Baye murphy. I had brought my kia into Martin kia for service the keyfob was not working and 2 days later they told me they needed to order a part. when I dropped it off I had explained I had my motor swapped under warranty and every time I went over a speed bump I heard a weird noise since. it ended up taking over 24 days for them to fix the key issue and offered me no rental or anthing. they promised me 4 days and it took 24. when I go to pick up my car I was told I owe 160 for them checking out the noise. I spoke with a man who accused me of threatening him then got a manager named baye Murphy. he was completely unapologetic refused to do anything and tried to justify their every action. they kept telling me they are independent and not a kia dealer. he stated that kia won't pay so I had too. I would never come to this stealership again. One of the worst mistakes I have ever made was purchasing a car from this dealership. The service team is full of excuses and the so called roadside service is only applicable at this location. I recently moved to MD and my tire was not fixable and guess what? I was told I should have driven 50+ miles on a bad tire to be eligible for reimbursement. In addition, when to schedule an appointment and arrive on time, it means nothing because your appointment is to speak with the service advisor. Even if you previously waited and the part had to be ordered. Word of advice, visit and observe the Service Department prior to purchasing a car. It can make a world of a difference. Service department customer service is horrible! Do not take your car here it's a woman that answers the phone can't remember her name exactly but she out right lied from jump saying they wouldn't be able to see my car until way September-October I go online and was able to book an appointment with them in august. My engine recently blew and Kia is basically under recall right now so I would need to take my car to the nearest dealership I opted to wait until end of September just to take my car to the dealership in Wilmington. So I can have better customer service and my car be looked at properly. The treatment over the phone and tone of this woman over the phone I could just tell I should save myself the head ache in already a stressful situation. Even when I called today to cancel my appointment with them because of their trash customer service the same woman I'm sure answered and she sounded as if she could careless of how they made a potential customer feel. So I'm still waiting for my car to be seen so I can be back on the road which is unfortunate but I refuse. This review is for the service department. Transmission blew on my car at 99,xxx miles and was to be replaced under warranty. Took them a month to figure it out, then an extra week to fix because they "forgot to order a part" and "their only hybrid mechanic" was on vacation. Get my car back and the Air conditioner/climate control is now failing. Loose wire or something from the previous work as it comes on and off as I hit bumps on the road. Now they tell me it will be 6 weeks before I they can look at it and "it's not related to the previous work" well that's B.S. because it's easy to hit or knick a wire and pull it loose or cause a ground fault. Shame on you for your terrible service. read more

Another dealership with poor electronic communication! Why have a parts request form on your website if no one is going to respond? I just moved to the area and was looking for a dealership to start a long term service and parts buying relationship with, but they simply won't call me back. They are friendly on the phone and someone will chat with you online, but when it comes to pricing, they say they will call or e-mail, and that never happens. I have concerns about their service standards if they can't keep consistent communication with a potential client. Perhaps you have to be purchasing a car to keep their attention? Hopefully they can improve the responsiveness of their staff, or I will be going elsewhere for my service needs. read more

I've been having issues with my 2016 Kia Soul, that I bought certified preowned, from Martin Honda on Cleveland Avenue. Since January 2020. The check engine light would turn on the car would jerk and would not accelerate over 20 miles. Then the car would not start at all. This is around the time when Covid first started and repair shop were closed and the car could not be driven for months. Which resulted in me having to leave my job. I've had several appointments since that time and some were canceled because they stated the issue was because of a recall and it was sending a false reading and they didn't have the part and the system was down.Then it was stated that was not the case. I've received a new transmission and a accretion pedal. I've also left my car in the shop and for almost two weeks and nothing. My car should off and wouldn't accelerate in the middle of a business intersection and the response I got was I'm sorry just to park it until my appointment. My car is barely 2 years old and is under 60000 miles. I'm am scared to drive it and I'm making payment on something I can not use full and I'm receiving the run around and this has been since January of last year. I need a resolution I'm concerned and out of funds. read more

I just want to say that I have no problem with my Car and I love my Kia. I bought it from Florida a year ago. I brought my car in to Kia for servicing. I had no problem at all, but when I got my car back I noticed things in my car were shuffled around and looked though. I had a holster in my door handle and somehow ended up in a complete different part of the car. Moral of the story is to tell your employees to not look through peoples sh*t. A month or so after I got my servicing, my car completely just started vibrating while driving and turned off. I had to get a tow to Kia. Brand new car? That's not all of it. No problem, problems happen. What I'm upset about it how they handled the situation. I dropped my car there about a week ago and I have not gotten ONE call from them. I understand that there's other people ahead of me, but my car is my only form of transportation. I asked them for a loaner car, and they unfortunately don't have any. I asked to be put on a waiting list, and apparently the cars are all being used and they give each car brand 16 loaner cars... I asked them for any car and they told me to try rent one from enterprise..???? Like hello if anything you guys should be the ones to pay for it. Chris mentioned he would call me if any cars were available, but I guess the people that have them now have them permanently (sarcastically). Because I spoke to someone outside of the dealership, and they always seemed to have the same situation happen twice in different times (not having a loaner car available). I find it funny how my car started having problems AFTER I took it to Martin Kia. OH and also, I paid for an AC filter change because they TOLD me that's what was causing a vinegar smell... and I'm sure they didn't even do it, because the car smelled the same after. I called Kia and told them about the situation and Chris told me to come in. I didn't want to go back after the first experience of having my car looked through, so I didn't go back. But when I got my car towed there I mentioned it, and Stephanie told me maybe it has to be from the actual AC sensor (I'm not completely sure) but like? You guys sound like mechanics that add any charge to the bill. If you diagnosed my car and told me that was it, then I expect it TO BE FIXED THE FIRST TIME. I swear Chris the supervisor has the most professional adequate for their working environment. Now I see why he has the position he has. But I'm still upset about this whole matter, and them not even following up on my vehicle. Lastly, I tried to transfer my info from my Kia dealership in Florida to Martin Kia and Stephanie told me I couldn't do it. I paid for my oil change and servicing on top of air filter when I didn't have to. When I purchased the car they gave me 2 years free oil change, etc. When my angry mother called them the whole story changed. Apparently I am allowed to transfer it to them, so they need to reimburse me. Don't let them tell you how it is, because at the end of the day you're the customer spending lots of money on something you want to perform right and last. Beware of this dealership. I bought a car there in February. They added a 2500 dollar service contract without my knowledge or consent. When I went in and signed the paperwork to have them removed it they said it would be removed immediately. Guess what. They lied. It is still on my loan gathering interest. These guys are crooked, dishonest thieves. They advertise great prices online but when you get there they say you have to finance some of the cost to get deals. Then without your knowledge they sneak in a 2500 dollar service contract. So if you are buying a kia in Newark be careful. They WILL screw you over if they can. read more

Just wanted to take the time to tell the service people at Martin KIA of Newark Delaware that as a stranded New Yorker, sitting for my daughter, how wonderful they all were. My check engine light came on, it was 2PM Friday and I pulled into the bay area with no appointment. Explaining my situation to Stephanie ,that I had to leave for home Saturday morning no later than 10AM for an important function that evening, Stephanie was very sympathetic and said she would do her best to remedy the situation. I was so surprised that at 3:30PM she contacted me with the news that the car was fixed and I could pick it up. Needless to say I was so surprised and happy and my car was back in my daughters driveway by 4:30 2 1/2 hours after bringing it in. THANK YOU GUYS for all of your help. Be aware of this dealership , I went in to get a all wheel drive , they showed me a red Kia Sportage in the showroom that I liked but just wanted it in black , they said they had one in the lot, i was in a rush that day so they agreed to deliver the car to me which they did, a few days later we had a snowstorm, I noticed that the car kept getting stuck and that's when I realize that they gave me the wrong car, I called a few times and talked to the sales manager named Eric that told me every time that he'll call me back since he has to investigate and never calls , I went and talked to the salesperson named Mo that sold me the car and he admitted that I asked him for a awd and said that the sales manager never asked him or investigated anything about this case, I bought this car for business purposes and I lost lots of money in the last snowstorm since I had to close , these people are very rude after they get your money and close a deal so if they do a mistake they won't fix it and you're going to be on your own read more

This dealership was trying to bully my elderly parents into a bad deal. My elderly parents were presented with an astronomical price for a KIA vehicle. When my parents tried to leave, sales associates tried to intimidate them by telling them it was too late to leave despite the fact that no paperwork had been signed. My sales person Stephanie Pender was excellent! My lease process went smooth and quickly. My only issue was with the business manager Nick Lee. His "bed side" manner is sub-par to say the least. After I politely declined all of the "extra" warranties that he was offering for additional purchase his whole demeanor changed. I didnt get a handshake at the end of the deal or nothing. I also called and left him a detailed voice mail message because I had a quick question about my contract. Did he return my call? Of course NOT. Back in 2016 I co-signed for my daughter with her purchase of a Kia Optima and I had an unpleasant experience with him even back then. I suggest you all finding a replacement business manager! From the initial phone contact with Erik Dammeyer, to seeing the inventory in person with Caitlin Osborne, this was a truly enjoyable experience. Everyone was upfront and honest in regards to delivering on the expectations I had as a customer. Very low pressure (but very hands-on) approach to the sales experience. Caitlin was especially phenomenal. She showed me quite a few vehicles, asking me questions to get to know "me", therefore allowing her to recommend a vehicle that would fit my needs (and a few wants as well!). If I could give negative stars I would......I'm not usually a reviewer but this place tried to take advantage of my parents and overcharge them! The price they were given was outrageous.....$350 a month for 7 years! It was the smallest Kia SUV they have....I said no we went over to Honda and got an brand new SUV for $366 a month for 5 years....it doesn't make any sense and they were very rude after I asked if we can continue shopping around and come back for the quoted price if we decided to go with the expensive price they quoted us.....of course the manager so no I'm not going to do that ! Also they tried to tell us that we were too late and the transaction was already done even though my parents had not signed any papers! Rude and rushing my parents is what they did.....if you want a new Kia find another dealership because these folks are rude and trying to rob hard earned $$ never again .....charging more for a Kia than a Honda!
