I believe him since a search for a clock repair shop comes up with very few listings. This is the second time I've brought my clock that I bought at a craft fair in Tucson to this shop. The first time was minor. Just stuck hands and there was no charge. This time I had them replace the movement altogether. They were able to salvage the original fancy hands so I am well pleased with their work. My sister, who lives in Mooresville, has a huge grandfather clock. Almost the entire cabinet is made out of glass along with the shelves. Moving it is cost prohibitive. House of Clocks will come out to service your grandfather clock if you have the need. They have been out to her house several times to service her clock and once were able to take a section of it back to their shop for repair. As you can see from my photos, they do have clocks for sale. Since I did not buy one this review addresses repair work only. Morgantown is only 15 minutes from the Martinsville Walmart via Hwy 252. There is plenty of free on-street angled parking available.

While the father helped our friends regarding how to identify the parts needed, my wife and I browsed the shop. It was filled with clocks large (grandfathers and cuckoos) and small (table and display case miniatures). In one case, there was a display of miniature clocks that had antique cars, kitchen products, an airplane, and an antique sewing machine. These clocks were just a few inches in size, but had a working clock strategically located to complement the design. My wife has become quite a wizard when it comes to sewing, so she was immediately drawn to the small sewing machine clock. Being a good husband who has learned to take a cue without too much prompting, I offered to buy the mini clock. The son who is a full partner in the business was very cordial and explained how to set the clock, how to change batteries, and made sure we knew they would be glad to change the battery for us if we were afraid of scratching the finish of the piece trying to get the back cover off. We've also had a few smaller moves where we've hired movers just to move the big items. The guys arrived on time. It was March (winter), so cold and wet in Bloomington. I was disappointed that the movers didn't put any runners down to protect the floors. Luckily, I had planned an extra day to get the house cleaned before closing. We had packers the first day, but they didn't finish everything. Finished packing on second day, with movers loading, but felt kinda rushed at the end of the day. Our stuff went into storage for a week or so until we got keys to the new house. They arrived on a Saturday to unload. This is what my husband wrote to them: Saturday's move in went well with one exception: The Indiana University football semi-trailer. As a Purdue graduate, I feel that all my worldly belongings have been contaminated by the residual odor of sweaty IU football players. The mere thought is making me queasy. I am now getting estimates for whole house tent fumigation. A Tippecanoe County company uses Boiler Gold Ale from People's Brewing Company to restore class and integrity to any soiled property. sigh Guys on the job were very polite and most helpful in putting things in the right rooms. We marveled at the hustle your crew showed throughout the day. It was exhausting just to watch. Thanks so much for making this all happen. During unpacking we discovered a glass shelf chipped and a nightstand missing. They promptly paid for those two items. Our belongings are a bit more bruised, but that could be from the wear and tear of moving 4 or more times.

Just before I was…read moreto start a basement waterproofing project with Company X, the Company X representative informed me that the vinyl tile and underlying mastic in an area of the basement of my house (built in 1945) likely contained asbestos, that the wood paneling in that area contained mold, that these would need to be remediated/removed before their waterproofing work could begin, and that I needed to hire another company to do the work. Thank goodness Company X recommended Bloom Environmental! Bloom Environmental Owner James Plessinger and Office Manager Allie were wonderful to work with. They returned my phone calls and emails quickly and efficiently, and explained in detail all the steps they would take, which greatly alleviated all my concerns. James collected and sent out tile and mastic samples for testing by an independent, accredited company (high marks for this!), which confirmed the asbestos problem. They scheduled the 5-day project as quickly as was possible with our schedules. I was amazed at how the actual remediation and removal project occurred. James paid very careful attention to the safety aspects, taking precautions by sectioning off that part of the basement, closing off HVAC ducts, and using blowers, HEPA filters, multiple plastic barriers and more, all of which enabled me to safely stay in the house during the work. The work itself was amazingly quiet! At the end of each day, James and his team hauled off lots of material for appropriate disposal and then James explained to me what they had accomplished during the day, any problems they encountered, and how the overall project was going. I really appreciated being informed about these aspects throughout the project. James and his team started at 9 am on a Monday, were on time every day, and finished at 3 pm on Friday, keeping to their original schedule and even finishing a little early. I am also amazed at the appearance of that area of the basement once the project was over. James and his workers did an outstanding job removing everything that needed to go, and making sure that the concrete floor and block walls were clean and dry. They did a terrific job of cleaning up after themselves, so there was no dust, no debris, etc. Outstanding! And the cost of the project was incredibly reasonable considering everything that had to be done. Bloom Environmental is outstanding! If I had another project requiring asbestos/mold removal, I would definitely hire them again. Bloom Environmental has my highest recommendation!
