called mid-morning and was able to get a same day appointment in the afternoon. Met Dr. Stewart and he knew exactly what to do. Quick in-office procedure to partially remove my toenail. Overall good experience, friendly and helpful MA, good physician, and nice billing lady. Only reason, I am not giving a 5 star is because the front desk girl was not friendly and could use a smile every now and then. Besides that I don't have an ingrown toenail anymore :) read more

I have been dealing with Plantar Fasciitis for quite sometime. Having therapy with Dr. Crezee and staff. I have heard nothing but horror stories about cortisone injections of the feet. I had both feet injected today by Dr. Crezee. It was virtually painless. For those leary of the injections, please see Dr. Crezee and put those fears to bed. Love the staff, also. This place is incredible and very helpful staff. They are very nice and accommodating with figuring out finical break downs. Dr. Beecroft is an exceptional dr, superb surgeon as well. He listens, and first doctor to take the time to listen and find out what was wrong with me before just dismissing me. I lived with chronic foot pain all my life. It got worse when I had a dance injury I never let heal, working long hours at retail, walking my way to work and back for 5 years on it (About 5 miles back and forth) He actually cares and will do what is best interest for you to get better. He has worked on both my feet one surgery at a time, because it would be too miserable to do both at once. Both surgeries he stood behind until he knew I was okay and was awake. He is funny and most caring doctor I have ever met. I also had a mishap with attempting to carry a 130 pound self build desk that comes in a box to assemble.. I'm 5'0 110 pounds... I realized it was too heavy for me a moment too late and it landed smack on top of my foot. I felt my foot not right. I went to urgent care and they dismissed me. They did xrays and said I was fine. I wore a boot I had from previous surgery. the dr. there at urgent care said the boot I was wearing was over kill. I went to dr. beecroft the next day because the pain was too much. I gave him the xray file they gave me. He came back and let me know the boot was not over kill, they overlooked a crack I had. It was a hire line fracture that could be easily missed. He actually gets to know the patients to know their personality of what pain level they are in. I appreciate the care he gives and highly recommend him and this place. I can actually go to the stores without being in pain. He takes you very seriously and always finds what is the problem. read more

They are after money rather than providing the service you need. I told them I wasn't having pain in my feet, but they would sometimes ache and they tried to sign me up for surgery and put a deposit down that day for bunyan surgery before even discussing alternative options. Dr. Crezee told me Bunyan surgery would be "preventative surgery" that would become more complicated if I waited til the Bunyan's became severe. I went to a different doctor because they were clearly after my insurance money since I told them I got my max for the year. My other doctor said surgery should be LAST RESORT and made me custom orthotics that work great. He also said my reynauds would cause complications with surgery. The other office didn't bother to check anything before asking me to put a surgery deposit and schedule a surgery date. I honestly can't believe this office is still in business and trying to get people to sign up for surgery when they have almost no pain. Find a different office. read more

I saw Dr. Beecroft, a very nice man told me I had Hallux Rigidus, and I basically need a big toe joint replacement. No other options, just wait until I can't stand it anymore. the office staff is great and fast and very friendly. Went to another foot Dr. for a second option. He said he would never give me a big joint replacement in his finding they really do not work for active people, if it came to that he would fuse the toe as a last resort . He gave me other options, 1. cortisone shot& orthotics. Do that see how that works then we will go from there.. So I had a cortisone shot and what a big difference that made in just one day. I had horribly swollen ankles and feet that were extremely painful. Had to wear flip flops to my office. My family MDs said it was related to Type II diabetes and they had no cure. Said I should go to emergency room at Chandler Regional. After waiting 2 hours, 3 different specialists began to do various high tech deep tissue scans, cardiac and blood flow tests. No x-ray even though I told them it felt like I had fractured my calf. After five and a half hours they rudely told me to go home as they didn't know what was causing this malady. They gave me nothing for the pain. This cost my insurance carrier $4500. An assistant, who had been watching, mentioned that his mom had a similar problem and saw a foot and ankle specialist. Duh! That made a lot more sense to me than what these high priced yahoos were telling me so I made an appointment with Dr. Crezee as a new patient. Got me in the same day due to the pain I was experiencing. He took one look at my lower legs and said it was a bad case of cellulitis and a strong antibiotic would knock it right out. Gave me an x-ray just to make sure no fractures. Within 3 days the swelling had gone down and within a week I was as good as new. So, after I saw 5 other doctors, Dr. Crezee solved the problem in 5 minutes or less. Total cost to my insurance company was less than $150 (anyone else see a correlation between rising medical costs and incompetence?). Anyway Dr. Crezee was a miracle worker for me and I thank him whenever I get the chance. read more
