The girl answering the phone is a horrible heartless human being. I stupidly locked myself out of a rental property that I own and manage. I left the keys to the property and my car in the apartment. All I had on me was my phone and I was an hour away from home. I called Martin Locksmith after another locksmith had me waiting outside in the heat and mosquitos for 2 hours. The girl on the phone told me it would take one of her technicians 20 minutes to come help me with my lock and it would cost $75. I said, yes, lets do it. She asked me if my address on my drivers license matched the property address. I said no, I don't live here, I am the landlord of the property. She said without a physical document proving ownership she was not allowed to touch the property. I was getting frustrated because I couldn't think of a way I would be able to get my hands on something that would meet this requirement. I asked if I could email an insurance quote I knew was in my email. She said no it has to be a hard copy, nothing electronic. I was not impressed and I told her that in that case I could not work with her and hung up. I called 3 more locksmiths with no luck of availability. I decided that before my phone battery died I would try to Lyft to a local UPS store and print out a copy of my mortgage that my sister had to email me because I couldn't get into the portal on my phone. I had to set up Apple pay on my phone at the UPS store to pay for the two page print out because I had no money/wallet on me. I paid my stuff, got another lyft and headed back to the apartment. I called Martin Locksmith back again and the same rude girl said that because it was a slow day she sent most of her crew home a half hour early (it was 4:30, they close at 5) I was too late. I told her I took a lyft to get a print out of my mortgage and she refused to help me because earlier I said I could not work with her. I was not calling because of a minor inconvenience, I had a legitimate emergency and this person refused to help knowing it would be a 20 minute job. Shame on you, you heartless jerk. read more

It's official I WILL NEVER GO TO THE DEALERSHIP AGAIN!!!! My key has finally had it the key broke all the way from the buttons to the key being separate from the remote. It was bad I couldnt even use the remote to lock the car and then if I pushed the button from the inside and lock it then when it was time to open the car it would set the alarm off, then I would have to stick the piece of key in the ignition then use the remote to turn it because it wouldn't turn with out it. It was awful!! I called 3 different dealership and was told something different at everyone wth I was mad and frustrated then to know that is was almost $400-$500 to get another key.... WTH!!! I'm so thankful someone told me about Martin Locksmith and then when I yelp it there were all good reviews. I called to see if they could do it and how much would it be, I explained and the man said $95 I was like for everything he said yes. I was like no way even the programing, he said yes... OMG I went the next day because it was already late, when I got there it wasn't busy and there was no wait no appointment. The man look at the key and said what happened, I told him and we all laughed about it. He cut the key and ask which car and went to the car came back and said ok your good to go!!! ITS $95!!! I was like your done already it was only 2min to program the key. He said there is nothing to it you just have to turn the key one way then put the new key in and your done. (SMH SIMPLE) What pissed me off was the dealership charges $150 to program and then if they cant get it to program its another $150 so my quote for the dealership was $300 because he said my key was in pieces and separate. Then the key was $132+$15 for labor. TOO MUCH!! So needless to say thank you for not over charging and ripping me off for something that was fast and simple only 10mins probably. I called this company and asked for a locksmith to come to check out our front door lock. The dead bolt had been sticking off and on for a long time. It was so bad that eventually my boyfriend couldn't even lock it from the inside. The young lady who answered the phone was so accommodating and instantly looked up an appointment time for us as soon as they had one available. I had called the day after memorial day so they were very busy. Luckily our problem was not an emergency, since we had been putting off calling a locksmith. I'm a landlord, and since I'm using a management company for a property in TX....have to abide by all these strange ass rules regarding security for the property. Was notified that I had to install a standard deadbolt, as well as a "landlord lock-out" aka a single sided deadbolt, as well as a pin lock....all so my property's compliant. Called A-1 Lock & Key, and was quoted some ridiculous prices. Since Martin & Sons was recommended by my Mgmt Co, they were my next call. Was told that they could have someone out same day, between 12:30 and 3:30. Cool beans, I thought. I get a call from Burt saying their tech is on his way, should be at my house in 15 mins. 7 mins later, he calls me back to say that the previous tech was called back to the job he just left, and since it's late in the day, they'll have to reschedule me for the following morning. Having never dealt with them before, I expected the worst...then was pleasantly surprised. Phone call at 8:30am, tech arrival at just after 9am, and after a quick assessment of the job...found that he needed a "charlie bar" from the shop, because my sliding door didn't have enough space for a pin lock. Tech comes back, explains in detail everything he's doing while working, and shoots the shit with me after all necessary explanation has been given. Reasonably priced, friendly service, and the tech I had went the extra mile. Small gesture, but he offered to switch out the gold colored single sided deadbolt I'd purchased @ Lowes, for a nickel colored one he had in his truck, so that my hardware would all match. Trip fee, 2 deadbolts installed, charlie bar, and labor.....$109.37. No complaints, and will keep them in my vendor list! read more

I was locked out of my apartment all night after a gunman shot someone in the street out front. I could not find an all night locksmith and drove around all night before finally checking into a hotel at 4AM and checked the internet and found that Martin & Sons were scheduled to be open at 8:00 am - a half hour earlier than any other locksmith in the area. I set the alarm and called them at 8:02 and the owner answered and I told him of my plight and he told me he was sorry, but his crew was already scheduled for the day. My heart dropped! He told me he wouldn't be able to get a van back in the area until the afternoon. I begged him and told him I was in the same clothes I was wearing all day yesterday and didn't have my phone and had been driving around all night and was only 2 miles from his shop... He told me he would see if he could reschedule one of his teams and would call me back. He called me back and told me he could send a truck out right then before they went out to the first job on their docket.. Best place I know of to get keys made. They've NEVER made a bad key. I use them a lot to make smaller, locker type keys for business use. They always have the blanks, and when I walk in, someone is always there and quick to wait on me. Lots of theme keys available if you want something different. I understand they do car remote programming as well. Have an assortment of new and used safes for sale also. Lots of lock options for doors, windows, all sorts of stuff. Usually just get keys. Prices have always seemed reasonable. Last visit I believe I had fourteen keys made, seven sets. All worked flawless, and the total cost was $21+. Great value. They also do service calls. read more

Had to have new keys made for the minivan. The price here is much more reasonable than the dealership. Martin Locksmith special ordered the keys (only took a couple days for delivery). We accidently ordered a key model with less functionality (it didn't open the rear lift-gate). After the locksmith ordered the keys, cut the keys, and reprogrammed all the keys, I had to call and say that somehow we ordered the wrong keys and we really want keys with all functions. Ordering the wrong keys was probably my fault, but a longer dialog in the ordering process may have helped (who would guess that a given make, model, trim level and year would have more than one choice). I called and talked to the owner, who was very polite and helpful in our discussion. I asked to pay his cost for two new keys, and also asked that they cut and program the keys for free. Martin Locksmith agreed, and politely followed through with their end of the deal. I really appreciate the way they do business and their willingness to work with me. I selected Martin Locksmith after doing my homework, i.e. reading other reviews, and reaching out to this and other service providers for quotes. Martin Locksmith had the best quote, and was very prompt in replying to my e-mail queries. I brought in a blank key and a refurbished fob from carkeysfast.com which I purchased for $40. Martin Locksmith indicated they would be willing to cut and program the same with the caveat that I would be charged $54 whether the programming was successful or not. I chose to go with a refurbished unit instead of a brand new one because of cost ($145 whether you buy it from Nissan or the locksmith). I can't recommend carkeysfast.com enough for refurbished key fobs and blanks, but I digress. They have very good reviews on eBay. Martin Locksmith did not require an appointment. I was in and out within 20 minutes. There were no issues with cutting and programming. The technician made sure that the key and fob worked before sending us on our way. I am very satisfied with this service provider, and would not hesitate to come back to them for future needs. If you prefer to have them to cut a brand new key and fob, they charge $191.97 ($145 for fob and blank, $35 for programming and cutting, and $11.97 tax). By way of comparison, a local Nissan dealership will charge you $25 more ($145 for fob, $60 for programming and cutting, and $11.97 tax). read more

Worst customer experience ever. I stopped by an asked if it were possible to make a key for a used metal storage cabinet that was in my truck. The lock had no code on the front or back. Worst costumer services wish I could give a negative start. Call to get a key for a Cadillac and was told they would have to order that it would arrive the next day. Next day come and call to see what time they were coming to program the key and was told we don't know anything about this key you will have to call the next day to find out what happen. Call the next day and was told you have to go get it your self. Waste of time and there staff are very disrespectful and don't know what there doing. I contacted Aaron's Locksmith and he quoted me $185.00 for the high security Honda key with the service call, but said that he would not be to make it until the next day. I then contacted Martin Locksmith and spoke with Steve. He said that he would match Aaron's price and be able to come out that night. Steve said that he did not have the high security key in stock but had the regular key. He said that he would do the high security key and regular key for a total of $285.00 and that he would order the high security key and that once he received it that he would have someone come back out to cut it. He sent a contracted locksmith, Calvin. Calvin stayed for about 15 minutes and then said that he had another call, but return the next day. On 12/23/2015, Calvin called me and advised me that the job was complete and to contact Steve to make the $285.00 payment. I contacted Steve, who then told me to call Tia at the office. I called Tia and she processed the payment for $285.00. I did not hear from Martin Locksmith in reference to the high security key that Steve was supposed to order, therefore, I contacted their offices. I was then told that the $285.00 was for the plain key. I advised Martin about our phone conversation. He said that he didn't remember our conversation. He said that he would have Calvin, the contracted locksmith, contact me. Calvin called me and said that he had to repair the ignition clip, and the charge was $185.00. I advised him that I spoke with Steve initially and was quoted $285.00 for both keys. I was never advised that the ignition needed a clip to be repaired nor did I authorize my credit card to be charged for it. He then said that Steve never mentioned an additional key. I then spoke with Tia the office manager. She said that she was confused and really didn't know what was going on. I explained everything. She then called me back and said that I could purchase the high security key for $100.00. I advised her that I would not pay an additional $100. I simply wanted what I paid for, and she declined. We discovered after he had left that he had disabled our electronic lock AND our alarm system.
