This is the newer library in Roseville. It's quite nice, it's nice to the Roseville Utility Exploration Center. The library is 2-story and has a pretty extensive collection of books. It's kept nice and clean and it feels very comfortable, especially on a hot summer's day. There's whimsical decorations and the lighting is really relaxing here. It's one of the nicest libraries I've ever been in, and my kids immediately felt comfortable and settled in to read. The upstairs feels less cozy, but is still very nice, with bright natural lighting for the grown ups. Overall, this is a very well designed library that feels very comfortable and safe.

This is the closest library to our house and we love it. From the Utility Exploration center, to the library itself, STEM workshops and Storytimes. It's all top notch. The ONlY complaint is that they still enforce late fees at the libraries in Roseville. I haven't had to worry about late fees in such a long time, every city has usually done away with them. We also love the playground behind the library, the baseball fields and the little trail that connects to the Aquatic Center.

I love coming here with my daughter. We come here a few days a week for reading, and so my daughter can play a few games on the computer. The librarians that work here are always so helpful. For the life of me, I can never remember to- A. Bring my library card. and B. Remember my library card number. The librarians are always looking it up for me with no hesitation. I'm surprised they don't just say, Hi Ursula, as I walk in every few days. Their hours vary- Monday-Wednesday until 7 pm Then Thursday & Friday until 5pm. There is also a great kids section to stretch out and relax while you read a book. I'm sure adults can, too. Lol! Not only is this a library, there are rooms here where they have educational classes... for example, my daughter's school came here and learned about water conservation. Recycling. Saving our earth. Ok, not only did her class learn, so did I. I enjoy the youngsters that taught us. They made learning fun for the kids and I am now curious for what else they teach here. Don't forget to check out the playground around back!

What an awesome new library in Roseville! I started volunteering here today for Mother Goose On The Loose (a literacy program for young children) and it's great. I can't believe there hasn't been a review for this place. I don't even know where to start, but my favorite thing about this library is the tree in the middle of the children's section. It's a neat little place to read books for kids! The second floor has more books for older kids and adults, it also has a game center with game consoles like nintendo wii. Oh man, and they have a cool shaded park for toddlers just to the side of the library, too. I wasn't shy in trying out some of the stuff the playground had to offer. I hella felt like a kid today! This is a newly discovered location for me, so I've yet to tell more about it. Friendly staff and eager readers running around everywhere. So far, so good!

My little one loves it here. So friendly and clean. The playground for toddlers outside is super nice and shaded. Even has sunscreen.

Good looking library, just really loud. Not the best place to study if you're looking to concentrate.

Roseville Public Library - Maidu Branch - Interior

Roseville Public Library - Maidu Branch

Adj: informative and sufficiently comprehensive…read more An older branch of the Roseville libraries, but a good one! I've been here once before a couple of years ago, but recently, we wanted to stop by again. The library is NOT part of the Placer County library system, which was pointed out to me (I already knew, but it was good to be reminded) as I signed up for a Roseville library card! Did you know that as a CA resident that you can sign up for a library card at locations NOT in your county/city of residence? Yup, you do have to return physical items to one of the branches of whatever library system you borrow from, BUT if you were just using their e-materials like Libby or Hoopla, then it's NO problem! So I decided I wanted another library card, so I quickly applied online (short form) and then went up to the information desk and the librarian/assistant attentively helped me right away and gave me an overview of Roseville's library offerings as well as rules and regulations (and fees/fines). Unlike many other library systems, they DO have late fees here, but I don't plan to borrow physical books or any other kinds of tangible materials, so I won't have to worry about that. Onto the library itself. One side is books for adults (I hesitate to write adult books lest people misunderstand, lol) and there are many shelves of grown up books, so their collection seems quite comprehensive. Next, there's a shelf of Friends of the Library books for sale, not a whole lot, but a respectable amount. Then there's the kids section on the opposite side of the library, and there's a good amount of book stacks on shorter shelves that do not block the view of kids which I finally noticed is the case at like all libraries, lol. Not sure why I never made that connection before. It's a smaller children's area than other libraries, but they tried to make it more cheerful w/more colorful furniture and decorations/posters on the walls. There are also kids' computers that only kids can use so that's good. Finally, there's a community room that's pretty big for meetings and if you want to have a private event or party, it seems you can rent it for reasonable rates (see pics). Outside of that room, there's a courtyard, but I didn't see a way to get out there as the door leading out was locked, maybe it's only for staff to hang out and eat lunch in? I'm not sure, but that meeting room has a lot of nice natural light streaming in b/c of the floor to ceiling windows. Overall, this is an older, but well maintained and kind of quaint library next to Maidu Community Center which is inside the Maidu Regional Park (which I've not yet explore, maybe next time). PS - obligatory bathroom visit: clean, but older, some rust on the metal doors/walls, could use an update on some of the facilities, but everything was functional.

IIRC, we've been here before, but it's been a while. This is an older library from the looks of it, but it's pretty well kept up. It's clean and quite open inside. The bathrooms at near the entrance and they were ok, my kid says it's a little messy inside probably from inconsiderate patrons, but it's still overall clean. Once you enter the library, you'll see the front desk / information desk. The wife had some questions and the staff was helpful to provide the info. Meanwhile, I wandered around a bit. On the left side of the library is the adult section with many rows of book shelves, there's also 1 long wall of books for sale by the Friends of the Library. Not a huge selection, but they had a nice variety for kids and adults alike. The kids area is on the right side of the library, not very big, but good enough. There are also about half a dozen computers dedicated for the kids to use. Towards the back there's a community room you can rent by the half-hour, guess you can't just reserve it for free. You're allowed to use it if no one else is occupying it and it's not being rented out, but for your own event, guess you have to rent it. All in all, this library isn't very big, but it's good-sized enough for the community as there are 2 other libraries operated by the City of Roseville, this library is not part of the Placer County library system, so it's important not to mix them up in case you do check out books from both systems. The look of the library is definitely dated, but it's kept clean and organized and it's nicely set inside the Maidu Regional Park so it feels safe and it's surrounded by nature, we'll definitely visit again.

Few days ago, although I was so exhausted but my little ones needed to borrow books no matter how tired I had to put on that mommy energy and get them here. I sat next to the window, watched through the window cars passing and enjoyed the outdoor lush beauty. There was a magic, no phones, library silence, row of books that stand like silent companions and each holding a world within the spine of books. At least the books are silent not like manager's, they don't ask how fast can you work on this. I feel library is a safe space, read, wander with imaginations, crave for more and eager to read next book from the series and let your brain learn new words or emotions through the book. Growing up, I was happy whenever the library trailer book bus came to our school. We never had library while growing up, so I looked forward to borrow book's when the library bus came. I clearly remember one time, my favorite book was dinosaur book. I renewed twice because the story was my favorite. And I'm glad my kids enjoy reading and thanks to the public library, we've borrowed thousands of books. And without the library, this wouldn't be possible without breaking the bank. And thanks to the library, we can borrow from different branches. They make it possible for kids to read and grow. All I want to say, thank you! You are making a big difference in our lives.

You cannot get up close and personal with them like you can in Sweden, but we know why this is and why we cannot have nice things. The museum has kindly set up visual maps that help visitors make out the glyphs along the nicely maintained nature trail. If you are visiting in summer please stay hydrated as the trail is only partially shaded. It's about a 1.5 mile loop, but there's a longer bike trail that it is connected to. All is well-marked. $7 admission will get you access to the walking trail (there's probably a way for local cyclists to access the trail without paying but idk man, I'm from out of town.) and the museum, which does have restrooms and a water fountain inside. My friend and I enjoyed the museum and art exhibits indoors, then our nice nature walk outside to view the petroglyphs, mortars, and grinding rocks. We saw raptors, turkeys, lizards, turtles, deer, rabbits, and probably other creatures I am forgetting by now. Definitely stay on the trail as there are these lovely things called ground hornets (stingers up) we were warned about by the friendly staff. The weather was blessedly fair for July (Pocki brought Swedish summer over here and then left with it when she went back home) so we only had to suffer high 80s on the trail. I highly recommend visiting with walking shoes and water bottles. We spent a good two hours here. One could bring a picnic as there are benches outside, but we didn't bring more than a few snacks. Parking is available wherever you can find it along the suburban street. There is not a dedicated lot, but there are a few disabled parking spaces in the front.
