The classroom is clean but the coaches are not professional nor polite. Karate is the art of Martial, but the instructor doesn't respect the basic manner of this sport, I'm living just blocks away from this place but will have to choose another Karate school. I told my kid before I go that the coaches would be very nice and polite, but this oppisite image really left him a very bad start and scary of Karate, it will take months for him to recover for this bad experience. I shouldn't take my kid to this place as his first try.

They have a positive attitude and the kids really like and respect their instructors. I enjoy watching from the viewing area - it's impressive what these folks do and what these kids learn... The graduation ceremonies are nice ways to recognize each person's achievement. There are also demonstrations by the instructors to help remind the kids where they are headed. My kid has been going here for about two months now. He's only four so he's in their lil' ninjas…read moreprogram. The instructors do a really good job with mixing up the class with activity and philosophy. There's also a word of the month where they go through what it means and how it applies to every day life (Determination, Cooperation, Charity, etc...) While I'm not sure how good their adult program is, I really like the structure of their lil' ninjas program. It offers little milestones each week and testing every couple of months. It builds discipline in the kids. My kid is already answering me with "Yes sir" at home. Pricing is fair especially since there are four classes per week and you can attend all of them if you have time. Also, if you have multiple kids, they only charge for the first two. Everyone else in the family after that is free (including parents). The school is clean and bright. It seems to be a well run school. If you're looking for something for your kid to build teamwork and discipline (ages 4-7), I highly recommend their lil' ninjas program.

I would like to explain why my son is no longer involved with this organization. My 11 year old son…read morecame home from karate class limping and unable to put his legs together. He proceeded to show me a big purple welt on his inner thigh, given to him by his 7th degree 'master'. The instructor was demonstrating bear-hug defense and purposely pinched my son extremely hard on his inner thigh, leaving a painful purple welt and leaving my son questioning why a trusted, respected teacher of martial arts would inflict needless pain on him. As a parent and a student of martial arts, I needed to know as well. 'Master' Jim explained to me on the phone, that by his choice, he does those things to the children to "toughen the kids up". How about wind sprints until puking? How about kicking a pad until you can't lift your leg?? You take it upon yourself to physically hurt our children with your own hands? 'Master' Jim was anything but apologetic on the phone and kept preaching that he's been demonstrating this move for over 20 years. At the age of 11, my son has been immersed in karate and kickboxing for most of his life. He's always full of new bruises and welts from competing, so I'm not too concerned with superficial injuries. We just moved to the area and thought Villari's would be a good fit for him. I was dead wrong. I would never subject my children to a martial arts instructor, who sends the kids home with marks that he intentionally left on them. This was during a demonstration in front of the class. They were not actively grappling or sparing. This was a red flag, not only to the injury of my son, but to be teaching a self defense technique that utilizes a pinch to the skin.... He declined to demonstrate the pinch on me, after I willing told him I'd love to come in to drill bear-hug defense with him. #mcdojo
