Left the yard a mess. Giant ruts in the lawn from the trucks and giant piles of dirt where they dug. Septic seems to be working though.

The sixth one said they'd call us back but after 48 hours had not. Today, 5/5/26, my dad was driving back to his home from running an errand and saw a Powell's Plumbing truck pumping a septic at a nearby house. He turned around and went back and asked them if they could come and do his while they were in the area. They made a call and said yes! They showed up shortly after the job they were doing was finished and took care of pumping dad's septic out. Amazing. Dad said the lead tech was training a new tech but that they both were super polite, very professional and took care so as not to damage any shrubbery around the house. (Dad's clean-out is only 5 ft off his house foundation) My dad was so impressed that he called me to ask me to leave this review for them as he doesn't "do" computers, lol. He highly recommends Powell's Plumbing and Air for pumping out septic tanks!! A+++

I called Great Falls and they were able to come out same day. The technician, Mauricio Apolinares immediately diagnosed the problem as a blockage between the tank and the house. While the tank was fairly full he doubted that was what was causing the back up. He dug out the inlet access port and sure enough, the baffle that empties into the tank was completely clogged. Within a couple of hours of arriving we were back in business. Very impressed with their service.

DO NOT USE - Negligent and Dangerous…read more We called Great Falls Septic (GFS) in May 2025 after our septic alarm went off. As first-time homeowners with a septic system, we relied on them for honest, professional help. Instead, we got deception, disrespect, and potential property damage. They came out, inspected the system, and said the pumps were fine but we needed the pit pumped and 3 float valves replaced. We were quoted $600 for the valves and $385 for the pump. We agreed and scheduled service for May 22. When the technician arrived, he unexpectedly demanded an extra $40 in cash for a hose that was supposedly needed to reach the bottom. He said the office gets angry if he doesn't collect money on every visit. We were confused and told him we already had a formal quote. He became rude and walked away mid-conversation. Without our knowledge or consent, the technician shut off both the septic pump and the alarm system--disabling the two systems that are meant to protect our home from sewage overflow. He then quietly left the property without saying a word. We only found out what had happened because the second company we hired confirmed it: * The pump was manually shut off. * The alarm was disabled. * Our system was left at risk of dangerous overflow. * No work had been done on the valves. When we called the office to report this, a woman named Debbie hung up on us. No explanation. No apology. Nothing. This wasn't a misunderstanding--it was willful negligence. GFS left our system compromised and our home at risk. We are filing a complaint with the Virginia Department of Health. If you value your home, your safety, and basic human decency, stay far away from GFS.

I showed him the area where we wanted the pad and told him the areas that I wanted him to scrape the hay off and the area where the pad was going to be located and where I didn't want him to do anything. There was a pallet made from pressure treated wood that I didn't want anything done with and a large pile of glass bottles that I didn't want anything done with by him. I instructed him to not go to that side of the field. He arrived on the scheduled day and we moved the animals that were in the field to an adjacent paddock. He began his work and cleared the area where the pad was going to be placed and then proceeded into the area that he had been instructed not to go and drove his equipment over the large pile of glass bottles shattering large numbers of them and depositing the rest of them in the dip in the field along with the pressure treated pallet and large amounts of dirt. I now have a field that is littered with broken glass that I will have to gather by hand and I will also need to dig out the pallet of wood and the unbroken bottles as they can't be left where they are for the animals to walk on. The pad that he put in is not square and is not suitable for the size building that we had planned to build. He left a large mound of shale in the driveway that I will need to pick up and move. He demonstrated poor judgement by driving over the bottles where he knew we keep animals. I would never hire him to do any work on my farm again. I feel that he is incapable of working without direct supervision and would not recommend his service to anyone who has animals or needs someone who can work without direct oversight.

What I received instead was poor workmanship, incorrect guidance, and extremely unprofessional behavior. Cubbage Solutions told me my pump needed immediate replacement and instructed me to have the tanks emptied afterward. I followed every step exactly as they recommended. During the installation, I questioned why the new pump was being placed directly on the ground when the previous pump had been elevated. I was told this was "to prevent movement," but I later learned pumps are typically installed about a foot off the bottom to avoid clogging. Because Cubbage Solutions installed the pump so low, it actually made the underlying issue worse by allowing sludge to clog the lines leading to the drain field. Three days later, a separate company emptied the tanks as instructed. Less than a month after the installation, the alarm light came back on. When I called, the owner immediately blamed me, claiming the tanks were full during installation and telling me to remove the pump myself to clean the screen. He also told me I "wouldn't like it" if he had to come out, then hung up on me. When I called back, he said he would not guarantee his work and hung up again. He also failed to complete my required annual AOSS inspection. I eventually hired Powell Plumbing for a second opinion. They confirmed the issue was not the pump at all--there was an underlying problem that Cubbage Solutions completely missed, and their improper installation only made things worse. Cubbage Solutions is unreliable, unprofessional, and does not stand behind its work. I strongly recommend choosing another company.
