I have been to Avery acupuncture to help with sciatica and other pain issues related to having some herniated discs as well as other back problems and I think her services are extremely helpful. She helped me tremendously last year with my sciatica , I began having issues again this year ( I have spinal stenosis and degenerative disc disease) I went to see Veronica and saw an improvement after my first appointment, it's best to schedule a few appointments imo but anyway I highly recommend this practice. Veronica is awesome as well as her massage therapist that starts each acupuncture appointment with a cupping session. I can honestly say Veronica Avery literally saved my life; TWICE!!! I've been an acupuncture patient of hers for about 5 years. Three years ago she was instrumental in finding a gluten sensitivity I've had for 35 years. Eliminating gluten from my diet changed my life from half-dead to feeling human again. I originally started seeing Veronica for some back pain that was unrelieved by physical therapy, rest, or medication. I had only one other very bad experience with Acupunture and was apprehensive about the whole thing. Veronica was so kind and understanding at our first visit, she really made me feel heard and set my mind at ease about the whole process. Fast-forward 20 or so visits. Did I get relief from my back pain? No. Although there were visits that helped bring me increased mobility, or temporary pain reduction. In the end the pain was the same. However what I did get out of it was the ability to relax, to calm my mind, and to quite my mind and fall asleep at night without trouble. Each visit was pretty much the same, she would ask where I felt I needed work, she would do some cupping (amazing!), place the needles (painless) and then turn on a guided meditation or music (my choice which) and then leave me to rest for... I'm not sure how long because within minutes I would be in a deep, deep sleep. Upon waking she would remove the needles, spray my skin down with something cool and we would be done. When I would get off the table I would feel lighter, feeling almost drunk or euphoric. It would take about 30 minutes to ware off and there were times I would have to sit in my car for a bit before my head was clear enough to drive. As someone who has terrible sleep I really began to look forward to my visits, knowing I would get the deepest sleep of my whole week while there. Her office is very clean, her front desk staff was always polite, and she brings her fabulously sweet dog to work. Veronica herself is amazing, she is kind, respectful, and really makes you feel welcomed and comfortable.
