I've been to other chiropractic clinics but I haven't experienced any care comparable to the care I receive at Marty. The entire staff is friendly and knowledgable. I have seen Kari McDonald on and off for 9 years. She works magic. I'm an athlete and graduate student. Needless to say, I put my body through a considerable amount of stress. Kari has her patients best interest and health in mind. She has even provided me with supplemental stretches, tips, and tools I can utilize to help restore my body to its optimal functioning. About 5 months ago I started experiencing terrible pain in my shoulder. It would wake me up at night and keep me from sleeping. I could not find a comfortable position to sleep in and the pain was worse when I tried to move my arm in any way. This left me unable to do simple tasks around my house including vacuuming, mowing the lawn, sweeping and general house cleaning I was also dealing with arthritis pain in both my knees and my dr. also thought I had a meniscus tear in one of them. I could hardly walk and was in constant pain with inflammation. My leg muscles were so tight my knees were locking up. I was in constant agony. Tylenol did not help and I had been taking 600 mg of ibuprofen 3 times a day without much relief. My dr. put me on 750mg of Nabumentone twice a day however I still was unable to do anything or hardly walk. My Dr. Referred me to an orthopedic dr. for MRI and possible surgery and/or steroid shots for my arthritis. He put me on Nabumetone 750 mg twice a day and told me that I would have to continue on this med for long term and my liver levels would have to be monitored twice a year. After finding out that this was not covered by my insurance and my out of pocket deductible was $7,50000, I became desperate and I put something on my face book page asking for direction. Most of the response I had received from others that had experienced this same thing had had MRI's and eventually surgery. That is when Dr. Tom Anderson from Marty Chiropractic reached out to me on my FB page and offered me an assessment stating there were other options. After his assessment he suggested that I try Myofascial Release Therapy with Tony Zupke that worked in their clinic. He could also work on my knees and legs as well. Tony was very professional, respectful, caring and encouraging. I started to feel improvements within weeks. Tony also was an amazing teacher, he taught me how to use a foam roller at home and demonstrated what areas I should focus on weekly. My blood flow increased dramatically and my muscles and surrounding fascial tissues which were in a state of compression began to release which slowly released me from my pain. I didn't realize just how much I had learned to tolerate until I started feeling better. Tony continued to teach me not only how to continue making improvements at home with foam rolling but encouraged me how to change parts of my life that were contributing to this build up from years of over working, not resting, not finding my limitations and not taking time to rest and never stretching. After 3 months of therapy I began feeling better than I had felt in years. I realized how much I had improved when I was easily climbing the stairs and out of the corner of my eyes noticed my knees, at that moment I realized that my knees had been so compressed that I had not even been able to lift them high enough to even see them until then. This was a life changing moment for me. I finally felt like my old self that I had left behind years ago. Tony also helped me heal a 20 year old back injury that I had just learned to live with. I have been off all medications including ibuprofen for a good 2 months now and I am feeling better than I ever imagined possible. Because Tony dealt with the root of the problems with Myofascial Release Therapy not only have I experienced healing I have also learned how to work at home and keep myself from future problems. I have been seeing Dr. Kristiana Fruechtl for many, many years. In fact, my entire family sees her. I am impressed not only with her professional knowledge, excellence, and courtesy, but also with her genuine care for her patients. She is highly trained and always does whatever she can to ensure your pain is relieved; however, she never tries to see you more than you actually need to be seen. Dr. Fruechtl is also quite knowledgeable in the areas of nutrition, exercise, and general health. I always appreciate and trust her advice and counsel. My family and I have always been so pleased with the care we have received at Marty Chiropractic. The receptionists are warm, friendly, and helpful when scheduling an appointment. Marty Chiropractic also offers massage therapy, which we take advantage of quite often. I have been seeing a new massage therapist at Marty for the past couple of months and have been very much helped by him. He is professionally trained at Northwestern Health Science Services University, so he understands anatomy and how the body works. He has helped me a great deal. I also learn so much from him about the correct ways to do things with my body to prevent further injury. He is quite knowledgeable in so many areas as well.
