I am visiting the San Luis Obispo area, and my son came down with an ear infection and had developed a funky rash. I called every ND in the area and soonest anyone could fit me in was in another 2 weeks! I was ready to drive to an office in LA when I contacted Dr. McGaughney. She fit me in the same day! I liked her office, it is professional without the typical sterile doctor office feel. My immediate impression of her was great. She was very attentive and listened to my rambling very patiently, despite the fact that she probably knew what the problem was right off the bat. She was incredibly warm and caring and was great with my baby. She diagnosed the issue very quickly (but not in a rushed sort of way) and offered several different options for mitigating his symptoms and boosting his immune system. I wish we lived closer so that she could be our family doctor. If you do live in the San Luis Obispo area, you are lucky to have such a great ND in your area, and should absolutely take advantage of it!

I actually called all over town looking for the best price, and decided to see Lori because I felt confident she could help me with this new condition, due to the conversation we had on the phone. She alluded to her "many years of experience" and "various qualifications" too numerous to tell in the short time we had on the phone. I decided to give her a try. I arrived today and was ushered into her very lovely lobby and then treatment room. I was given a menu of services and we discussed her areas of expertise and my physical condition so that she could customize a massage for my particular body. Although, as I say, I normally seek out deep tissue work, we agreed that a combination of the various modalities she's trained in would be the best approach for my symptoms. I lay down on her memory foam topped table with super lush bedding (wow - so incredibly comfortable!!) and was treated to aromatherapy, hot stones (ok - I get what the hype's all about now!), deep tissue, stretching, accupressure, and even some education about what all she was doing and why. It was a wonderful session and I left feeling rejuvenated and energized on top of my sense of healing, relaxation, relief from my symptoms, and overall well-being. As she said in our session, her focus was on getting my body into balance, and then the body knows what to do from there. I am sad that I won't be able to visit her for more treatments since I'm moving within the week, but she was kind enough to recommend a colleague in my new town who could offer similar treatments. It's almost comical now. How long will I have to wait?? Dr showed up at about 2:55 and he is extremely nice. He apologized and said that his entire staff is new and that they had just opened this office two months ago. Hopefully when I go back next month they will have their act together. Because I'd like to keep Dr. Luu as my primary.

The doctor, Kurdis came is for skin check but didn't look at my body. He said the patches on my skin were "getting old" I asked what it was and thats all I got. I had to come back I should never have..he didnt get insurance authorisation for my most obvious problem that was infected. He however did burn off my face blemish from the wrong side it dripped down my face burning my check as it ran down my face. My friend and I came here on a weekend for a 60 minute massage. There are two lovely women here, they're not very proficient in English but you can understand the basics. We got an appointment immediately. The massage was truly the best part. They ask if you want it medium pressure or if it needs to be sensitive. I went with medium, she took care of a lot of my knots, I had some tense muscles she did a very good number on those. I really enjoyed it. I had a shoulder pain going in and it completely disappeared after the massage. Again, it's not a very fancy place but a decent place for a good massage. They know what they're doing and are reasonably priced. Do let them know what you like and if you have any areas you want them to avoid or focus on. They only accept cash, so make sure you have cash on you and a little extra for tip. It's definitely worth it.
