This time, when our Kirby needed a different repair, I did not hesitate to bring it to All Makes right away. I dropped it off at the end of the week and was given the expectation that I would receive a call by mid-week the following week that it would be ready for pick up. That call didn't come. So called them multiple times. No answer, so I left a message. No one called back. The next day I called again multiple times. No answer, so I left a message. The next day, I called again. No answer, so I just went to the store. The same guy I dropped off the vacuum with explained that they've been swamped and he's by himself, but the vacuum should be ready early the following week. I called mid-week the following week and no answer. I didn't bother leaving a message. I called again at the end of the week. No answer again. So I just went back to the store. Same guy gave the same explanation - swamped and by himself, but that it should be ready next week. He's had our vacuum for over 2 weeks at this point, and at this point I just decided to take the vacuum back and bring it elsewhere. I understand getting behind due to a backlog and being short staffed, but WHERE IS THE COMMUNICATION? Where is the professional courtesy of returning the phone call of an active customer? Disappointed because I liked this place. They do good work and are close by.

Jackleg work, simple fix, abjectly poor customer treatment…read more After buying thousands of dollars worth of Schonbek fixtures - a large center hall chandelier, two sconces, two ceiling domes, and two smaller bedroom chandeliers - from Cleveland Lighting, here is the response I got when I asked them to fix the problem shown in the attached pictures: "Unfortunately, we would have a service call fee of $95. As mentioned these are secured at the factory and I'm not sure how much of an adjustment can be made. I could have someone available this Thursday afternoon. Let me know if you wish to proceed." The sconce in the photos was installed improperly. It should have been repaired without hesitation without charge by the store. You can see from the photos the Cleveland Lighting rep's statement, "fixed at the factory," is an inaccurate cop out sent by someone who just did not give a crap. Asking for a service fee was inappropriate and indicative of the kind of people who run Cleveland Lighting. Find a different lighting store.

After ordering thousands of dollars of lights over a year ago, we found ONE lighting fixture that fit our needs better for our dining room in an another store. So, we asked to return a BRAND NEW, UNOPENED fixture in the box for a refund. They insisted on a 25% restocking fee. This is outrageous. This is just a way for them to make more money on their lighting fixtures for doing absolutely nothing. They could care less about building any customer good will for any future lighting purchases. They obviously care more about making a buck than pleasing their customers. Yes, it was stated there would be a restocking fee but seriously? 25% ?? You spend thousands on fixtures and there is no room for an exception at times? You can be sure that I will make sure that anyone that asks me about purchasing lighting fixtures I will tell them of the poor customer service and will steer them to another store. I needed a piece of wood cut to 26", they sent me to the service counter, (which is in the back of the store...most inconvenient for those of us who have difficulty walking), and after waiting 10 minutes to be helped, a very kind young man told me that they don't provide that service. At a hardware store? The employees are friendly and capable, but it's no longer the same place it was in the past. I miss the old Dunn Hardware store.
