This charming location has outdoor seating overlooking the Hooikade canal (regarded as one of the most scenic in The Hague) with affordable prices on wine, tea, and sandwiches, salads, cakes, and little bites (honestly this is probably the most affordable option in the neighborhood). The indoor area is cozy on a rainy day, and a lot of the people who frequent the place are locals in the know. The two women who own the cafe used to work in it and were able to come up with the money to buy when the previous owner sold, and they are lovely (added bonus of giving business to them!). I really like the grilled cheese with ham, called a tosti, but beware that sandwiches here come with 3 layers of bread so are quite filling. The cakes are also nice. read more
