6/24/18 So as far as the car goes ..its running good seemingly..rotars wasnt replaced but I'll take care of that . Had to edit my last posts as I had left out details that help understand my overall review...and that's all these are.. I received a letter from Maureen..herself.. the salesperson ..or owner..that's says they want me to stay away or rather "notice to not trespass".. my family member whom was with me also got one also..and that a copy of the incident was sent to police..i assume because of a post I made that never mentioned me..myself or anyone doing anything physically harming anyone employee at Martin's or any property.nor did I threaten her at her office..I may have swore once by saying f**ng bull***t..and I did slam my own cell phone in her little waiting area while turned away from ...but she told me I threatened her in a post.....I threatened to not stop in seeking retribution if I get shafted on the car..I threatened to hit news centers..review boards..ect...not her ..or anyone.. I simply exposed the bad business practices in a public post and referenced the worlds violence problems and why they happen as result of people scamming and taking advantage of others, possibly becasue im a afro- american she already had me stereotyped and figured id be easy to get over on..well to her dismay im no thug and i am not an uneducated black man as she seems to thinks, i however made the mistake to put a little trust in a woman that clearly has ego problems and in my opinion, practices bad business in order to scam customer out of their money.. As if I'd ever buy or visit there again ..I'd give car back if I can reverse deal and get money back even though I like it through all this.. Now Martin's has made repairs.after i had to open up complaints to get her to simply say , bring it back to me as she should have in the beginning...I ..myself a paying customer..whom maybe now just over a month ago purchased a suv from you after you preach your a certified lot and you point out the faults of other mechanics from other dealerships near you..See I was test driving a SUV when I saw Martin's and stopped to look and Maureen came out and pointed out some fault in the truck I was test driving..so I wound up trusting n buying from her..now I understand auto sales..the business..trust no one....but I...the consumer has rights regardless and shouldn't be subjected to dealership cutting corners to just sell car which I know alot do so it's no huge surprise but i will not let someone try to make me look bad or accuse me of making threats nor of doing anything i didn't do no matter how you yourself want to twistingly perceive it because your business practices were wrong from the beginning by trying to temporarily patch things in a car to sell...point being any pro mechanic that check the car which a dealer lot should do at inventory...should see obvious things..like leaks...busted radiator..tranny line...power steering hose leaks...ect.. not push off car .. try to make customer deal with it through warranty company within first 30 days of sales which is your responsibility..and you the very owner or salesperson is the one that says what to fix or not fix during inventory..machanics do as told..so for you say you didnt know is very questionable and reflects business practices. Now we finally agree you will fix suv..tell me come at 9am..a day I need to be work at 8am..you show up 945am ..I have family member with me because I had feeling I would be stuck out there and didnt want to be alone. You walk in and ask..is that your hitman? I dismiss your statement...long story short you seemingly didnt care about why I was uspset.. 1. You sold me car and you knew of repairs that needed to be done.multiple.. 2. Finally agree to bring yo u to fix..you come in late without care. 3. I just needed help with transportationfor one day....even tho u hit me with warranty company would pay back for rental.which they wouldn't have you know it they didnt authorize the tyranny line or power steering.. hose ...rental car company didnt have car available..anyhow...you couldnt help even though you should've fix car before selling..why was I mad? 31 4. Paperwork for repairs...bank stuff..bank email???? ..asked for it..and got nothing...wasnt in envelope...and i bet there is some shady dealing going on here too...i have asked for this information and should have been given it by right,....I Will sue this place if there is some shady things with the financial part of this..car was listed at 7k But I did get get certified letter..I will obey it.. that wont be hard to do at all..but will still post reviews, my right and i will let everyone know just how crooked this place is... Maureen isn't on the up and up..and will confront you like a man and try to egg you on so she can call police or something.. But maybe she should spend time certifying the vehicles instead of letters to customers, there be no problems..dont buy here..ever... read more

Martins Pre Owned Auto Center is great. I had the BEST experience in trading and buying my car. I traded in a Chevy Equinox and ended up purchasing a 2016 Jeep Grand Cherokee. What an AMAZING vehicle, and a great dealership to work with. This car looks brand new and runs like a charm. I worked directly with owner Maureen Foley (The Autoqueen); the professionalism is exactly what I was looking for. She moved things along efficiently, but was very attentive to answer all the questions I had. This dealership took great care of me, and I am happy to have found the car that I love. This is the first time, in a long time that I have bought a used vehicle; I typically buy new. I wouldn't recommend buying a car from anyone else. Thank you Martins Pre Owned Auto Center! Thank you Maureen! Now I know why they call you the Autoqueen... read more

The lies coming out of these people's mouths are ridiculous. "smartcars are the most stolen cars in america so you have to get the gap insurance." "we'll throw in the heated seats if you put a payment down today" "oh you're lucky, you're trade in isn't worth half what we offered you." "oh we can find out what kind of rates you can get with a cosigner without running a credit check on your cosigner" They make you write reviews before you leave, I'm currently trying to contact the Better Business Bureau about changing the review they wrote for me, and getting my heated seats. Stay as far away from this place as you can. Car wouldn't pass inspection after I bought it without getting work done on it, and when I went to get my first oil change my mechanic took me in the back to show me a shit ton of damage under the car I had no way of knowing about until it was on a lift. (smart cars are very low to the ground). The car was covered in touch up paint, and it seems as though more and more scratches appear every time it rains. It sucks because I actually like the car, but I could have gotten one with heated seats and a premium sound system for less, in the color I actually wanted, with only slightly higher mileage. I took Maureen for her word, and her word is about as good as dirt. Thankfully, though, I also put it in the paperwork. So fingers crossed I can force her to keep it. Found a new lie these assholes told me, yay! I was told multiple times any Mercedes dealer would be able to do work needed on my car. Nope. There are five Mercedes dealers within a 15 minute ride from my house and not one of them would do the scheduled maintenance I needed last month. Anything major happens and I'll have to drive over an hour to the smart dealer outside of Boston to get it repaired. read more

She has you fill out an application which is very invasive when I got through she wanted me to have my wife give her all her information as well.. She got pissed when I said no. There are no prices on any of the cars..and the prices on the windshield mean zero.Oh that's if you put 50 percent down or that's if you didn't have trouble with your credit she said. This woman maureen treated me like shit and I'm still not over it... I needed a car so I picked one out anyway and then she sold it out from underneath me and then didn't answer the phone.. I wasted three weeks have that time chasing this rude indifferent piece of shit.... I bought a car elsewhere...So Don't Do IT!!!! read more

Oh my goodness. Thank heavens for Yelp. I was right about to sign on the dotted line. What a close call. I fell in love with a VW Beetle and everything was grand until I saw the contact that was emailed to me when Maureen put the wrong price in it, and it wasn't in my favor. It was $1,000 MORE! Not the price in the ad. Unbelievable. Yes, run as fast as you can.I came directly to Yelp to see if other people had a similar experience - and no surprise. I thank everyone here for taking the time to share. Some of you care enough to write very long and detailed reviews. You all saved me sooooo much grief. Thank you! There are a number of photos here - hard to see 2 of them, but they are there - so look at the proof. The car had many photos provided and the only one that was blurry was the odometer - coincidence? I just don't know, but if it was, they definitely should have taken another one to be perfectly transparent about what they were trying so hard to sell on-line in the age of Covid19 when none of us can enter a show room. And Maureen conveniently "forgot" to mention I have a 30 day warranty on this vehicle - HOWEVER it has a $100 deducible! So she tried manipulate me into getting a 30 day warranty for what it would cost me to have the 60 warranty. Instead she sent a form along that highlighted the $100 charge for the 60 day warranty completely neglecting the third option (see attached photo.) And after looking at many, if not all, of the reviews, I'm particularly suspicious of the (3) 5 star reviews right in a row, all on the same date and then a fourth a just few days before. The author on all of these have the same personal profile "0 friends and 1 review, or "0 friends 2 review". I think I heard about this (on a radio program about Yelp Reviews)...as a way to manipulate your rating. read more

This company is a rip off. Wes the financial manager got me approved for a car load. The company that approved my loan took my money then this company sold the car out from under me. Maurine that owns the company gets you to sign a better business review before you even walk out the door. I had to retract it and put in a complaint. They are very sleazy company so don't waste your time. Stay far far far away.... read more

So far so good, I just signed on Saturday, pick up my car Monday and it was a great and easy and painless experience, I think the sales guys name was Joe L, he was great, Maureen the owner was great, both were fair and made a deal happen for me with really challenged credit, when other dealers didn't try, they called around and got it done, I pay a little more but that's my own fault for having bad credit, not theirs but it's a nice running clean car it seems so win win for everyone, thanks guys! I would say to anyone be your own judge and give this place a try if your ready to buy a nice used vehicle, especially if your local, support some good local people! Only reason not 5 stars is because I'm the type of person who always feels he could have done just slightly better, but that' s just me! read more

We bought our 2007 Chevrolet Silverado from Martins and we dealt with Maureen alias "AutoQueen" what a joke and Joe. I've purchased many trucks and purchased them from McGee but we saw this truck at Martins and we loved it so thought I would give Martins a try. Worst mistake I've ever made!! I have never had to write a bad review in my life but here goes. There were a few things wrong that they were supposed to fix one of them being a safety feature our Air Bags didn't work and they didn't fix anything and after only driving it for 2 months we had to have the brakes replaced all four!! This Maureen is an evil lowlife untrustworthy rude ugly you name it the worst salesperson I've ever dealt with in my life. Do yourself a huge favor and don't purchase anything from Martins Preowned in Whitman MA!!! read more

I will NEVER go back here for anything. Was sold a car with numerous safety violations but with a valid inspection sticker. After a real inspection on the car failed in five different areas for safety violations. The dealer was more than reluctant to fix the violations and has kept the car for more than 10 days, so far, with no repairs. Double check the fine prints since they try to pull something over you at every turn. They do not do what they say they will and will use fine print to cheat you every chance they get. It was terrible to deal with Maureen and awful to have to fight for everything that should be done legally. read more

Martins took great care of us and even went to RI to make sure we could get our car when we needed it! Great service.

This place is the worst place to go it is all a SCAM MAUREEN IS A CON ARTIST they try and sell you a overprice car with a overpriced warranty that isn't worth the paper it's written on Once you sign the contract there whole personality changes they aren't going to answer any questions you have and will laugh at you if the shit box they just sold you breaks down yes I said breaks down they fill the cars with garbage to make it run drive one you the car of the lot and that the last time they are nice if you vehicle has any trouble to bad Martin's will do nothing to fix it I REPORTED THEM TO BETTER BUSINESS BUREAU read more

This is a terrible dealership! They'll tell you anything to sell you a car but once you sign those papers you're completely on your own. They will not fix any problems once it is driven off the lot. I've spent over $500 on repairs on a vehicle that was technically still under warranty. Stay away from this dealer, they have ZERO integrity! read more

Maureen and Peter went above and beyond to help me out! She is extremely patient and understanding she spent hours trying to find a bank for me and even offered to make me lunch. I would recommend this dealership to friends and family any day! read more

I have been shopping used cars recently and saw one that was interesting to me when I was passing by Martin's. I stopped in the salesman was pleasant and helpful, showing us the car we were interested in. He sat down with us and went over the price of the car (about $13900) as well as a quote for the trade-in value of our current car ($500, although possibly more when they saw the car). He showed us the CarFax which said the car could be worth about $15000, so were getting a great deal. At this time, we told him what we could afford monthly and he felt that they could get the deal done for what we could afford. He wrote down in writing the prices to which we had both agreed (the salesperson and myself). We came back with the car to be traded-in and sit down and go through the purchase and sale agreement, car loan paperwork, etc. We get there and suddenly the finance manager tells us that the best they could do on the loan was the MA maximum interest rate (20.99% APR), had decreased the trade-in value of the car to $100 and increased the price of the "new" car by about $6000 (over $19,000)! I know what our credit scores are and know that just a month prior, had qualified for a car loan of about 6%, so it was outrageous to tell us that suddenly our credit isn't good enough to be lower than 20.99%! We were upset by the changes and the owner, Maureen, came in to talk with us. She started making all sorts of excuses for why the cost of the car was increased by $6000, why the value of our trade-in was magically $400 lower and the car loan rate was so much higher. When we got fed up and were walking out, she said, "Wait, I don't want you to leave with a bitter taste in your mouth" and She pulled out our original paperwork. She offered to give us the original figures we were quoted at that point. She also offered us a different vehicle with an interest rate of 8%, without even contacting a lender. How could she magically give us an 8% rate on this one, yet we couldn't qualify for anything less than 20.99% just moments earlier??? Needless to say, this place clearly is disreputable. They are trying to use the bait-and-switch on customers. It was only when she was called out on this deplorable tactic that suddenly she was willing to give us the original figures we were quoted. At this point, it was too late, as all trust had evaporated. If you try to swindle us with these details, how can I possibly trust that the information about the car itself is honest and accurate? I would never do business with his dealer again and strongly discourage anyone else from being duped by these people. read more

SHADY BUSINESS PRACTICES!! advertise one price but hide in the fine print that includes a guaranteed trade in of $1000 (but it was $1400 higher so go figure- not even consistent with their false advertising) so glad I found out before I drove two hours to get there! Also make it look like they are buy here pay here, which I need because of my poor credit, but upon second look it says buy here pay THERE. Deliberately misleading advertising makes you wonder what else they will do shady. The one star is for Chrissy who was kind and helpful, but her bosses business practices are shady. There is ALWAYS another car somewhere else to buy people, don't risk getting screwed or support businesses that do things knowing people will take the ad one way, and then hitting you with the bad news once you are hooked. SO NOT HAPPY! read more

Very pushy sales approach and deceptive pricing strategy. If your not careful Maureen will talk in circles to get you to sign papers before you know what's happening. She diverted every question by repeating her famous line about being certified dealer. Also avoided me taking the car to my own machanic before I purchase it by claiming I can take it after I purchase it.... That makes sense. read more

I had a wonderful experience at Martin's Pre Owned! Maureen went above and beyond to get me into the car I wanted for the price I needed! My poor Grandaughtet got beaten by this Maureen..you know, the"certified dealer". I told my Grandaughter to wait, yet she was given such a sales pitch from her, and was so excited to purchase her first car. Needless to say, she paid way too much money for the piece of crap! She was also talked into buying a very expensive warranty. She had to make use of it right away, and then told she had to pay $100. It has been one thing after another. They make her wait for days, and call numerous times each time work needs to be done. BUYER'S BEWARE! read more

Having no luck told the device is deactivated it won't shut car off here I am today fighting to get device out cause it is still active if it doesn't get fixed today I can't drive my car at all thanx maureen very good sales person also told me I have to pay to get device out. I don't even want to give this place any stars. Total waste of my time. Maureen who presented herself as the credit manager is actually the owner. She kept stringing me along with a deal that she couldn't answer some very basic questions about - overall term of the loan, actual purchase price of vehicle and amount given for my trade. She was looking for me to agree to a monthly payment amount without knowing my overall costs. I then get me deposit check back in the mail with a letter stating they were unable to provide funding based on my terms. DRIVE RIGHT PAST THIS PLACE AND DON'T STOP. read more
