I dropped my car off here to get work done and was told everything would be handled properly…read more Instead, it turned into a complete nightmare. My car sat on their lot for three days with no updates. When they finally called, I paid nearly $1,000 and went to pick it up--only to realize they had left my doors unlocked the entire time. Because of that negligence, someone went into my car and stole everything inside. To make matters worse, I was told that none of the cameras on their lot were working, which is unacceptable for a business that keeps customers' vehicles overnight. After everything that happened, they only reimbursed me $40, which doesn't even begin to cover what was taken or the stress caused. Since then, I've spoken with several people around town and learned that this isn't an isolated incident. Hearing that others have had similar issues with care and security only makes this situation more frustrating. To top it all off, my check engine light came back on just one week after the inspection, which seriously makes me question the quality and reliability of the work performed. I paid expecting professionalism, security, and accountability--and received the opposite. This business showed a complete lack of responsibility when it came to customer property. Save yourself the stress, time, and money, and take your car elsewhere

Unfortunately, I was hoping that since this place had historically been where my husband's family…read morewould go to have work done on their vehicles, that I would be treated fairly. In my experience, I was wrong. The first thing the woman said to me when I introduced myself and what I was there for was, "Do you have your registration... do you know what that looks like." My vehicle had fairly new breaks on but they told me it needed new breaks, calibers, rotors, and tires. The total (not including the inspection) was around $2000. Fortunately, I know enough about cars and knew that none of which they said I needed was actually needed because I keep good care of my vehicle. I have family friends that own garages back where I am from and had them look at at my car and they said that everything was in good condition and that D&L was over charging for all the parts and that they were definitely trying to pull one over on me and felt like it was because I was a woman (which is not uncommon, unfortunately). My car passed inspection at another garage where they told me that D&L put the lug nuts on too tight and that it stripped them, causing me to need new lug nuts. I went back to D&L because I wanted to address my concerns and hoped that we could have a conversation about the experience. I was mistaken. The woman at the front desk was rude when I asked if I could speak to the owner and when she finally "allowed" me to, the owner told me that based on the notes, the car should have passed inspection. He then went to talk to one of his mechanics and then came back and changed his story. He also went out and looked at my car without my permission and accused me of changing items on my vehicle. This place is a joke, manipulative, unprofessional, and I cannot warn everyone (especially women) enough to stay away. I will no longer be getting gas there and will most definitely not have inspections or work done on my car there going forward.

Crossing the country, my van started making a horrible noise along the highway that I knew was not…read moregood. I nursed to the nearest exit, and when I asked a guy who happened to be at the gas station what he thought, he and I agreed - best see a mechanic! He recommended BJ from Becker's, even though his specialty is transmissions, and this was clearly not a transmission issue. How lucky I was, to be referred to a shop owner and his assistant, Benny, who went so far above and beyond the call that they deserve not 5, not six, but TEN stars in the Yelp ratings scale. I was offered such hospitality as having one of their guys drive up to the local shops to get me a cup of coffee, a spot in their small office to set up my laptop and comfortably work online, allowance for my dog Teddy, and interesting conversation tidbits every so often as BJ would pop in to let me know the wait time before they would get to my van. He apologized for not being quicker! They quickly diagnosed the issue(alternator, bearings were brunt toast!) and explained everything to me - showing me the new alternator and the spot where I would see the wear on the old one, and then the old one once it was out. No down-talking to me as a woman who wouldn't care about or understand such things. Then, they took a real act of kindness and went over the van to make sure I was in the best condition possible for my journey. At no extra charge(and the alternator replacement was not an overcharge at all). They knew I was in poor financial shape, and not only did they not take advantage of me, they availed themselves beyond anything one would expect from a business. To top it off, BJ let me know that if I had any problems with the van and felt a mechanic might not be giving me straight information, to call him and explain what was going on; that he would be sure I understood the situation, and if need be, that the mechanic trying to put one over understood the situation - that no customer of his(Becker's) was going to be taken advantage of! This is just a small shop in a small town, and not all fancy-schmantzy like some people might want. But the guys at Beckers are honest, diligent and hard-working people who do top notch work!

Our truck would start and run, the warning came on, the truck didn't lose power but the pedal was not giving any power to the engine to make it go. I googled mobile repair and found Forthright. I called, left a message and Elijah called me back. He is one of the owners. Very nice guy. I told him the issue and I was concerned because they are located in Newburg and it's a 40 minute drive to Chambersburg, the time was 3:00 p.m. on a Saturday AND we are at a campground. Elijah assured me that he could do it that day. He told me their process, sent a very reasonable quote and said the quote is just what the total could be but it could be less depending on what actually gets done. I was good with it. Elijah made the drive and then it started raining. I thought that I was going to get a call saying that he would come when it's not raining...NOPE! He showed up and worked in the pouring down rain. He didn't have to replace all the sensors, only 1, and the total was less than $200. He said they are 24 hours, rain or shine. My family is grateful and thankful to Elijah that we were able to go home to Maryland on Sunday. I would absolutely recommend Forthright Mobile Repair.
