Dr. Hoff is just an amazing surgeon.
Our journey with this started 2 years ago. My son, after a consultation, it was determined that he had to have eight teeth removed, and this was when he was nine years old. Dr. Hoff first referred us to Dr. Rim, an orthodontist. We went there to determine when the best time would be to remove my son's teeth. I didn't understand any of this at first, but both Dr Hoff and Doctor Rim explained it to me. They were waiting for his adult teeth to start to push up the baby teeth so that my son would have the best chance of not needing braces. When there is a tooth missing, the other teeth start to shift and take that space, we could have really had a problem if Dr Hoff had just taken out the teeth and not had thought this through and sent us to Dr. Rim.
Dr. Hoff's office staff was fantastic, they kept in touch with us by having us make the appointments and leading us through this, to me, scary procedure, of taking eight teeth of my nine-year-old son's mouth.
We just had our procedure done yesterday, my son is now 11 years old and instead of 8 teeth having to be taken out, he only needed four and there was only one with a little bit of a root. The other three came out easily and even the one with the root was not a problem.
My son has never had a cavity, he has never had a novocaine shot, he has never had anything done in the dentist office except to get his teeth cleaned and the normal x-rays Etc. So I was worried about how my son would handle all of this.
I was able to tell Dr Hoff, without my son knowing,that he had never had any kind of a novocaine shots or anything. Dr. Hoff was understanding and told me everything would be fine, and thanked me for letting him know.
Like I said earlier, our procedure was yesterday, my son came through it like a champ. Dr. Hoff was amazing, the staff was supportive and at one point during the procedure, went to check to see where they were with the teeth extractions, and told me that they heard my son laughing !!. I was just so amazed and relieved.
This morning my son is back to his old self, playing with his friends and tells me he has no pain at all. I myself when I get a cavity filled at my dentist I'm still uncomfortable the next day. My son after having many novocaine shots and his teeth out reports to me that there was no problem and he has no pain.
Dr. Hoff was kind, upbeat, and really took great care of my son (and his parents haha.)
They rolled my son out in a wheelchair and he had a great time with that too!
Sorry for such a long review but this really is a big deal when you have to take your child to have such an invasive procedure, that has to be done, and you want him in the best hands possible.
Dr. Hoff was wonderful with my now 11 year old son, only four teeth had to be extracted, and less than 24 hours later he's out playing with his friends.
I feel bad for other kids that don't have a Dr as competent as Dr Hoff. When the secretary at his grade school found out he was having teeth extracted what on a Friday she wondered if he would feel well enough on Monday to come to school. He could have gone to school the next day. !
Also, thinking about it, if Dr Hoff had taken his teeth out 2 years ago, that would have been a much more invasive surgery. Dr. Hoff didn't rush into anything and in return my son had an easy time of what could have been a difficult situation.
Trust what Dr Hoff says to you, he really knows what he's talking about.
