I attended a friend's wedding this past Friday at Elkins Estate, tucked away in beautiful Elkins…read morePark, PA. The estate itself is absolutely stunning! From the moment you arrive, it exudes pure luxury and elegance. Valet parking is the only option, which adds to the upscale experience. Unfortunately, the outdoor ceremony was overshadowed by a loud party taking place behind the property. The music and noise were distracting during the bride and groom's exchange of vows, which was incredibly disappointing. I genuinely felt bad for the couple. In my opinion, the venue should consider coordinating with neighboring establishments to minimize noise during wedding ceremonies. For a venue of this caliber, couples deserve to exchange their vows without outside interruptions. On a more positive note, the bartenders were fantastic! The drink selections, presentation, and overall service were impressive. Cocktail hour offered a nice variety of options, with the lamb chops being my absolute favorite! Dinner, however, was just average and didn't quite live up to the elegance of the venue. Additionally, the table arrangements made it difficult to hear, particularly for guests seated near the entrance. Overall, Elkins Estate offers undeniable charm and luxury. However, once inside, I found certain areas a tad dark, and the historic atmosphere gave me somewhat of a plantation-era feel, which may not appeal to everyone. While the architecture is impressive, a few aspects of the overall guest experience could use improvement, especially considering the level of sophistication the property represents.

There are many different classes including drawing, metals, clay, and painting all at different times. You are able to choose the day and time that works for you the best. They also provide studio hours to work on projects outside of class to give you flexibility! I took my classes with Shannon who is great at teaching, but also allowing you to experiment and discover your own talents. I've learned so much about clay through her and other students because we were given the freedom to do so! Also, the technician, Brittany, is knowledgeable about clay and is able to give you tips and advice. Not to mention she is super organized and efficient! I have never had a problem having my projects fired and glazed in a timely manner. In general, all staff and instructors know so much and are willing to help you. Also, all the students who take the classes with you are willing to give you a second opinion or tips that they have learned during their time here. So whether you're a beginner or expert, this is a good place to exchange ideas and be creative. I highly value this place and recommend it if you're looking to start a new hobby or try exploring the arts. Overall, the Abington Art Center has the kindest people, abundant resources, and up to date facilities to help you grow in your adventure!

If you have between 100-120 guests, Curtis provides an incredible value, as you get enough indoor space to fit everybody, plus access to the ample tables and chairs on site. The space itself is beautiful. The ceilings are wonderfully ornate, and the park is a great space for your guests to explore and enjoy. We spent half the night outside on the porch, and used the beautiful stone steps as a staging point for family pictures. I have one caveat to this review. Unlike other wedding venues, Curtis isn't really a client-facing organization. It is run by Cheltenham Township, and used primarily for township events and meetings, not weddings. So you shouldn't expect the customer service experience that you might be used to elsewhere while wedding shopping. That's what the review below is likely referring to. Personally, my wife and I found the pampering treatment annoying and were able to save a lot of money by using vendors who don't do the whole over the top wedding thing.

The atmosphere was relaxed and welcoming dim lighting, good music, and the kind of vibe where you can sit for hours without feeling rushed. The burger was easily the highlight. It came out hot, juicy, and perfectly cooked with a nice sear on the outside. The bun was soft but held everything together, and the toppings were fresh and balanced. Every bite had that classic, satisfying burger flavor that makes you slow down and enjoy it. It's the kind of burger that reminds you why simple bar food can still be amazing when it's done right. The drinks were just as good. The bartenders clearly knew what they were doing the cocktails were well mixed, not too strong, not too watered down, and the selection of beers was solid. Whether you're in the mood for a craft beer or a mixed drink, there's plenty to choose from. Overall, it's a great spot if you're looking for a place with excellent burgers, good drinks, and a laid-back atmosphere.
