This is a great place to get in shape, and Master Trowbridge is a phenomenal instructor. He's patient, knowledgeable and has a way of pointing out something to improve without making you feel stupid about it. I lost a lot of weight getting started here and I've gained balance, confidence and energy I never knew I could have. After a few weeks it wasn't difficult to convince myself to sign up for 4 nights a week of the Tang Soo Do classes. I highly recommend these classes to all of my friends. My wife and kids take classes (there are separate classes for kids) and love it. Anyone who comes in reluctant comes away ready to come back for more the next day. In addition to the physical benefits of the class, Master Trowbridge is a trained in many forms of martial arts and a capable physical trainer as well. Buyer beware of a place that pushes past accolades, or their father's past accolades. We had experience with a different ATA organization before we moved here, and I wish we had sought out ATA again. Instead, we found a place close to home and the difference is night and day. ATA focuses on character development, real skills, encouraging kids and preventing bullying. The other place focused on money. If you have any doubts, please just try ATA West. We actually got started here through a Groupon, and I am so glad we did. My 7 year old came home tonight asking me what he could do to learn more about self-discipline. He has committed to caring for our dog and running nightly clean-ups-encouraging the whole family to do this. He wants to show us that he can take initiative and do these things without being reminded. I have no doubt he will follow through. This is why I love the ATA program. They were rigorous and…read morechallenging but at the same time work for people of different fitness levels, for example you can power walk, jog, or run but you constantly focus on pushing yourself. The entire workout consists of jogging and running on the treadmill, rowing, and doing weight lifting exercises and stretches in the weight room. They are month-to-month so you are not locked into a long term contract, however there are some intricate rules with the month-to-month membership. I enjoyed seeing my heart rate and results on the monitor and use my heart rate monitor from OTF at my other gym to log my workouts. I would recommend this business and location to anyone. They have very energetic, positive, and supportive instructors and the atmosphere is overall quite nice. The main reason I discontinued my membership was because I already have another gym membership that offered interval training classes, so I didn't need an extra membership. Otherwise, I probably would have continued!
