Patrick Rogne is a great Taiji instructor and a very good person. He has had world-class training by members of the Chen family, who created Taijiquan, and he continues to study with them. The art that he teaches is full and complete, much more than just slow-motion movement. If you are looking for authentic Taiji (Tai Chi) that will strengthen your body, improve your health and help you maintain a balanced mind in an unbalanced world, this is the place to study in Madison. read more

Established in 2014.

Ancient Root Taiji was founded in Madison, Wisconsin as a return to the foundational principles of Chen-style Taijiquan—honoring traditional training while making it accessible to modern practitioners. Rooted in practices like silk reeling, standing meditation, and mindful movement, the school continues to grow as a community dedicated to cultivating health, awareness, and inner strength through the living art of Taiji.

Meditation, Martial Arts, and Alternative Health, has been a big part of my life since about 1980. I was introduced to Tai Chi in 1988 and it has been a constant thread in my life since that time. I have used it in support of my other Martial Arts Training and to empower different parts of my life.
