This has always been a constant when travelling on US 219. When you come upon this spot you know…read moreyou are just outside Somerset and the Turnpike is not far away. It is kind of like an oasis when travelling in this area of Pennsylvania. This sits on a fairly big piece of land, but somehow still feels small. Maybe that is because many people stop here to get gas or pick a forgotten item at home. My most recent visit here I observed many people coming out with items like milk and bread. You may end up paying a bit more than at your neighborhood grocery store, but I don't think many people would mind due to the fact that you are saving yourself a trip and some hassle. As far as gas prices, they are reasonable and expected for the area. Honestly I feel like this spot could charge whatever it wanted. They do not have any immediate competition nearby. It is one of the first exits to Somerset that offers gas. And people will come here regardless of that. Not sure who supplies the gas, but it seems to be fairly good with mileage. For a roadside stop, definitely fills the need.

The deer blood I had in my truck was not coming out as easy as expected. I traveled over 20 miles to come to what I thought was a highly recommended gas station/ car wash but I was quite disappointed. They must…read morego through a rigorous orientation because they know where everything in that store is and if they don't, they stop what they're doing and look with you. I have never received that professionalism elsewhere. They care that your shopping experience goes smoothly. I shop there at least twice a week. I have NEVER been treated rude or ignored when I would need assistance. You can't beat the prices. The meats are excellent quality and the deli has the best selection of cheeses and lunchmeats along with the best prices. They also carry unique items that are not available elsewhere. To all the staff: Keep the great work up and thank you for putting yourselves at risk during this pandemic. God bless you all Parking is a challenge because they are always so busy which tells you what a great place to shop. I just believe drivers need to slow down and be mindful of their surroundings including myself. If you lack patience, this is not the place for you. Any rudeness I've encountered in shopping there through the years has not been from the staff but from a small amount of impatient customers. I just smile at the person and move on.

The inside does not look like much has been updated. It's the typical grocery store out there. Fluorescent lights illuminate the aisles, generic looking price tags, and all the items that line any aisle in any grocery store. They do have some pretty great sales, but with any sale, you have to strike at the right time. Prices for items not on sale seem to be the going rate for them in the area. Staff were super polite and I appreciated that.

As a consequence, Walmart delivery is far more convenient and cheaper even with the delivery fees. I like that the cashiers are friendly and the deli has a couple decent items that are not found everywhere. They have fried chicken that is decent. The store is small and feels cramped but it is generally clean. Actually getting anyone to help you is rare. They do offer fresh doughnuts which are decent and I highly recommend them. You can occasionally get a good price on limited items in the store that are not in the ads. On rare occasions they do offer good sales worth keeping an eye out for if you are someone who shops around. Keep this store on your list for bakery items and select items being promoted but definitely don't shop for your family here.

With my sandwich, I purchased a Celsius beverage for $4.64, almost $2.00 more than it will cost you at most locations. If this market was in a very remote location to justify significantly higher shipping costs, I could understand the absurdly high markups, but it isn't THAT far off the 'beaten path.' I'm guessing they mostly cater to a high-income customer base, so they're simply price gouging to take advantage of that. For the rest of us 'common folk,' just be prepared to shell out more than you may have anticipated.

With the tree line and stream, there is nothing at this intersection but this gas station/convenience store. When I saw this, I thought is was your run of the mill country gas station. At the pumps, it is essentially so. But when you go inside it is a bit different. They were able to fit so much stuff inside here that it serves more than just a convenience store. They have an island as the register area. That area has items that you would expect behind the register. Tobacco products and items of the such. When you walk further into the store you find the items that you would expect in a convenience store. But you also find that this can be a corner store if you forgot something. They also had some prepared items, but I can't remember exactly what they were. They also have the skills games that are popping up everywhere you go. The best part of this place are the employees. They may appear and come off as gruff, they are the sweetest employees I have come across. Decent place to visit.

The employees were very friendly, and the cashier even wished me a Happy Father's Day on my way out! Downstairs, you can visit the liquor store, and the beer store to stock up on adult beverages. The guy working the beer cooler down there was super friendly, and they have a firefighter's boot by the register to collect money to help out the local firehouse and all the guys serving the community. He, too, also wished me a Happy Father's Day and thanked me for my business. Nothing like patronizing a local, small business in a very tight knit community. This place does everything right, and the entire layout of the premises is really cool. It also looks like they've got enough private space downstairs to host some events and cookouts, and I'd like to be around there some time for that. The entire location is super clean and welcoming.
