I bought my wedding dress here. It was nothing fancy but I loved it. I had the lady hem it and she charge me a rush fee $110 plus tax. When I got home to try the dress the whole bottom is flared out and didn't sit like it did before the hem. Its no longer straight and it looks ridiculous. The current owner is nothing like his predecessors. He has ruined several of my couture garments. He has lost several items as well, he has given me items that do not belong to me. Literally my dream dry cleaners!!! You parallel park in designated spots right in front of the doors. Their doors are always open so it's nice to not have to balance holding your clothes and opening the door. I had a suit to be cleaned and dropped it off Thursday morning and it was ready to be pick up next day! They charged $19.99 for my wool suit and you pay when you pick it up. Super friendly workers. They were giggling and apologized for being on an ice cream high, best kind in my opinion! Super high quality job: my suit looks brand new and when I took it in it was covered in baby spit up! We are lucky to have Martini Cleaners here in Burien. I have been a customer at Martini's since my family moved down here in 2010. They are small town friendly and informative, but big city fast and efficient. I need suits back quickly so I can wear them again and I don't like having my things at the laundry all week. Martini's finishes my suits in one day. I dropped off a gray suit last night at closing and it was ready today at 4 pm. They even replaced a button I had forgot about which they never mentioned or charged me for. Their fast and friendly service will keep me coming back for a long time. i have been going to MC for 20 years I know they have changed hands, but when I took my drapes in for cleaning, I recognized the lady helping me as long time employee. She told me dry cleaning my drapes would result in destroying them because the were lined. She advised me to wash them in the bathtub. They came out perfect and she saved me 6000 dollars in drapery. This place is great. Went in for the first time earlier this week to get a couple suits pressed before an interview. When I dropped them off I was immediately greeted by a very friendly woman named Carmen. She gave me a 20% (without me asking lol) for being a first time customer, and informed me my suits would be ready by 4pm the next day. She also wished me good luck on my interview as I was leaving, which may not sound like much, but it's the little things like this that a lot of people lack these days. Went in the next day to pick my stuff up about 2 hours earlier than I was told, and they were ready. I happy to yet again be greeted by another very sweet, bubbly girl. How did my suits turn out you ask? Perfect! Price? About $35 to have 2 skirt suits (skirt and blazer) cleaned and pressed, after the 20%. I rarely need to get things dry cleaned, but it seemed like a pretty good deal. My one suggestion for improvement, which could be applied to a lot of small business owners is incorporating technology into their business more. As a former manager at a major wireless company I can tell you that it is very inexpensive to add a service that can for instance, automatically text customers when their clothes are ready for pick up, and what have you. Also the parking situation is kind of awkward. Small weird shaped lot..may be due to the construction next door? To sum it up: GO SEE THEM! People like this deserve the business. read more

Employee(s) employed singular experience and technique to address stains on two vintage embroidered pillow cases. Whilst such address might seem routine or common, the majority of the stains - apparently a byproduct of various material and fabric degeneration - were caused by the years of untouched storing. Several of the stains were present close to, or in contact with, coloured vintage stitchery on the pillow cases. Final results were splendid! I asked them to get a chocolate ice cream stain out of a light gray pea coat, and they warned me that it may not be possible, but they were able to do so without any sign of my clumsiness! I highly recommend! For my pea coat and a pair of dress pants, it was about $35, which was cheaper than they had originally priced for me when I dropped the items off. read more

It was very refreshing to find knowledgeable, proffessional counter persons. Upon entering the front door of the business one can immediately see that Martini Cleaners is clearly a firm dedicated to service and care of it's customers. The proof is in their consistant quality. Before taking a garment to Martini's, I asked around. Almost to a person I was told "You need to take your cleaning to Martini's. I have never had a problem there". My nephew LOVES dinosaurs, so for Halloween this year I decided that trick or treating with him as his favorite thing will shoot me to the top of the list of BESTEST MOST FAVORITEST AUNTIE (being the #1 auntie is very serious indeed). When my costume arrived in the mail, alas the headpiece strap was too short for my prodigious head and the costume legs were too long for my petite legs. Curse you, big head and short legs!! Thankfully, Martini Cleaners were there to help me out. I brought my costume in and they were able to add an adjustable Velcro strap to the headpiece to fit my melon. They added stitching to the legs to shorten them but also allow me to let out the stitching should another person (with longer legs) want to don the costume in the future. Their price was very fair and they actually completed my alterations a week earlier than was quoted! The ladies that work here are very kind and were quite helpful in finding a solution for my costume dilemma. They have a repeat costumer in this gal! Let me count the ways I love martini cleaners! I show up randomly with bags and bags of cleaning and always need them tomorrow. The owner never offers anything less than a "NOT A PROBLEM" and has everything impossibly perfect when I arrive for pick up. Be it jeans or the most intricate ballgown, Judy and Terry take excellent care of it all. And when there is a question about whether or not an embellishment or button is dry cleaner safe, they go to the trouble of taking it off and then sewing it back on at no extra charge. I've even found they've mended items and hand spot removed my delicates without me asking- who does that? They even pick up and deliver, offer expert tailoring, which I've used on my best chanel; provide shoe/handbag repair. I can't recommend them enough. These guys are great. I've been coming here for a while now since I found them and they have always been very nice and fair. They do pretty much everything, their turn around is standard, they are always very nice and happy to give out coupons and monthly specials. The cleaners I was going to in my area was more convenient but were not very friendly. I stopped in the other day to drop off husband's suit and the woman was refinishing a leather handbag, I had no idea that could be done but they do it! Had a work skirt altered here, they were supposed to take in the sides and when I went to pick the skirt up I didn't have a chance to try it on. They said I could try it on at home and if anything else needed to be done to just come back in. After trying it on I realized the sides were not taken in at all, went back in to see if they would fix it, and they said they would charge extra! I paid them $70 to do half of the job they agreed to and they want extra money to fix their own work.... Will be going to Nordstrom's next time. I waffled between 4-5 stars. They do a nice job on cleaning and repairs at a reasonable price. But unless you are familiar with Burien you may miss it. The awning was removed and as a result the sign is gone; So essentially it's an unmarked building. Their neighbors (a hair salon that looks like it's stuck in the 80s & a vacant appliance shop) only add to the shady vibe. Ultimately I settled on 4 stars because of how run-down the building looks, as well as the lack of signage. The dry-cleaning is consistently 'spot on,' pun intended! I will continue to use patron them & would readily refer friends but not until the outside is renovated. read more

This is an update since my last review wasn't so hot. I decided to give Martini cleaners another go with an old bag that I was thinking of consigning. Judy repaired the handle, replaced the inside bottom and did such an amazing job of cleaning the bag that I decided to keep it instead of consign it!!! Amazing! We brought a comforter in with a 20-year old red pigment stain on it compliments of my sister's puppy. We usually wash it at laundromats but decided to let Martinis clean it for a change. Brought the bag to the cleaner's place to replace a fastener and felt a bit anxious, because the work required detailed attention and professionalism.. Terry = Bad. That is the owner/mother. This is a small family owned and operated business. Her two daughters who are maybe 16ish work there and do most of the cleaning. Long story short, I called around to find a cheaper place to hem my pants and this is where I landed. I came in, Terry helped me, measured my length and pinned the cuff. She mentioned cleaning my pants and I said ok, thinking it was free. As I drove away, I looked at my receipt and there was an additional charge for $6. There was some conversation between Terry and I which resulted in aggravation. I explained to her that my pants were not dirty, I had just gotten off of work, stopped at home to pull my pants out of the dryer and bring them to Martini Cleaners but she insisted that her girls said they were dirty. If I had the energy to get into a full story about this I would but this was a very bad experience that I do not want to fully rehash. I basically turned my car around, picked up my pants and will never go back. The end. read more

Sadly, I feel this place has gone a bit downhill. I went in to have some pants altered around the waist, which I have always had done at Martini's and I've always been pleased with the results. One pair of jeans needed only a minor adjustment and I was told I would not be charged the full price since the alteration was much smaller than usual. I was fitted, sat in the jeans while they were all pinned up to make sure they would feel alright (and they did), everything was cool. In the end I was not only charged the full price, but clearly significantly more fabric was removed because the jeans came out WAY too tight. Further, when the anticipated completion date passed and I had not received a phone call I went ahead and phoned them, and sure enough my pants had been ready for over a week. What a bummer, especially since they're so close, but I won't be returning for another poorly done $30+ adjustment. read more
