This place is always chaotic and messy. I don't come here often because when I do it gives me a headache. The clothes are all over the place. Nothing is in order. You cant find the sizes you need or the types your looking for. Your walking all over clothes because everything is so stuffed together that it all falls on the floor. There is always so many people here and the cashiers are so slow that by the time they take one person 4 other people get in line. I only come here when I absolutely have to. read more

This Marshall's is FAR better than the one in Atlantic Center. Yes, it's still disorganized, but the lines aren't nearly as bad. I've been here twice recently. The first time, I picked up a home decor item (a hanging thingy that I'm planning on filling with shells), for around $10. The second time, we had to go back because the guy was experiencing reverse shopper's remorse (is that a thing?) for not buying the pair of dress shoes he'd nearly bought last time. He ended up getting not one, but two pairs of very nice shoes for $40. each. Not insanely cheap, but a big savings off the retail. As I said, both times the lines were less than 5 minutes, and staff were available and able to answer questions. read more

This Marshall's has really bad customer service and apparently likes to bait and switch prices. This had happened twice. A long time ago we tried to purchase a vase. When we went to pay, the cashier brought item to the back to speak to someone else as she was doing that, she removed the price sticker and then came back and said that was the wrong price. She then gave me some other number as the price and refused to honor the sticker price even though it wasn't a defective sticker at all. I later called Marshall's CSR and they said it it fine for the cashier to do that. I asked for this company policy in writing but they couldn't provide that to me. Today, my mom went to purchase a dress. The price tag was neatly and legitimately linked to the dress. When she went to pay, the cashier tore off the price tag from the dress, spoke to the "manager" and then said it is the wrong price. When my mom asked what is the price, the cashier couldn't tell her. I don't understand how a store can justify doing that. So the prices are set by the employees of the store at will? And then worst of all, even the company justifies it but can't produce anything in writing that backs it up? Aren't the employees trained and have specific company guidelines to follow and those guidelines will be in writing? Or do employees learn by osmosis? So this one star review is not so much that the store has poor inventory, messy, or long lines, because sometimes these things are not entirely their fault. But switching prices at will? That's unjustifiably wrong. It only takes one experience to ruin the name/brand. It takes a lot more to gain it back. read more

Their selection is vast and you can usually find what you want here. But you'll also noticed the mess of shoes, clothes and crap on the floor. The tax-subsidized preK daycare like environment allows unattended kids rip open toys off the shelves and throw shoes all over the floor. It is disgusting walking around in a landmine of products you wish to purchase strewn around like the aftermath of a riot. I feel bad for the employees who deal with this day by day. It would be ideal if employees had pepper spray full of aerosolized benadryl to quell these kids. read more

I buy my bras here, at Marshall's. Calvin Klein, size 34[redacted]. Wonder bra, too, but mostly Calvin Klein. The woman who watches the fitting room is lovely. Aside from the bras and their cheap prices, with which I'm very happy, for they give me great support and some oomf, I don't have any other new wisdom to impart on this place. I have a $10 store credit for Marshall's, and I'd rather give it away than go into this store. There is ONE register area for all transactions: purchases, returns, and exchanges. The line is ALWAYS wrapped around in a double Z pattern, no matter what time, day, or holiday you go. The shelves, similar to the ones at Atlantic Center Target, always look like they were just bombed; essentially destroyed, and unorganized. Having said that, the service at the registers is always impressively civil given the amount of b.s. and tempers they must have to manage amidst the chaos of the checkout line. read more

If you combine all of my shopping experiences from this Marshall's.. I would have to say that it is clutttered, messy, and crowded. But was able to find the necessary items..(Please note "necessary"). I dont go here to browse around to see if I can find something, like how you would do at Filene's basement or DSW. I did that once here and never will do it again. When i say "cluttered, messy, and crowded", the store looks like it is always in a disarray. If you go there on a Saturday afternoon, there are packed families with strollers shopping, clothes flung on racks, shoes on the floor, etc. But there were times that I went there out of necessity (cooking pans, socks, table cloths) and found my items. They just need to do something about the lines. I went there recently on a Monday morning (like at 10:30) and the store was beautifully cleaned and organized which asissted me with finding my table cloth really quickly. I got to the cashier area and...... I was waiting on that line for a half an hour. I spent the majority of my time waiting on the line than actually shopping. So just be prepared for this. read more

It's so frustrating to shop here. The wait on the line is always half an hour! What the heck! The items in this store are very disorganized. The styles here are also mostly outdated. After standing on line for half an hour, I find a staff member standing at the end of the line telling us which cash register to go to. The cash registers are close together. We can hear them call us. There were only three open registers. When a male worker asked her to do him a favor and page so and so to open up, she said yea i'm going to open up soon. The line was up to where the shoes were! Why haven't you done so yet and still standing there! There's a serious issue with the management here if they think this is okay. read more

Every department store, or every store, I should say, differs in its inventory strong points. For example, Macy's a a good place to buy jeans. This store is not that good of a place to find jeans as the selection is very low. Work pants, however, you'll find plenty of. This is a great place to buy hand bags. I've found some really nice ones over the years for reasonable prices. In stores like Khols, Macy's and many other ones, the hand bag selection is putrid and the decent handbags (if any such exist there) are heavy on the wallet. But here there are a lot of neat ones. I bought this large black pleather bag and it is very ideal as I carry heavy books with me. Every time I go here, it's for one or a few specific things, but I end up finding a lot of good stuff, so bring extra money with you, because you will find gems. There are a lot of casual, practical and comfortable clothes here. Trendy- too. Some clothes even belong to all three of those categories. The shoe selection is also very favorable. They have Michael Khors!!! And they're cheaper at this store. All in all, this is a great place to shop for clothes and shoes. However, the lines are morbid. They are never linear, both rather are set up in a spiraling sort of way, so even if you're on-line with a friend, it's not recommended to put something back or get something as going back to your place in line will be difficult and even quite embarassing. read more

The dressing rooms are nicely light, roomy, with long mirrors and the lines move a bit now due to the lit up registers. They have a large shoe department , however you do have to take the time find the style and size you want, but the discounts make worth the wait I found a nice dress for less than 40 dollars. Natalia at the register was very helpful. She noticed the soles of shoes had some scuffs, went to find another pair, with was not found, then gave us discount. read more

The lines at this Marshall's are out of hand. They could hire 4 more people and still be backed up. I've walked out of here more than once because of the lines alone. This Marshall's does not enforce COVID-19 regulations. They had an employee working there while the employee was infected with COVID and didn't stop working until recently. Customers are not enforced to wear masks and neither are the staff. read more

Marshalls/TJ Maxx are my favorite stores. This used to be my "home base" Marshalls, and boy did I not fully appreciate what I had until I moved away and have to shop at lesser than Marshalls/TJ Maxx stores. This Marshalls always has my sizes (25, 0,2, XS, S, 7.5, 8 etc) when I come back home to shop. I appreciate that fact so much more now that the stores by me hardly ever have my size if at all. When I come back I stock up, I pretty much everything in my size. Yes you have to dig around, yes you have to go early or the store is so ridiculously crowded, and messy but that's only because the store has such high volume the store cannot keep up without more staff. A few questions I've always wondered: why did they switch the once separate refund and purchase lines to be this one huge line? why not hire more staff? the store obviously does well... the store experiences a ton of issues with theft...I always hear management talking about it every time I'm there...SO WHY NOT HIRE MORE STAFF? Still worth coming here in my book, I just get here as soon as it opens. read more

This Marshalls is pretty bad, messy, chaotic, unorganized, a bit dirty, any any other way you would like to describe it in a negative way. The people who shop here aren't the most chipper either. Bottom line is Mashalls always has great deals and that's why you go, don't stay away because of the experience just go in and be all business about it and get out. That's the only way to shop here. It's much better than that dump next door American Place. On a final unrelated note, i've always wondered what they do with all the space they have upstairs, this location is massive because it used to be a movie theater (Lowes Oriental) but theres no way why could use all of the space for staorage, there must be some great parties going on upstairs! read more

A pretty small Marshall's with long lines most of the time. Whenever I come here, I brace myself for a long wait and make sure I have my phone with me for entertainment. Like most department stores, if you come here early, the shelves are better stocked and more organized. If you're patient and in the mood to dig, you can find some good shoes and housewares for almost half the original price. I got a set of Ralph Lauren bedsheets for $39.99 that I found at Macy's for $89. read more

It gets ridiculously long, and I must've been waiting at least 30 minutes to check out. Products, clothes and hangers litter the floors and it is difficult to navigate your way through the store, but I almost always score amazing deals from Marshall's so I will look past the floors. Almost always a long line when I come here, but it is because they really do have good sales & discounts. I definitely don't mind doing a little digging when I score 70 to 80% off the original prices, that is and will always remain a WIN in my book. Despite living two avenues away, I avoided this Marshall's for so long, thinking that it would be a crazy mess of rude people and small selection. I finally ventured in a few months ago and was pleasantly surprised. I have shopped here about five times so far and am still impressed. First, the selection: This will vary widely depending on when you come. I have been here at 7pm on a Saturday night when the selection is grim, crowd large and lines so long that you contemplate whether or not saving $10 on the shirt you are holding is worth waiting 45 mins. But--- if you come early (before 12) during the week, or even weekend, it can be surprisingly tidy. The selection of clothing is fairly large and many deals can be found. The shoe section is never very organized; but it rarely is when shopping at discount department stores. The housewares section is hit or miss. There is always a lot to choose from but finding a matching set - of anything - can be a challenge. Again, this is not unusual for a discount store. I have also shopped the children's section for the niece and nephew and always find great deals in this area. Second, customer service: It's Bensonhurst. Ya can't really expect too much. If the majority of the staff speaks understandable English then they already have my vote and all the staff here does. I have had encounters with rude cashiers, but nothing crazy. Further, I returned an item a few weeks ago (something I VERY rarely do) and I did not have any issue at all. The cashier was friendly and the refund reflected on my credit card within 2 days. Yes, you see unprofessional staff members chatting and taking their time, the younger workers flirting with each other and managers dragging their feet, but I really do not feel as though they are any worse than your average discount store in a metro area. Third, the wait: The way this store is set up, the line wraps and wraps so it can sometimes seem longer than it really is. Having said that, I have been here when the very long lines go amazingly fast with almost all registers staffed, and I have unfortunately seen the lines go pretty darn slow too. Although, in their defense, I see a lot of customers here returning items-- not an item, but ITEMS as in an entire large bag of items, So understandably, that will hold up the lines, and unfortunately the clientele here are the type that will not only return multiple items at a time, but also complain about a $0.50 difference and have the staff running around for price checks. Overall, I absolutely think that this store is worth exploring just set aside some time to sift through everything and wait in line. read more

First, I must admit I do come here a few times a year because I could always find something I like. But the line to the register is ridiculously long no matter the day of week nor the time of day it is. I mean long, as in 30 people on line. This store feels claustrophobic because the racks in each aisle are so close to next other. It barely fits one person through each aisle. I don't even know if they have ventilation in here? Towards the back of the store, the gloves and socks are unorganized and so many are dropped on the floor to collect dust and dirt. Same goes for the shelves of toys and gadgets. I don't think there are enough employees working here or they just don't give a damn that things are neatly put away or put where they belong. Go for the deals in price for brand name stuff. read more

This is probably the best Marshall's I have even been. It is incredibly deceiving! From the outside, it is pretty dingy. I agree with other reviewers that the inside is also in extreme disarray. However, if you're like me and enjoy digging through racks of clothing and shoes, you can get some pretty awesome finds. During the past months, I have managed to pick up: Rag and Bone skinny pants, Ugg sneakers (fur lined), Ellie Tahari merino wool sweater, Lucky Brand blue suede flats, among some other trendy no name clothes and shoes. Let me just mention that I am an extreme bargain hunter and these name brand items were tremendously discounted! These brand name items are practically untouchable anywhere else. Thanks Marshall's! They also have a beautiful array of infinity scarves in the front of the store all at a great price! The shoe selection is extensive. I have only ever headed straight to their sale shoe section because it is 1) less overwhelming (less shoes to look at in your size) 2) great looking shoes 3) good quality 4) designer labels Just to note, this is the kind of store to go to if you don't have anything particular in mind and if you want to add some new, funky additions to your wardrobe! I usually go there on a whim The only negative- some of no name brand clothes tend to be poorer quality but are not so expensive so if you get a few wearings out of them, no biggie. The staff at the check out are usually polite, friendly, enjoy making small talk, and are willing to help customers. The lines can be insanely long! So come here when you have some time. NIGHTMARE MARSHALL'S been here more then 5 times and each time it is a walking disaster. doesn't matter if I come first thing in the morning or an hour before closing, it's always packed and slow. first of all, the store is horrendously messy - you cannot find anything. the merchandise is hardly updated with a lack of variety. the shoes are misplaced, mismatched and a general MESS. each section of the store seems depressing with its limited, picked-through merchandise. the sales section is laugh-worthy. you will find some of the most ridiculous clothes left hanging on the racks waiting for some eccentric to buy them. the prices accompanying the crappy clothes are even worse. $39.99 for a white, cotton t-shirt with holes in it? yes, maybe if I was missing half my brain and was too lazy to rip up a $1 t shirt myself. cash out lines are unbelievably slow. each time i've picked something up (usually coffee, tea, or organizational items) i've had to wait in line anywhere between 15 minutes up to 40! the store has so much potential - it's large, shiny and bright. truly unfortunate. read more

This Marshall's in particular gets packed like crazy during the weekends. Come during the weekdays and you'll be fine but never ever come during the weekends! You'll end up waiting over an hour just to checkout. This is the only Marshall's around the area so hoards of Brooklyn residents come here to shop. The prices for the clothing really aren't much of a discount. The only things I find worth buying are probably household items. Even the name brand shoes aren't much of a deal. I live nearby and I have attempted to shop here on a few occasions due to it being close to home. However... If you value your time, don't bother coming here. Limited selection, cluttered aisles, bad customer service and yes, as everyone else mentioned, the long, long lines. It really needs a management overhaul. Only a blind idiot can't see that more cashiers need to open up when the line is several aisles long. Instead, employees are standing around or pretending to do something important like straightening out the shopping carts. And last of all, this is NOT the only place in the neighborhood for discounts. Do yourself a favor and go further down 86th Street to 5th Avenue. There is a Century 21 Store there with not only comparable prices but sometimes even better discounts. Plus, it's neat, plenty of cashiers and much larger. I don't think it would be possible to make the line-up situation any worse. The line winds around, and depending on the time of day, goes down the aisle. Otherwise, I think this place is pretty awesome - I wish it was bigger! It has your typical department store mess, but I have bought a number of things here over the last couple years and am still using them - all well known brands (mostly shoes, yes). The shoe department can get crazy disorganized, but that's partially just because of the sheer number of people going through there, so do your part and try to keep things tidy! read more
